That’s very true. He’s a real diplomat. When someone was asking him about the latest Star Wars films he said “Ah, an ambush!” He did say he’d have done things differently. But did say that he felt Star Wars was in a very bad place with the studio and creative types saying that those disliking the films are bad people. He said that isn’t just bad for business it’s just plain wrong and offensive. He said “those are your most loyal supporters.”
Nacelle is pronounced na-cell the last e is silent (a nacelle in Star Trek is the cylindrical parts of a starship on the outside which hold the warp coils).
From the toy perspective for sure what better way to recycle the same molds. When I first saw G1 I hoped we would of saw more of some of the other seekers but it was cool too hear in the extended universe they did flesh these lesser known seekers out. If they a going with Blitzwing I do hope we will see his three forms. It is kinda eh when the colors say Starscream but its like they haven't used different color schemes on characters anyway. I do think it is very cool to see Starscream finally get a release with his Cybertonian alt mode hope they do the same for Thuindercracker and Skywarp. Honestly it would be cool if they gave Wheeljack, Bumblebee, and Jazz in their Cybertronian alt modes as well.
because its easier to repaint old characters then make new ones XD. for me i like to think one of two things. 1. they are a special team that have the same design so bots can know who they are. or 2. they were cloned from one bot to make an army. this was a fun vid RP
Great video again Rodimus. Personally I like the names that were given to the variously colored seekers from G1. Mindless clones don't work for me and lets face it we all like the different personalities that our Transformers characters have. That is why we watch in the 1st place....besides the fact that Transformers are still the greatest toy concept ever!!
Seekers are the best! But Blitzwing is..... is a one great disappointment, because: 1. all others in Bumblebee were very nice and lovely made with the G1 design, and he's not! Why can't they make a new character like Shatter and Dropkick?! this guy was for one shot for a God's sake! He was great, but whyyyy?!!! 2. Blitzwing has super wonderful original G1 design! Why can't they do him like he was?! WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But btw - great video, thank you very much!
His name is pronounced Nay Cell It is the same name used for the Star Trek: The Next Generation engine components that the warp special effect comes from. Love the video series and I am shocked by how many seekers were in the show. Also the Insecticons were in the beginning of Season 4 Part 1 of "The Rebirth" trilogy. They are eating the door to the Autobots base and get a good couple of minutes of screen time. You have even used the clip a bunch of times. So not all of the Insecticons were reformatted by Unicron. Also would love a TF discussion about the 2 Kid Stuff See & Read Transformers tapes that were produced. Both volumes are on TH-cam and the 2nd one is the only media appearance in the 80's of Venom that I can find.
Never Mind. I retract my statement about the Insecticons. Blasted footage and the bases look too much alike. Just double checked the scene to refresh my memory and completely mixed the 2 episodes up.
@@RodimusPrimal It's interesting that Seeker is called Nacelle. Cause technically, it doesn't have one. A Nacelle is a streamlined housing on the outside of an aircraft, so technically not built into the inner frame. Like how the B-52's engines hang from the wings, or engines that are sticking outside of Airships, or like how the one guy said the engines for the enterprise are seperated from the main hull by nacelles.. F-15's and the seeker cybertron form engines are built into the design.
Oh yeah, I'm definitely with you on the Starscream/Blitzwing debacle. That Bumblebee trailer had so much going for it, and even if they give that Starscream-lookin' jet a third tank mode, just freakin' LOOK at him. Dollars to doughnuts, that was a late-game decision, and depending on the quality of the film, I might well just invoke Death of the Author and wonder aloud where Starscream got his tank mode.

Thanks for sharing this video on the Seekers. Great info! I always liked the design of the G1 Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp Seekers. Weren't as fond of the coneheads, but got used to them. The old 'Prowl Pants' website (if I remember correctly), had models of numerous Seekers - Snowcap, Garnet, Ghost, are the ones I remember, while the old 'Iacon City' website had numerous Seekers, such as the Rainmakers, and others such as Apache and Osprey, female Seekers like Jadewind and Nightraven, and additional coneheads too. Iacon City also listed further Sweeps. I've always visualised some Seekers as being Autobots, mainly because I like to think all of them can't be totally Decepticon-aligned, and because the UK G1 comic at times referred to the Autobot 'Elite Flying Corps', which Swoop (formerly known as Divebomb), before the Predacon Divebomb stole Swoop's name. I liked to assume that some of the Elite Flying Corps, would have originated from the Seeker mould. I think I remember the Iacon City website profiling one such Autobot Seekers, named Slipsteam, who had a distinctive visor in place, which made him stand out from the other Deceps. Great stuff, and thanks again 👍🏾👍🏾
Love the video, Rodimus. Hate to think that seekers are clones of Starscream (especially given Starscream backstory with Skyfire). I rather think that Starscream was rebuilt to be like the seekers. I think that Dirge, Thrust, Ramjet, are rebuilt background transformers from the pilot episodes as are Astrotrain and Blitzwing. Love to know what your opinion on how the original Decepticon triple-changers including Octane, came to be?
One of my biggest complaints about G1 (and keep in mind that G1 is the only franchise I really care about) is that Starscream's backstory involved him and Skyfire being scientists, but for some reason is presented as completely dim-witted from that point on. I always rather liked the idea, and played with my toys accordingly, that Starscream was low-key brilliant and acted otherwise to hide it until the time was right.
First of all I want to touch base on slipstream. I know this is going to sound corny but this is a new millennium and having more female or feminine base characters in transformers is a must so congrats on that 2 Hasbro for finally growing a brain. Next while I know it's difficult and manufacturing to produce multiple multiple multiple molds it's way past time to do away with the cloning thing and just create a busload of individuals thank you for breaking this down for us
I saw the movie last night and I have to say Acidstorm is that green seeker plus he's not a conehead it's just his jet parts on his back he also transforms to a Tetra Jet
Great video & I'm not trying to be nit-picky but Nacelle is pronounced like (Na-cell) which is a stream lined housing for something outside of an aircraft.
I believe you are mispronouncing Nacelle. I believe (educated guess) It would be pronounced like Warp nacelle in Star Trek. Looking forward to the discussion on G1 Triple Changers. I loved Blitzwing. In G1, I thought he was the Deception with the most common sense. One of the few toys (Though missing limbs and his turret). Though based on the little footage from trailers I'm not happy that he has Starscream's Red. Still hoping this will reboot the live action transformers to a new universe and we can get rid of the damn Bayverse
Nice video man, love the conversation. I love seekers, I love army builders (the dudes that can die, because they have no personality) I LOVE Bumblebee (movie) and really hope it does well. They didn't plan for the Cybertron part (Hasbro) I think because there aren't any toys of Cybertron. Cool video
Great history lesson. Seems we have to keep evolving our understanding of Transformers as new writers and directors take inspiration from the past and rewrite it...a lot. Still not as bad as the unnamable one.
I thought about this one a while back, and came up with a theory that I think explains the Seeker mold, at least for G1. First, looking at the "Five Faces of Darkness" arc, we see that the ancestors of the Transformers were mass produced, and even after achieving sentience and independence, individual color and form were somewhat slow to arise. In the episode War Dawn, where the Arielbots are sent back in time, it is revealed that a new kind of robot has arisen on Cybertron, one that can fly in its robot mode. It is also shown that many of Megatron's troops are in fact drones, i.e. robots without independent thought. Why is this important? First, because these new Decepticons were in fact so new, they were probably far fewer in number than the older land bound Transformers. This explains why much of the raiding party was mindless drones, and why there were always so many more Autobots than Deceptions. Second, much like their ancestors, the initial robot form was most likely uniform until the line was "improved" or "perfected". Starscream, Skywarp, and the other first wave seekers were of this first line. The Coneheads were a second line or were experiments into creating more powerful or unique Seekers. As to why they were all jets, that is the easiest question to answer. The answer is, to maximize their flight power. Few Autobots had any flight capabilities, in robot or vehicle mode. Even those who had aircraft forms, such as Powerglide and the Arielbots, often needed to have a running start or a runway to take off. The Decepticons could take off in robot mode, and instantly transform into jet mode, which was often faster and maneuverable. The Seeker design was simply a means to enhance their inherent flight ability. Sorry for the length, but please do respond. I would love to hear feedback on this. Love the video and keep up the good work.
As everyone (who has watched g1) knows, the seekers are the first Decepticons to appear on a television, but if you look closely, Thundercracker is the first of the 3 to appear, making him the first ever Decepticon to appear in a show/movie that bears the name "Transformers" (I'm not sure if the comics came first, which is why I have decided to confuse readers by at least putting a point out
I believe bumblebee is a reboot because in the trailer the transformers on cybertron resemble their G1 selves but in the 2007 movie before they got to earth they looked totally different and they spoke cybertronian in the first film before getting to earth and in bumblebee they are speaking perfect English on cybertron Reboot alert reboot alert
DEATHSTROKE yeah there’s sector 7 but anything can be a reboot I in the trailer unlike the bay films it seems to have heart to the point where honestly it’s not suggesting a prequel it’s suggesting a reboot
I think what they're going for is a soft reboot. If things don't work out, call it a prequel, but the designs bring in moviegoers and fans after the debacle that was Last Knight, venture off into its own thing. Considering how many problems I have with the Bayverse, I'm happy to let them do just that. At least Soundwave and Shockwave look like Soundwave and Shockwave this time, so that gives me hope I never expected to have when this film was first announced.
@@jakeproven5931 screw it yeah this is a reboot. Travis knight should stop saying that this movie is still in bayverse cuz if this connect with last knight and 2007 transformers this is too weird

I love the Seekers! Especialy when you take the idea from IDW (which Travis seems tho have done in Bumblebee) The perfect form for the Decepticon armada! Now here's a question! (I know I've recently asked the same question on a different video but I also wanted to ask it on the video more related to the subject) What do you think is the Autobot's version to the Seekers? We have some obvious candidates in Bumblebee, Ironhide but also in Sideswipe! What do you think?
It's really a tough call. If I had to say, a similar mold to Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen probably because of how many times his body type has been used. Just the basic layout of his body too even with a different car like Jazz or Movie Bumblebee with the door wings and car hood on the chest.

Do you want to know why the Decepticon Jet is called Blitzwing instead of Starscream in the new Bumblebee Movie? Because Hasbro wants to sell more toys.
I don't care what they say, that wasn't Blitzwing. Blitzwing isn't a seeker, he is a triple changer, and Bumblebee would not be able to kill him so easily. Oh, sorry, Spoiler Alert.

Another great video. I always wondered what have happened if Galvatron never came into existence and Starscream stayed leader. But that is a discussion for another day.
Ever since Transformers Animated, like the idea of the Seekers like Thundercracker, Skywarp, Ramjet and other from the Transformers franchise that share Starscream's body type being his clones.
I used to watch the oriogonal cartoons but I don't remember any mention of the term Seekers. What does Seekers mean? Is it just all the robots that transformed into Jets among the Decepticons?
Cold Construction? Well that could probably another explanation on how Optimus Prime was resurrected. His spark was transferred to another body sharing Optimus Prime's mold hence the undamaged body seen on the starship on The Return of Optimus Prime.
From a military point of view it makes sense for the Seekers to have the same body type, they have the same speed, maneuverability and basic capacities, making it easier to fly in formations, it also makes them a compenetrated team because they are full aware of their team mates capabilities. There is also the advantate that with most Decepticon basic troops having the same body type they are easier to repair not only due to the familiarity with that body type but for the recicling parts provided by the fallen Seekers (they are Decepticons), they are not above that.
"...Starscream resembled a hulking dorito with chicken legs and a beak-like face."

This is something all show creators can learn as many modern remakes tend to attack fans lately.
Guess hes not a prima donna creator who cant stand any criticism.

Nacelle is pronounced na-cell the last e is silent (a nacelle in Star Trek is the cylindrical parts of a starship on the outside which hold the warp coils).
Nacelle sounds like a girl's name.

*MICHAEL BAY*
lol I always expect Rodimus to show us Starscream's dance in TFP.
F*** you Michael Bay f***you
Seekers are the best!
Thanks for the compliments. I look at Movie Blitzwing as the character in name only. The real Triple Changer is out there somewhere.
I always liked skywarp my favorite seeker

His name is pronounced
Nay Cell
It is the same name used for the Star Trek: The Next Generation engine components that the warp special effect comes from.
Thanks for the help in pronunciation. Are you referring to the Decepticons attacking Autobot City in Five Faces of Darkness?
Never Mind. I retract my statement about the Insecticons. Blasted footage and the bases look too much alike. Just double checked the scene to refresh my memory and completely mixed the 2 episodes up.
I was going to state how it was pronounced but then I was all, "I'm sure someone beat me to it" :p
@@RodimusPrimal yeah Nacelle is pronounced nay cell or nuh cell.
This was a fantastic video Rodimus, don't worry, when you were talking about the seekers in the Bumblebee trailer, you can actually see Starscream, and he does look like his G1 counter-part in the background with the picture of Shockwave and the seekers

Why would the character design be so accurate, yet give him the wrong name?
Jesus. $14.99 is the equivalent to over $35.00 today. That's a lot of money for a single action figure that's actually designed to be played with.
I totally agree. And people were flipping out about the price of the reissues!
I call blasphemy on the Blitzwing/Starscream situatio for the Bumblebee movie
@D Gray that's not it bro, it's called a troll, it's there to hype you then decieve your expextations with brio, just like starscream. and i personally love the idea of blitzwing being the grey and red boi for once.

Don't let any of the new fans (or old fans) play you like these things don't matter. Because they do. smh @D Gray
Great stuff, and thanks again 👍🏾👍🏾
an army of seekers are in the opening of Bumblebee

11:52 you can see the real star scream standing behind shockwave on the right, ahead of what might be skywarp and acid storm
That acid storm looking guy is also a conehead
Ramjet: "What? I'm the original starscream!"
I saw the movie last night and I have to say Acidstorm is that green seeker plus he's not a conehead it's just his jet parts on his back he also transforms to a Tetra Jet
And a blue seeker with stripes (Thundercracker )was throwed by Optimus
And in the second trailer the design was changed to more resemble G1 starscream
great video!!!! shoutout to last prime speculator!!! i will be seeing this movie next saturday
Thankyou! I've been trying to understand the seekers/coneheads thing for a while now!
Great video & I'm not trying to be nit-picky but Nacelle is pronounced like (Na-cell) which is a stream lined housing for something outside of an aircraft.
Thanks. Yeah, I found out after I released the video how it is pronounced.
@@RodimusPrimal oh cool, you're welcome, really enjoyed this video thank you.

The G1 seekers are the best looking. And my favorite seeker is and will always be Thundercracker.
Nice vid Rodimus. Agreed on your frustration with starscream/blitzwing.
The problem with bumblebee blitzwing, why wasn't he purple to avoid starscream confusion?
Better yet, why give him the Jazz treatment? Dies in the first battle he's in. Should've made it just an unnamed generic decepticon
That would be even worse because then people would think blitzwing is skywarp or something like that
The sky warped then the thunder cracked and the star's began to scream

Agreed!
As everyone (who has watched g1) knows, the seekers are the first Decepticons to appear on a television, but if you look closely, Thundercracker is the first of the 3 to appear, making him the first ever Decepticon to appear in a show/movie that bears the name "Transformers" (I'm not sure if the comics came first, which is why I have decided to confuse readers by at least putting a point out
Cant stop nodding my head to your intro cause its sick
I believe bumblebee is a reboot because in the trailer the transformers on cybertron resemble their G1 selves but in the 2007 movie before they got to earth they looked totally different and they spoke cybertronian in the first film before getting to earth and in bumblebee they are speaking perfect English on cybertron Reboot alert reboot alert
I would like to believe that but its like they insisting that this is a prequel

Especialy when you take the idea from IDW (which Travis seems tho have done in Bumblebee)
The perfect form for the Decepticon armada!

I used to watch the oriogonal cartoons but I don't remember any mention of the term Seekers. What does Seekers mean? Is it just all the robots that transformed into Jets among the Decepticons?

Cold Construction? Well that could probably another explanation on how Optimus Prime was resurrected. His spark was transferred to another body sharing Optimus Prime's mold hence the undamaged body seen on the starship on The Return of Optimus Prime.
it's actually pronounced na-cell, just so you know
From a military point of view it makes sense for the Seekers to have the same body type, they have the same speed, maneuverability and basic capacities, making it easier to fly in formations, it also makes them a compenetrated team because they are full aware of their team mates capabilities.
There is also the advantate that with most Decepticon basic troops having the same body type they are easier to repair not only due to the familiarity with that body type but for the recicling parts provided by the fallen Seekers (they are Decepticons), they are not above that.
Hmm...genius.
