I like the card system where you can combine cards. The playerboards are more present then the game itself. Mini's look great but much doubt about the rest.
I think the Chaos and Order track is a cool addition that really makes it feel more immersive by making it seem that abilities impact the environment in ways that can be helpful or harmful. An extra layer of thought becomes necessary for what to play and when with that element that seems very engaging.
Day 1, yall crushed it with Tanares, and Dragori is a brand we can rely on! Looking forward to doing a Sorcerer, Necromancer 2 player Campaign! Backer 181
I'm very excited to see necromancer (I haven't gotten to see her yet) because I love that class and Michael promised to do it right this time for Odalin
For a prototype it's a good first iteration. The thing that makes ATC so good is the mechanics are simple to understand but complex to master. I think there is still some improvements needed here for the combat system to flow and we will need a way to have simplified characters for us solo players. At the moment the game seems a bit too fiddly. Looking forward to the next iteration.
Thanks for the preview video. I think this looks to be a great game. It’s far too late, and I hope not to come across as too harsh, but there is a good reason why a company should hire a professional board game influencer. This video was too off the cuff and flipped in and out of focus too much (I had to look away at several points).
There are some others that played or discussed the game but it takes quite a bit of time to learn, play and then teach others how to play and I know those others didn't have as much help as I did so there just wasn't enough time to make it happen
@AlasdairMacKinnon all the camera equipment, lighting, tripods, overhead shots everything is my own property. The only thing supplied by them is the prototype and miniatures for this video
These were quickly created from the factory so they are slightly too large but yes they are the same scale as Tanares. All demon miniatures are 2x2 size so they are meant to be larger. We also will be increasing the size of the tiles so it's not so small
Doesn't really seem to stand out from its competitors. It looks like many of the other dungeon crawlers and boss battlers that I've been saying "no" to recently. Fantastic art and excellent minis but the gameplay isn't doing much for me at this time. I can't keep backing games for cool minis, I need to see something truly unique to justify it.
I am digging the gameplay, simple yet requires some thought and has variation to keep things fresh. Just not impressed with the campaign page. Missing a lot of information and some if it is not clear.
I feel like the price is a little high for what it offer. $300 got me all five cycles of Aeon Trespass Odyssey. I doubt this will offer even half of that content. This seems to pale in comparison even to Tanares A lot of Tanares appeal was its connectivity to Arena and that it paired with D&D. I have literally every mini for my next campaign of D&D. Odalin is alone on its own and feels sooooooo lacking.
@@jayvir6while I agree ATO at 300$ was a great value. You can't get it anymore. Now it's 271 euro for first 3 cycles only. The day of super good value pledge has long passed us.
He didn't need to break free because the viper warrior was killed. This was mentioned in the special rule for this section to either break the grip or kill the viper warrior
Odalin: Dungeons of Fidddddddliness. I cannot fathom spending 2 hours of my day to make it a single room. I think maybe my time is more valuable than yours.
omg how can you be so arrogant... but yes time is money mr. ceo... He tries to explain everything important, the room will definitely not take two of your oh-so-precious hours.
@@gloriousorigin How can you possibly be so arrogant and rude on the internet. #1 he doesn't explain everything #2 he already knows how to play, meaning you're right, it won't take me 2 hours, it will likely take me longer #3 that's not even the full game, as he tells you at the beginning #4 he didn't even include all the enemies, which he tells you at the start You are so rude and arrogant omg omg. @@Why-Ron75 I don't even have a top 1 dungeon crawler. Have played most of them and have yet to find a good one. All of them utilize an absurd mishmash of mechanics that don't make sense, including, but not limited to: - A dungeon map that doesn't have any bearing on the game, and that you're usually racing through (A.k.a. Swords & Sorcery) - A tedious, repetitive slog fest with stupid rules like you can't loot unless you land on it (Gloomhaven) - A D20 hit mechanic, which works great for RPGs but is absolute horrid in dungeon crawls. The reason being that to miss in a board game really sucks, so they make it so you don't roll to hit, you roll to miss (A.k.a. Tanares Adventures, where you frequently hit on a roll of D20 roll of 2-5, thereby making the roll superfluous), and even when you miss, you still do damage. Both of these mechanics are dumb. No favorites. The best of the bads though are probably something like Shadows of Brimstone, Folklore, Descent, Dungeon Universalis, maybe Middara... What about you?
Worst promotional material I've ever seen, one guy grumbling about 4 characters and the rules of the game. It's already better to watch the grass grow.

I always liked the top of one, bottom of another ever since Gloomhaven did it.
@@jayvir6absolutely! Love they are giving it a Mystic Vale touch too with the ability to modify the top or bottom of a card as you lvl up.
Will we be getting any other pay throughs? Rolling Solo, One Stop Co Op or Totally Tabled, maybe?

I find it an interesting choice to have a completely random initiative order with no way to adjust it - feels rather limiting re agency? 🤔
Actually that's not entirely true. Jarek has an ability that allows himself to move up in the initiative order.

They already have simplified rules for characters apparently.
Thanks for the video - convinced me to cancel my Day 1 pledge. Looks so fiddly. Probably saved me more than €250.
This map looks very tiny and crowded.
Yes we're already going to be scaling up the tiles because of this. That's why it's good to have a prototype to look for problems.
@@Phlanx06Nice ^_^
Off topic, but I love that dice tray!! Where did you get it?
lol. I got it from a small shop here in Denton Texas from a convention called ReaperCon

Yes in the pledge manager
