Great job! I love the Serato DJ Pro especially 3.2! But djay is in its own class as an app first then it turned into a masterpiece of technology! I went From Vinyl to Software 90s-2024
Thanks for the great video. I have been using the Denon MC7000 with Virtual DJ for the last few years, it's done its job great without fail. However being old school at heart, I would like spinning platters(and still have the stem control I have with my 4 channel MC7000). After watching this video I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger on that new Rane Performer!!
Damn brother I don't need a new controller but your video certainly made me want to buy 3-4 of them lol! You are a master at explaining things without all the fluff! Great video!!!
DJ GURU 🎤 🎧 THANK YOU FOR THIS EXELENTE AND HONEST REVIEW. YOU , REALLY OPEN UP MY IDEA 💡 ON WHAT CONTROLLER AND SOFT WARE TO REALLY USED FOR MY HOME AND MOBIL DJ . GREAT VIDEO DJ GURU !!
Although Virtual DJ is marketed to work with pretty much any controller, I wouldn't mind seeing a new dedicated machine for it, like what was done some years ago with the Reloop spin. I don't think it would necessarily hamper their brand. Plus, I still think despite its use for a wide range of controllers, I'm sure there are those which are best for it e.g. Flx 10 and Rane four. Any others?
@@TheDJsGuru I really enjoyed your video. When I clicked on it, I was pleasantly surprised to see the Rane Performer. Coincidentally, I just purchased the second DJ controller of my career. My first controller was the DDJ-400, which I bought three years ago. I've been eagerly awaiting the official release of the Virtual DJ software's compatible version, and although I'm currently using the beta version, which has some functionality mismatches, I find it sufficiently impressive. In the future, utilizing Virtual DJ's powerful customization features in conjunction with the Rane Performer, I believe it will become a cozy haven for those passionate about the DJ profession. Thank you again for your wonderful video. Please keep creating more great content. I've already subscribed.
@zamric Thanks so much for the kind words! I really like the newer FLX4, but the DDJ-400 is a pretty underrated little piece of gear, especially if you branch out to djay Pro or VDJ. But I can't lie, tho ... Rane threw down a gauntlet with the Performer
@@DJSwitchPDX Exactly, I consider myself fortunate that my first DJ controller was the DDJ-400. In Rekordbox versions prior to 6.7, it was an incredibly versatile tool. Sadly, versions 6.7 and beyond removed many of the effects that were once easily accessible by simply connecting the controller. With the release of Rekordbox 7, I found myself gravitating away from Pioneer towards more powerful controllers and software. Despite this shift, I still hold a deep fondness for the DDJ-400, as it represents the beginning of my journey as a DJ. (Who knows when Pioneer might discontinue the 400? I feel profoundly let down by Pioneer, or rather, AlphaTheta Corporation.)
We definitely need more information. There's a lot of options for Serato-friendly controllers, but before I recommend something specific can you tell me how long you've been a DJ, and what kind of music you like to play? If you like to scratch and you're used to turntables, there's a bunch of motorized options these days, but if you're still learning and want something flexible, there's some good options for that too.
As of 2018 Denon has been given an official status to release any and all device Related Content to decades of digital DJ equipment and Interface Drives and Sound Processing Systems

It can be, good luck!
While all controllers work well with VirtualDJ, as a vdj user, the best controller would the flx10 hands down.

Me too, but unfortunately it has to do with Apple's "class-compliant" hardware standard, so it's not really Rane's fault. Maybe someday ...
