    I have been crocheting for around 60 years. When I learned to crochet you had to know someone who knew how to crochet who could teach you. There weren’t lots of books with patterns and there weren’t many places to purchase crochet instructional books or patterns.
    Crocheters today have no excuse to not venture into new patterns or go above and beyond their amazing imaginations!
    This beautifully talented lady is amazing! (I love your color choices,by the way) You give the most precise instructions that are so easy to understand and follow!
    If anyone is trying to learn to crochet, this lady has the best teaching technique! If you are a long time crocheter, believe me - you can learn new ways to do things and you can improve your techniques.
    Thank you so much for sharing your time and your expertise with us! You really can teach an old dog new tricks!
    God bless! 🥰❤

    I have done a bunch of dishcloths and towels, along with a couple of hot pads. I typically use the regular 4 wt. cotton, but have wondered how they would turn out in a Tunisian crochet stitch, so I think I will give this a try. Thanks for sharing Toni! I love your videos and have watched many of them. Surprisingly, I also follow Tiffany, so that's a double plus. Another thought, I have a double ended Tunisian hook that I might try for the hot pad. Hi Toni. I love your videos. I've been watching them for the last couple of months. I as ve always wanted to earn tunesàn crochet but thought it was very hard. After watching your tutorials I have decided to try it. You make it ok so easy. I'm going to make the kitchen trio for my granddaughter who is getting married in a few months. I have been crocheting for over 50 years and love it. I love to make baby things and blankets. I have always gone by the letters when choosing a hook. The Tunesian only put the mm on their hooks. Is there a comparison chart for converting mm to letters. Thank you. And again I enjoy your videos so much. I even got my sister into Tunesian crochet. We are both in our 70s

  • @amysteiner140
    @amysteiner140 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is the first crochet project that made me proud of my product despite being a rookie! Quick question, in a previous video you mention that starting the project with the back side bumps ensures the edge is pretty and finished, which it does! But on this project with a boarder all the way around, did your plan include it out of habit or by design? I'm just wondering if it could start easier with the chain since a boarder would leave a clean edge. I'm going to try it on my own some time but was just curious. Thank you for the amazing tutorial! I can't wait to make more!

  • @tiffanyjack6095
    @tiffanyjack6095 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I absolutely adore your set! Here is my issue. I am on a strict no more buying yarn until I use what I have in my stash. I have some I love this cotton from Hobby Lobby that has been sitting, waiting for the perfect pattern, it is kind of a heavy 4 weight though, could I use that and just adjust for sizing? I know I could figure out the gauge, it might just take me a minute, I also have some paintbox cotton dk, to me that seems a very light weight dk almost a sport weight, otherwise all I have in 100% cotton would be Dishie from WeCrochet and some leftover Lily Sugar & Cream.

    • @TLYarnCrafts
      @TLYarnCrafts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! You could absolutely use a different cotton. Go for the hook size on the ball band for a closed stitch pattern. The Brick Stitch is worked over a multiple of 6 + 5, so you can add or remove stitch multiples as needed. Use up that stash, friend!!

    • @tiffanyjack6095
      @tiffanyjack6095 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TLYarnCrafts perfect. I did the potholder in the paintbox dk and it was an almost perfect match to the gauge. But I see me making a lot of these, they are fun and I absolutely love the double crochet post stitch in Tunisian crochet. I like it better than regular crochet. Lol 😆😆😆 Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. 🕊️❤️🕯️🧶

    Hi Toni! I’m wondering why you didn’t use the same hook for all three pieces? They used the same stitch and yarn, but were you trying to make the wash cloth denser by using half a mm smaller? Gorgeous set! ❤

    • @TLYarnCrafts
      @TLYarnCrafts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great catch! Yes, I wanted the dishcloth to be a bit tighter. Since it's likely to be the most used piece, I wanted a slightly denser pattern so it'll hold up well over time.

    After those are blocked the first time, do they need to be re-blocked after each washing?

    • @TLYarnCrafts
      @TLYarnCrafts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! Cotton holds it's shape relatively well, so you won't need to completely block them again. You may want to take them out of the dryer while still damp and lay them flat to dry. Otherwise, they might be a bit wrinkled.

    I love all the things I learn from your videos, but I must say that as soon as I noticed what was behind you , it lit me up. It looks to me that you have a hanging beaded room divider.
    I'm not sure if I'm correct on that, but if it is, it is AWESOME.
    Now how often do you see something like that.........

    How in the world do you keep yours from curling up?

    • @TLYarnCrafts
      @TLYarnCrafts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cotton helps a lot. It's heavier than a wool or acrylic, so it doesn't curl as much. I also crochet with relatively loose tension, so the curling isn't so bad.

      @TLYarnCrafts I'm trying. But man, it's aggravating. I've got the washcloth done. Getting ready to start on the dish towel.

      Absolutely! The stitch multiple is 6+5, so you can add repeats to your stitch count and easily make a blanket :-)

    Hello anybody reading this 😊 I have a question that hopefully someone can help me with. Does anybody know how to read a pattern? I mean, I can crochet anything with a tutorial, but I feel like me not being able to read patterns really limits my options. I know some abbreviations like sc, dc, hdc, etc. But reading a pattern altogether confuses me 😅 Can someone tell me how they learned, and give me some pointers?

    Toni, these algorithms are nightmarish. You work so hard already, you shouldn’t have to struggle with algorithms too. I hate that social media works like that.

    Is there anyway to download a printable pattern that is not filled with ads. I would pay for it. I like to watch the crochet tutorials and Then follow the printed pattern.
