Omega was always the Transformer I related to the most. A big robot who didn't really fit anywhere so he was always alone away from others. Someone who although was a "Do the right thing" guy, but deep down was a brokenhearted soul who was let down by his friends. I guess I just felt for the guy.
In a way, but that stigma of being "The Last line of Defence" that usually comes with being a very large and formidable warrior means he is often more relatable to Metroplex than the average Autobot. It's a kind of stigma both the big guys share, and most of the smaller Autobots don't realize this, but Omega does tend to take it in his stride most of the time. It does make him grim and impersonal though.
Oh man i remember getting omega supreme for Christmas.....such good memories.... i still have it too with the box....transformers were everything when i was kid:)
You guys had epic parents. That stuff was too expensive for my family growing up, but now I’m that parent with my sons- except, of course they have no idea how good they have it hahaha
I still have mine but Omega has seen better days. Battle damage from a Decepticon Attack when I was younger so he is pretty beat up. Ratchet and WheelJack are dead so noone there to repair him.
I miss when cullen’s optimus prime talked more normally and didn’t try to add gravitas to every line. I think the more well-rounded personality rather than the stoic, mindful leader made him more relatable and easier to root for. In many aspects I feel like the bay films and later hasbro split primes personality between optimus and bumblebee instead of making him more 3 dimensional
What I wouldn't give to still have my toy collections. Back in the day I had almost every He-Man action figure. All of the G1 Transformers, and a ton of TMNT figures and vehicles. The 1 collection I managed to hold onto is my 90's X-MEN action figures. I have about 87 of them. They're all opened and played with, but I did manage to not lose the lil weapons. Also, I have a Sentinel, the X-Wing and the 2 vehicles that came out with the original set.
I thought he was cool in the original, and always cheered when he showed up. But Animated made me connect and care about the character in a way I never had before. His relationship with Ratchet just really touched me, and he went from being "cool powerhouse" to a true favorite.
Thank you. Omega Supreme was always my favorite. Oh heck I name part of my company after him. I learned things about him from you that I never knew. Thanks again.
I always wanted to see Omega vs Trypticon during season 3 of Generation one. I think it would have been so cool seeing an autobot other than Metroplex face-off against him. :-)
I always though the cause of Omega’s explosion was the experimental rocket fuel he was using. My favourite part of him, was how he messes with the constructions until they merge, he wants to fight by himself against them at their strongest. Unlike them who sneak attacked him but still couldn’t win.
9:20 Funny thing is, when I was little, I had the Transformers Energon Omega Supreme toy and I lost a few parts to it; especially the head. I only found out about the small head gimmick by accident.😅
As a kid, I used to stay up at night waiting for shooting stars in order to wish for this toy. Over 30 years, with student loans paid and some spare money, I finally got the WFC edition to fulfill that wish. Worth every penny. Then I thought he needed friends, then enemies. And 4 months later I'm like $1K down in figures and just got a desk and a couple Detolfs.
0:16 SketFire When my son was little, he LOVED Omega Supreme. So much so that he declared February 15th as Omega Supreme's birthday. I was undergoing chemo and looked awful. He was really stressed out and all so darnit, we melade a cake, got candles, had the hats and decorations and had a birthday party for Omega Supreme. It was fun and it helped improve morale.
There were a few other massive Transformers that debuted after Omega Supreme... Metroplex, Tripticon, Fortress Maximus... but none of them had the relatability, charm and history of good old Omega. Unlike the others, he was never a base with robot form, but an Autobot with a base form.
Omega Supreme is one of those big guy Transformers I like. Not to mention Omega Supreme manhandled Devastator in both G1 cartoon and IDW comic😂 Good video by the way👍
In the cartoon, Devastator manhandled Omega into the robosmasher and knocked Omega the fuck out. Devastator is a super robot, Omega is an old Guardian who's race has been about completely wiped out by ancient tiny less powerful tranformers.
Omega was always one of my favorites. I wish they had done more with him in G1 season 2, had him go a few more rounds with Devastator and maybe take on Bruticus.
Been waiting on Omega Supreme. Great vid! I know I asked you about the other cassette formers, but wouldn't mind seeing a retrospective about Jazz and if he really was 2nd in command and how they changed his name in FFOD.
I still have parts of G1 Omega Supreme but there were so many parts I lost some. The rocket legs broke but the one thing I have that isn't broken is the actual tank. It still works to this day.
Nifty character, and the Titan-Class version is my favourite incarnation so far. As for the Energon version, I've head-canoned him into the suitably pretentious-sounding "Epsilon Praetorius," as an auxiliary to Metroplex, acting as a "dockside" transport and tactical combo of ship, defense turret, crane, and road-train. The whole shebang is overseen by the Headmaster, Epsilon, who runs not only the dock facilities, but also the Autobots' logistics and daily operations of the city.
Animated omega supreme was so innocent because of his limited processor I genuinely loved omegas pupil and ratchets mentor relationship too it was so wholesome
I really like Omega Supreme, not to metion he has the coolest name of all transformers! Thanks for the retrospective my friend! I hope you are feeling better!
My favorite big guy. I am extremely happy that you made this video. Now...all we need is to see him in one of the newer live action Transformer movies.
Before my love for the combiner groups and characters like Fortress Maximus, and Unicron, Omega Supreme was my first favorite otriginal big Autobot. Thought his origin in the cartoon was so cool adding a backstory to his rivalry with the Constructicons.
Omega Supreme was always my favorite Transformer. I loved him so much till today, that when I was 7 years old, I named the Electricity Tower in the entrance to my city Omega Supreme. So for 30 years now whenever I'm returning to my city in the interurban buses and I need to say where I am to my family to pick me in their cars, or when my family tells each one of us on the phone that they are at the entrance to the city - we allways say that we are near The Omega, or passed The Omega. Even though the middle brother was only 3 years old when the series was on tv, and the young brother was just born - they called it since then The Omega. That's how his character was so important to me all my life :-)
Omega Supreme from Energon had to be my favorite. I still have him, loved playing with him the most especially with his headmaster piece. Had no idea the smaller “head” bit though till as of recent! haha
I had Omega Supreme in Christmas 86(greatest Christmas ever because I got the NES video game as well) and I will say this, if you lose even one piece of Omega, you will not have Omega Supreme
Very well done! Omega Supreme was always a favorite of mine as a kid. I already pre-ordered the amazing new Titan Class Omega Supreme. So happy to have an Omega Supreme in scale with my Titan Class Devastator. Keep up the great work! Could a Supreme Class or even Titan Class Sky Lynx be next to face off against Titan Class Predaking? If so, count me in!
Great video Omega Supreme has always been a favorite of mine i love his voice and the way he talks i has always wonder why they didn't use him on the Bay movies hopefully now that we got a reboot of the franchise they will use him and the siege toy looks awesome can't wait to get him
Thanks RP. I don't know if you remember, but I asked if you would ever do a video about Omega Supreme about 2 years ago, wanted to offer my input. However, looks like you got plenty of good source material. Thanks for focusing on my favorite bot. (O.Supreme) 👍😉
Oh man this brings back so many memories...thanks I actually had omega supreme, and a bunch of others including prime the 1980 version with the trailer an roller inside..omg I miss those.
I loved the twist in Animated about Omega Supreme. I understand why you didn't mention this as you normally don't talk about third party or customs, but someone (sorry idk the name of the guy) made a custom Animated Omega Supreme that transformed and actually sold it, it was quite expensive and I never got it, I know you probably heard of it but I think it's insane one guy made it and I wanted to bring that up.
You know what that actually makes more sense like you said he smaller then titan but at same time when toy releases it’s gonna be some what near tryipicon’s height so I say the might as well be selling a titan sized omega supreme.
Titans are much larger in fiction. Omega should be the same height as a Combiner in robot mode but this new toy will scale well against Combiner Wars Devastator.
Your retrospectives on G1 transformers are awesome. Youre my favorite channel as the g1 transformers are my thing love everything about, im even a HUGE season3 fan :)
Ive always thought that the whole Constructicons thing was that, they were originally built on Cybertron but got destroyed in the Great War, and their memories and sparks were saved, and brought to Earth through Space Bridge later to be rebuilt.
I cover it in another video. They came to Earth in a starship but their bodies were destroyed from fleeing from Omega Supreme. Megatron built them new bodies on Earth in those caverns.
I had Omega Supreme when I was a kid, I no longer have it. My mom sold all my toy's unknowingly as i grew older and was no longer playing with them......
I got Omega Supreme for Christmas at some point in the mid-'80s, and he remains (along with Galvatron and Shockwave) one of those Transformers that just immediately takes me back to that time in my life. Right up there with the Parker Bros. Merlin and the Casio PT-80. Also, I still prefer absolute magic to the "subspace storage pocket" explanation. GOD, I hate that. 7:53. Uh. They turned him into the Thundertank?!
I had one of those Blue versions when I was a kid 6 or 7 years old. It was at least 3 years before Transformers was released. I had no idea what it did. It was a tank on a track with Rocketship. I didn't know it formed a robot. I think my Mother threw it out rather quickly.
Hello Optimus primal I really enjoy the view about Niger supreme when I was a kid my dad got me the Omega supreme toy at Christmas and I really enjoyed that toy Optimus primal I do enjoy your channel I'm a huge transformer fan
Great video. I have always stuck with the G1 cartoon storyline for Omega, but some of those comics seem interesting. I might have to check them out finally. By the way, I've never had the transformation sound effect happen like that when I played with Omega Supreme. You sir, are a true master.
Thanks! I prefer the cartoon as well but I did enjoy reading the comics too. It's probably for the best that I didn't make my own transformation sound during the video.
I do think later combiner teams, Metroplex, and Fortress took away from Omega’s specialty. Fortress outright stole Omega’s position and I’m never going to forgive the writers.
I remember crystal clear the first time I saw Omega Supreme. It was in animated, in the Chapter that Sari unlocks again his memory and power, and I was blown away. It was amazing. At the time I didn't had the knowledge about combiners or titans or anything bigger than the other Autobots, so to see a Transformer that big, it was amazing. Specially because I saw years earlier some of the Chapters of Generation One, so I knew about the Arc, so I got confused and I thought that the Arc in generation one could transform into Omega Supreme too 😂. Now that I think of it, I have a lot of great Transformers memories in my childhood
I didn't finish Animated, so I didn't know they made him the Ark, but that's honestly genius.
Actually Omega Supreme wasn't the iconic ARK. It was called The Orion
Omega was always one of my favorites when I was young. Always loved how big and industructable he was.

Transformers is one of greatest and coolest thing to ever happen on earth

It really is isn't it? Depth equal to Star Wars or Star Trek, but it gets NOWHERE near enough love. It's just seen as a silly kids show.
Transformers is my Star Wars!!!
I agree. A bonus that transformers has is a more fun toyline
Omega Supreme will always be awesome.
"I am the termination of your domination." That's from Transformers #50, my favorite Omega Supreme line. So dramatically bold.
This makes me remember the Christmas when I got Omega Supreme and my brother got Sky Lynx. Man, I really wish we still had those!

I always thought of the Season 2 Autobots coming to Earth with Omega Supreme, just off screen. Nice and easy explanation.
I gown up with the original g1cartoon but i like the idea when omega can trun in to the ark in tf animated
It was a neat twist that gave room for the character to exist in the show. Fort Max and Metroplex only had city mode cameos.

Specially because I saw years earlier some of the Chapters of Generation One, so I knew about the Arc, so I got confused and I thought that the Arc in generation one could transform into Omega Supreme too 😂. Now that I think of it, I have a lot of great Transformers memories in my childhood
