Most of this type of dancing originated in the temples and the dances are usually stories about the Gods. This one is about devotion to Ganesh the Elephant headed God Remover of obstacles.
I am completely ignorant of the meaning of the looks, the gestures, the steps, the changing body positions and why some parts of the dance involve the dancers dancing in unison and others have them following different movements. Either way, the dancers seem to act as one entity. The classical Indian music that accompanies a single male singer moves with the dancers and the singer's voice. The golden jewelry catches the light as the yellow metal intensifies the purple color of their clothes. So much of this is unlike the classical dance here in the West. Yet it is mesmerizing. And beautiful. How are they able to make their hands seem as fluid as a wave upon the water? How do they move their legs straight out to the side, with the knees deeply bent and yet with their feet parallel to the floor? All I can say is that I have found an art form that is new to me, that is amazing to witness and beautiful to behold.
Everything u said, I totally AGREE. There's Fluidity, Grace, and Total Unison in their Movement. I am a fan of this traditional Indian classical dance.
I have no clue why but their dance style reminds me of earth bending from avatar 😂😅 their movements are so graceful but also have a type of power and strength behind them
1. Avatar is inspired from Indian culture, junglebook for example. 2. This is ancient classical dance style, if you ever visit ancient Indian temples from (as far back as 5th century and some from even before that in Ellora), check it out. 3. All dance forms use body movements and elegance in doing so. That's how the dance and song connect all of us universally. For example, Indian modern dance teachers can't stop adoring and admiring and copying Micheal Jackson, the ultimate artist.

I just went to Ganesha Temple in Flushing, Queens. I was there once before just prior to Diwali. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of statues of gods dressed in bright pink, blue and green. Not so today. About 30 statues of gods, the largest one in the center being Ganesha. Constant prayers and incense at his location. It's a great temple that originated, if I recall correctly from the discussion white people got while entering the temple just before Diwali last year, the location of the first church in the U.S., a Dutch church. It became a Hindu temple almost 50 years ago, with the help of Native Americans, because at that time, they were called "Indians," so they felt some connection and provided assistance. I don't know a thing about praying to Hindu gods. But I figured everybody starts somewhere. I started with this dance to Ganesha from these three ladies four or five months ago.
That was just unbelievable. Those women are just absolutely stunning and very graceful and elegant........sooooo beautiful. The costumes were fantastic and those women are very strong.
These dances are also telling a story! Symbolic and creative representation of the human form. These 3 young ladies are excellent and beautiful dancers. 🔮🌹🔮
The deity behind, the one with Elephant Head - God of Wisdom is who they are dancing too. And the statue in the corner is Nat-Raj or dancing Shiva, who dancers pray too. Dance of Shiva is symbolic. It means life, the activities of universe. Thats why CERN Hydron Collider has a huge statue of Dancing Shiva infront of it.
Years of dedicated revered training. Salute!!! These exquisite dance forms can be gifted to the world only at the peak of human evolution, in my opinion..(.and a few hundreds of years ago humanity passed that peak :(
May I ask a question about the facial expression? Do you know if it’s traditional (like a Russian ballerina being completely expressionless) or does it go with the piece? Thanks, if you know. Your culture is rich indeed! Very beautiful.

Amazing! What a treat to watch! This beats the typical, hollow Bollywood dance a hundred times over. This represents the real depth and culture of India, not the empty Bollywood dances which is mostly just jumping around.
Awesome performance...full of grace, precision, excellent coordination. And the song by Shankar Mahadevan adds to the beauty of this performance. Congratulations to the dancers and their gurus. 🙏🙏

Ganpati dance
This dance brought to life ancient characters and images I have only seen pictures of. Magical and beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
So beautiful and creative. I know nothing of this style of dance or it’s meaning but it had me entranced. These ladies made it look so easy and flawless... which means they have trained and practiced hard... thank you for sharing!
This tripple performance from Kameshweri, Harinie and Sanjena - dancing 1 entity - for me as a newbee in "Bharathanatyam-U-Tube-Enthusiast" Is nothing less then astonishing. Very interesting to study, and also beautyfull choreography. I really am thankfull for these ladies done this dance. Exquisite & Majestic. My favorite. Oh, and Shankar's voice..
edit: and how could i forget mentioning the masterfull choreography from Dr. Sheela Unnikrishnan.
This is so pure and serene Vandana. India is truly amazing. ❤️❤️❤️
Fantabulous!!! I've learnt kuchipudi for around 6yrs and couldn't continue. I've started practising from past few months. I am so glad that I have found your channel. The dancers are just amazing. Expressions, footwork, choreography & costumes everything is on point. Even though it's a different dance form from Kuchipudi I take lots of inputs and get inspired by your videos every single day. (perfect footwork, maintaining good posture and inspiration from the dancers).
The Indian classic culture fascinates! Thank you for sharing this video.
Perfección es poco decir. Amor del arte es más significante. Belleza es poco. Amor al arte hindú mis respetos desde Nicaragua
They're so precise, vigorous and delicate, all at the same time. I loved it.
What a coordination!!!! Literally got happy tears in my eyes...may Lord Ganesha shower his choicest blessings up on these three girls..gud luck 👍
Hell is waiting for your silly "lords"!amazing how so many people walk still blind in such time when evryh is revealed! Unbelievable
Потрясающий! Это восхитительно и очень крамсиво!
Best symmetry in classical Indian dance. The girls are near flawless. Nothing better than this.
I am particularly impressed with the balance poses - narry a wobble :)
Brilliant choreography, exquisite execution. A special note for the costume designer. So tasteful in their simplicity and yet making a great visual impression.
I can't even comment! Beyond words. Such is the fruit of "Tapasya"!
Wow dancers look like goddess' statues with every move. It's just so beautiful 🤩
Wonderful performance for Ganesh Sthotram. God bless you my children. Jai Ganesh Maharaja.

One of the best choreography I have seen so far. The dancers are really blessed :-) There were happy tears when the dance ended. Wish to see my daughter dance like this in future... All the very best for your future...
This dance is so beautiful! I am from China, I love Indian culture very much!
We also love your culture! Especially how beautifully you guys make ancient Chinese theme movies and dramas. Just awesome
No conozco mucho este tipo de baile, pero al verlo, mi primera impresión, es que es una disciplina que ha de llevar muchos años de práctica para dominarla. Quedé encantado con esta demostración.

@@Priya-bt3oj As a indian I am embarrassed by your rudeness and hubris. You have issues. You have uncouth and uncultured.

Amazing talent these women have! Their cores have to be extremely strong to have such control!
Even though they are in sync and have the identical outfits the individual personalities is shown in the choreography. Neat!

Their hands. The gestures. The precision. Truly amazing and delightful to behold, although I understand not a syllable... I know (and appreciate) Art when I see it.
I could watch it in loop all night long . Relaxing beautiful, perfect suits, I love this choregraphy, it's so deep, the movements are like an alphabet, j'adore !
Faboulous, dance with purity of soil, body and mind. Indian culture is wonderful in world.
The synchronicity and grace of movement was a treat to the soul and the senses. Pranams to their guru and to these graceful artists. May more artists like them preserve Indian culture, art forms and dance traditions. Thankyou for sharing.
