@@NeilBlaiberg Depends on your definition of the madness debuff. If a mad player can't play the role they are mad as, for example a savant who works with the juggler to hide the juggler's identity, then the mad debuff is kind of pointless as the only thing it does is make the player who is mad a "I am the thing I am mad about" button who can't interact with the game in meaningful ways. That is, in my opinion, bad game design. If madness allows him to roleplay the role he is mad as, for example a savant working with a juggler claim to juggle, it allows for leniency to give the juggler some chance to use their role which is much more fun for the player and is much more clever than "I am a savant, I am a savant" on repeat, and it encourages creativity to still be useful to town while mad. If you want madness to be the former, you might as well just make the person who is mad be incoherent or mute. They have the same level of impact on the game at that point and it is genuinely unfun if that happens for the entire game. Laurie's way of playing mad was an enjoyable means of having that mechanic be used multiple times on the same target and it is more like the second option's definition, his death excluded (which was moreso for early-game balance, which is fair).
@@GnarlyCarleyGaming yeah, there really were many times where I thought "damn, that's a great play !" Wakefield at the end, where you chose Sully to be mad about being a Clockmaker. Brilliant =)

@1D1-Myke How does a new demon coming into play affect the Cerenovus? (Edit: I see. It was Sully’s ability as Vigormortis that was allowing her to wake and use her ability at night. With Sully no longer the demon, the minions he killed should no longer have been woken.)
Adore Laurie as the mad character! His commitment to it is awesome, and his first round play was so good. Plus his inscrutability combines so well with bursting into convo absolutely certain about being some strange character

No one can tell me other wise and I am the blah and always have been! ~Today~ ... and since always, I've been the blah!" and the tone is very sarcastic and ingenuine.. and it just sucks the fun out of the mechanic because it then blatantly makes the Cerenovus a dead giveaway when they use their ability. Maybe the mechanic should be renamed? "Mad" leads people to think they should talk like the mad hatter, which is already a silly guise.. maybe it should be mind altered or something.. idk.. make it seem more serious of a mechanic so that way the Cerenovus and other mad mechanic characters can keep there fun.
@@Dubstequtie I agree with you. How is carley not getting more praise?! She absolutely wrecked that game! She played without any guidance from her demon, found out who most players were, worked out who Isaac was and then played the perfect plan for either scenario if Isaac picked sully or not
I think Carley knew what she had to do when she heard the other evil players, and stepped up. And she absolutely worked out the last day and shifted her plays around. She’s really really good at this game.
Ben said he choose not to kill sully for breaking madness since he was a new player If he did That would mean that Carley’s action won the game for the evil team
@@ImaginaryMdA The rule is when a player dies and then comes back to life, or changes characters, they are treated as a brand new instance of their character. That last round with everybody going “ohhh it makes SENSE” nearly made me scream because no it doesn’t make sense you’re completely wrong but dear god DONT start thinking that or you’ll lose
I think Ben did a fantastic job keeping the game alive so early despite Sully trying to end it 😂. Absolute best game I've seen. So incredibly stressful the entire game.
So good I’ve watched it twice already, a proper emotional rollercoaster. This size group definitely makes it more entertaining because of the added minion and the ratio of players being more favourable to evil. 3 v 7 way more interesting than 2 v 7 or 2 v 6. Also added minions throws way more chaos into the mix. And Sully just keeps going against the meta game and winning as a result. Coming out as the clockmaker made him less of a threat because a disposable demon bluff goes against the meta. ARGH, SO GOOD!
I've watched this game a few times and I'm JUST realizing Laurie's plan to get away with juggling. Convince other players that someone else is the juggler and they need to cover them because it would make sense that a savant would pretend to juggle to cover an actual juggler. Mind-blowing. Such a good play. Laurie might be one of the best Blood on the Clocktower players of the whole group, despite losing a lot. His knowledge of how to get around the game is impeccable.
I love the fact that what could have been the shortest game they've played, turned out to be the longest and the best addition. Well played everyone and thanks for the entertainment ❤

Absolute blinder of a game, as nail biting as a World Cup final. Jesus, what a ride of emotion from everyone at the end, including Sully GOAT-Brown! Well done NRB!
Best game of BotC so far, and that's saying something! You weren't kidding in the stream when you hinted that this would be absolutely wild! What a ride! Gold medals to Sully for that performance, Jon for having it all figured out day 1 on pure social reads, and Evil Genius Carley for taking the Snake Charmer into account with that final day madness! :D Ben - I don't know if you read these comments but if you do, I'm curious about something: I get that you had to execute Laurie on the first day as it was the only way for the game not to end there, but if the demon hadn't been on the block, would you still have executed Laurie for juggling? I recall on one of the recent Pandemonium streams where you were madness-executed for starting a cult and was very surprised at that decision since it's one of these things everyone does - much like juggling. At the time, I believe the justification was that you were the first one to start a cult, which made you look more like a Cult Leader, and if you'd been the second or third, it wouldn't have been as much of a problem. In this case, it seemed to me like Laurie did an excellent job making people believe that he was the Savant, spending the entire day engineering a situation where he might be safe to juggle, and only juggled once a bunch of other people did. Would you normally execute in this scenario, had Sully not been on the block?
Not Ben but I read a lot of the comments. I'm very certain after all this if Ben didn't have to execute Laurie, he wouldn't have. Laurie played it literally perfectly. The only reason he died is cause Sully was on the block and the game needed to continue
This game blew my mind. I’ve watched most of the games on the BOTC channel and never seen ANYTHING like that final day. Sully not being able to out any of his former teammates as the new snake charmer was incredible, you could see the pain in his eyes.

I almost feel bad for Carley, she played SO AMAZINGLY this game, and even when something arguably terrible happened for her (The snake charmer hit the demon), she was prepared for it and made an insanely clever play to stem that info from getting out in advance.
@@AlexH274 I mean, to be fair Sully did get screwed in that final round. Since Sully was no longer the demon Carley shouldn't have been able to wake up and use her ability to make him Mad during the previous night, so Sully should have been able to just announce himself switching to good with no restrictions.
@@AlexH274 No, within the rules of the game Carley should not have been woken up to make *_anyone_* Mad on that last night because as soon as Sully ceased being the Vigormortis all the effects he created throughout the game prior to that should have ceased. Any time a player changes characters the rules state that it should be treated as if the old character died, meaning Carley should have just been a dead minion with no ability to continue making players Mad post-death since Sully's Vigomortis power of allowing dead minions to continue using their powers would no longer be in effect. It's totally understandable that they made this mistake since there's SO MUCH to keep track of in this game, and Ben always does an amazing job. But that doesn't change the fact that Sully had an unfair and rule-violating handicap placed on him during that last day. 🤷♂️

Dom’s deranged panic in a private chat with Sully after his narrow escape made me almost cry from laughing... @1:02:25
Sully is that friend you teach a game to and they win while being oblivious to what’s happening
Blair’s face when Jon’s playing the piano is so joyous
Dom also did a great job there. He knew that he was a burden for Sully, so he rightly concluded that he had to get rid of himself with the witch curse.
It's just a shame Ben had to shut down Laurie's genius juggler strategy to engineer this absolutely phenomenal game. Bravo all.
I really wish Ben hadnt done that. Ben keeps claiming ths storytellers dont interfere all that much, but in his case I really have to disagree
@@lesliee700 I absolutely get why he did it, especially since these are filmed games, but storytellers should ideally never punish good play just because someone else in the group cocked up.
@@lesliee700 no, by this point Ben has admitted that the storyteller's job, at least on the first couple of nights, is to help the evil team for the sake of balance (they are outnumbered.) He has been pretty consistent on that point throughout. Whether you agree with that or not is up to you, but he has never pretended he wouldn’t help a team that is really in trouble (like I feel he had opportunity to execute Luke and Laurie at later points which would have really helped evil team and didn’t.)
Why was it genius? He literally broke madness
Bruh. Carley is a freaking beast this game.
Oh hey. Thank you ❤️
@@GnarlyCarleyGaming yeah, there really were many times where I thought "damn, that's a great play !" Wakefield at the end, where you chose Sully to be mad about being a Clockmaker. Brilliant =)
@@GnarlyCarleyGaming Making Sully mad the last round was truly inspired. It's a shame he went past the bounds of what was really fair trying to convince people he was mad, but in the interest of an interesting resolution to the game it made sense for Ben not to kill him for it. You really deserve credit for what should have been a game winning move there, though.
@1D1-Myke How does a new demon coming into play affect the Cerenovus? (Edit: I see. It was Sully’s ability as Vigormortis that was allowing her to wake and use her ability at night. With Sully no longer the demon, the minions he killed should no longer have been woken.)
Carley single handedly saved the game for evil on multiple occasions and really only lost because of Isaac's misread on Sully
The "Omg, we are so screwed" reaction from Carley and Dom when they realized who their Demon is. 😂😂😂
I love how Sully, as a fake clockmaker, accidentally predicted something that would end up being true at the very end
"I think this is probably over now" - Ben... when there's still 47 minutes to go
I felt Luke so hard when he was alone in the room and was like "Shit I should do some thing funny. Shit I don't know anything funny to do!" 😂
At every turn, I kept asking myself "How is this video 3 hours long? How the hell is the evil team going to get out this mess this time?" What a game!
The good team played themselves a little when they overestimated Sully's bluff. XD
They were so close to getting it bang on from the first night!
Adore Laurie as the mad character! His commitment to it is awesome, and his first round play was so good. Plus his inscrutability combines so well with bursting into convo absolutely certain about being some strange character
he's probably the only person on nrb so far who interracted with madness correctly and actually tried to sound authentic
@@barbrr I agree. I like when they act authentic.. whenever someone is mad by the Cerenovus they always go "I am totally 100% always the blah and always have been! Always have been!
Ceranovus I think should be Mind Control, while the Pixie can be Mad and instead of how it is now (like crazy) Madness is used in the context of getting angry that they're not believed (which I think was the original intent of the creators however player interpretation...)
Adam vs Carley as eternal arch nemeses are so great. It's the forever feud I want. Two social deduction gaming experts always at odds, on opposite sides, matching wits, and elevating their respective teams. I love it!
Ben said he choose not to kill sully for breaking madness since he was a new player
If he did
That would mean that Carley’s action won the game for the evil team
Half of the comments on this video are praising Carley.
@Satoko Houjou Is this true? I can't find this rule anywhere.
@@ImaginaryMdA The rule is when a player dies and then comes back to life, or changes characters, they are treated as a brand new instance of their character. A characters effects typically end if they die, become drunk/poised or change characters. Because Sully was no longer the demon, his effects ended and Issac is treated as a brand new Vigormortis.
Carley is just next level good at this game. Making Sully mad that last turn was inspired. I love all of the NRB content but this just might be the best episode you've done yet. Bravo.
When they said the last day was a wild ride, they weren’t lying! This was a roller coaster from start to end. Easily the most entertaining episode of the series thus far.
I can't believe Adam was backing Sully.....for the wrong reasons 😂😂.
Loved this episode
ADAM: A win's a win.

@@1zl541 I was ready for him to be the 4th vote by voting for himself to make it so no one died.
I think Ben did a fantastic job keeping the game alive so early despite Sully trying to end it 😂.
Absolute best game I've seen. So incredibly stressful the entire game.
Night 5 is the best thing I’ve ever seen, the highs and lows of Sullivan Beau Brown
For anyone wondering, the song Jon plays on the piano at 1:09:12 is "Colorblind" by Counting Crows. Great song! Wanted to hear him play more!
Oh, thanks! I knew I recognized it but couldn't remember what it was.
Can I just say that Carley is insanely good at this game? That last Cerenovus play was sick.
Sully is the demon and Carley is evil, this is going to be incredible.....
Edit: it wasn't incredible, it was EPIC, utterly fantastic game
Took the words right out of my mouth

@@philb6133 I cannot describe how much this pisses me off, why would you spoil the next two games on this video?
Hahahaha that comment is a year old. It’s like spoiling Avengers End Game a year after its release; the ending was everywhere. Further, I bet you forgot this comment existed :/
@@charleswow9552 How dumb is this comment? You realize these videos are online for forever, right? You think no one will ever go back and watch them in order? Tons of people will. How old the future videos in the series are is completely irrelevant to whether or not spoiling future episodes will spoil people.
Also, btw, people watch movies years after they're released too. If someone hasn't seen something, don't be an asshole and tell them how it ends. That's just common decency.
Sully was basically dead at 45 minutes how does this game last another 2 hours?
@1D1-Myke I’ve watched, I’ve seen, I’m still confused but good on him for winning it by the skin of his teeth
Craziest part is i think they would’ve still offed isaac on the last day even if he didn’t pick sully and switched. So he might have won anyway
The thing with Jon is that he tends to explain why he's nominating, before he actually nominates and that's what leads to them timing out so often
I don't think people are highlighting Jon's social skills enough. Maybe it's because he tends to unravel at the drop of a hat, but figuring out the Sully-Dom connection purely from social reads is an incredible skill.
Unfortunately he can't capitalize on it. Jon seems to have hard time on the rules side of things, they are often unable to reason actions other than lying because evil.
Evil team did amazing this game, gotta love Sully's secret evil genius showing through his nice guy facade, Dom played really well as the Witch, choosing just the right people to curse at the right times depending on what's going on and trying to push them to nominate, and I always love Carley's amazing plays as a minion or evil player, despite her worrying about having another minion in play and managing to find out so much information with barely any input from Sully, just everyone did amazingly ❤
This is the first time any team in any game has managed to snatch victory from the jaws of victory
Been playing BOTC for a year now and this was one of the best games I've ever seen. Carley's snipe on that last day was beautifully played.
Me rushing to load the vid, not seeing thumbnail: “Ahh sweet. NRB do another BOTCT game after their behemoth stream”.
Sees who is demon and Cerenovous: “Ohhhh shit, this is going to be absolute chaos, and it will be oh so satisfying”.
Edit: It was chaotic AF, and filled my hunger to the extent of a Tudor monarch. Absolute blinder of a game, as nail biting as a World Cup final. Jesus, what a ride of emotion from everyone at the end, including Sully GOAT-Brown!
Well done NRB!
Carley had a perfect 3:0 record until she had to be Sully's minion.
Ben - I don't know if you read these comments but if you do, I'm curious about something:
I get that you had to execute Laurie on the first day as it was the only way for the game not to end there, but if the demon hadn't been on the block, would you still have executed Laurie for juggling?
"Science is sometimes guessing" get that on a bloody T-Shirt
@@danielward6672 I know? That's why it's a very clever response in the context...
They do say a theory is nothing more than an educated guess
The actual definition of a theory is body of knowledge that includes facts and laws that are effectively proven, not just a blind or educated guess.
For his first time, Dom is a fking genius and I'm excited to see what more he can do in later episodes ^_^
Finally the recognition I deserve. THANK YOU!
This game blew my mind. I’ve watched most of the games on the BOTC channel and never seen ANYTHING like that final day. Sully not being able to out any of his former teammates as the new snake charmer was incredible, you could see the pain in his eyes.
Jon being COMPLETELY right in the last round while also being totally wrong is so frustrating but so entertaining
What an addicting series of videos. I'm always rooting for Sully no matter what. I do wonder how this game works in person, though... it seems like it plays better online.
13 hours of No Rolls Barred content and it’s only Tuesday. That’s what I call a good start to the week
Isaac getting sus of Ben's cough was amazing, the level of paranoia. But we all know that Ben would do something like that on purpose haha
I almost feel bad for Carley, she played SO AMAZINGLY this game, and even when something arguably terrible happened for her (The snake charmer hit the demon), she was prepared for it and made an insanely clever play to stem that info from getting out in advance.
This game is TOO GOOD! The last day was CRAZY! Cant believe how good Carley with this game.
This was incredible, actually jumped up from my chair on the final night. Also Jon nearly talking himself out of victory was delicious.
If only I could give more than one like!!
Carley is still the BOTC GODDESS (evil goddess)
Of course evil Sully betrays his loyal minions to win in the end.
1: He wasn't evil, when he betrayed them.
2: The Good team won. Since Sully was Good, at the moment of victory, he wasn't lying.
@@CaitiffFTW Don't take everything so serious, kid.
THIS. WAS. WILD. Also, Carley is an absolute genius.

Top quality last round play by Carley. Figuring out Isaac, knowing there was a good chance he'd picked the Demon and switched, so maddening Sulli and trying to push the vote towards the one person she knew had zero chance of being evil!
