  • About the Kavuthuvam
Kavuthuvams are originally ritualistic dances that were performed in Tamil Nadu. This particular kavuthvam is based on a unique theme - parrots and is part of Dr. Lakshmi Ramaswamy’s popular production Suka Marga - Parrots in Indian Art, Thought and Literature.
Striking colours of red and green,
In grey, yellow and purple they are seen.
Flip flop they flutter as a pair Chirpy birds they remove your despair
Bundles of hope they bring with them
If in your dreams you chant their name
An act they’l repeat and repeat the same.
    Fighting is a common game
    Gliding mountains, scanning the sky
    Pecking fruits they happily fly.
