The BBC broke his heart. They cut him off from doing the thing he loved,he was still doing a great job,was very popular, and was sacrificed to the agest management policy.

There's an old saying! "If it's not broken don't fix it". Steve Wright was never broken, he was simply the best!

  • @liverpoolscottish6430

The BBC killed Steve by throwing him on the scrap heap- radio was his LIFE. He was LOVED by listeners, his show was superb and he touched millions of people, most of whom feel his loss personally. WE have lost A FRIEND.

  • @jimbo6693

And the BBC ditched his hugely popular afternoon show for the box ticking Scott "me and my husband" Mills who is absolutely shite by the way. RIP Steve you were a real broadcasting legend. 🙏

  • @fastacesus8499

The BBC is so disingenuous. Fired him from doing the show he loved. Millions deprived of his artistry. Yet they make out he was one of the family they still loved. Yeah you put him in the old folks home.

I don’t normally write things when famous people die, but Steve was definitely different, for me it was the friend in the van who made boring trips funny, and who couldn’t wait to hear Sid the manager or Mr Angry, ..we have some great radio dj’s but Steve was that cut above the rest, 69 is a young age to die, may he rest in peace, he will be sadly missed

  • @97channel

I have heard reports that he recorded a show due to be broadcast this weekend, but it will now not be aired. This is a terrible decision, if true. Unless his family object to it being broadcast, it should absolutely be aired as a tribute and a final farewell to this legend of a radio era which is now almost gone completely.

  • @davidkelly455

  • @karlmabe1649

BBC killed him off was a big shame I loved the old woman aswell

  • @sonnykeith8338

Anybody but the egomaniac Jeremy vine to pay tribute. Rest in peace, Steve Wright 🙏 I never met you, but you were great company, thankyou so much.

  • @windowseat7334

Best thing the BBC could do is keep quiet, they took him away from his millions of listeners and took his reason for living away.

  • @uttaradit2

I'd rather hear broadcast re runs than the current crap

He was a constant from my first day at work in 1982 until just now. You will be missed by millions Mr Steve Bright. 😢

  • @nevillekinsley5610

If you worked on your own on a building site in the 80s Steve and his characters brought a light to the day that was otherwise grueling! Tears of joy when Mr angry from pearly went off on one! Thanks Steve.

  • @A1969-ci9xt

Steve Wright was thee best DJ ever , He will be missed ❤😇🙏

  • @danps7167

I just wonder if anyone said this to him when he was alive. The way the BBC treated him was Scandalous, he was one of their crown jewels and its only now they see how good he really was. RIP Mr Wright and thank you.
