I wish that was a main focus for a lot of his character. Considering the amount of loss Bruce has experienced both before stepping into the suit. And whilst wearing the suit. Both have felt catastrophic loss..
Staying up to many hours, being pushed past the edge mentally, emotionally, coming in contact with psychoactive toxins and on top of all that facing the reality that he’s a man.. who dresses up like a bat
So hyped you are covering this story, I’ve read issue one, it got off to a pretty good start, I have all 3 but haven’t gotten to them yet. Sorrentino’s art is some of my favorite. Hope everyone else shows interest in this book.
16:35 My takeaway from this is, it's not so much about stopping Bruce from Becoming/Being Batman, but an attempt at preventing Bruce Wayne from eventually becoming The Joker 🤔
i would love if you end up continuing this Rob! i think stories like these are always gonna be interesting to me as someone who enjoys the psychological side of Batman.
This was pretty darn good and seems awfully damn promising. Please do continue with this story. I don't have the extra money to burn on entertainment and your channel has been a great thing for me. Thanks.
one thing that i really find interesting in this story is the paneling. this version of batman is so dissociated from everyone else and you see that in the white pace that’s so apparent with Leslie. the monster is existing in every aspect of his being.
I read the first issue and I was so blown away. It also kind of reminds me of another Batman story I like-Batman Year one, what with the ledger writing and cursive and all that and the fact that it also deals with the police trying to stop him.
*reads title* *starts to bar up the doors* *Rob Corps comes bursting through:* “AMOGUS! AMOGUS! AMOGUS! AMOGUS! AMOGUS!” *me on the ground after being trampled:* “Rob should’ve known that title was gonna look sus.”
I like the take on the gritty nature of what Bruce is out to do; I stick with the idea of the No Kill Rule is one in the same with being the Batman, stepping over and he is just the Punisher. The mind of the man can't be replaced, it's a weird ray of sunshine to keep the is Bruce insane tagged with he is making a positive dent in Gotham's broken system, versus the main comic where it's thought the existence of Batman creates its own assortment of villains.
what you said about people who don't care whether they live or die was bullshit, Rob. I have found myself in that frame of mind in my life before. Not suicidal, not even close. Couldn't do it if I wanted to. No, I just saw nothing to inspire hope or confidence in the world I thought I lived in. I wasn't mad at anybody else, not even at myself. It was just pointless pain all the way down, so why get all protective over the precious life I had since that just ruined what happiness I could remember. I never once endangered anyone, never wanted to unless it was in self defense. So yeah, what you said was bullshit. Your opinion is worth less, not worthless, to me now. I still love your channel.
Sorrentinos artwork is a masterpiece, and and story fantastically dives into the dark side of Bruce's upbringing, and what he would be without the patience of Alfred to not give up on Bruce. Loved it! 🔥🔥🔥
Honestly he could of destroyed her whole argument by simply saying "you send me to jail you might as well be killing all the people I would of had the chance to help. Can you live with that blood on your hands?"
@Matthew Cutrona I do in fact. Could of and would of are words that sound similar to contractions "could've" and "would've". These contractions denote the use of "have" as an auxiliary verb in the sentence which adds more nuance and importance on "could/would" to give them extra meaning and emotion. "Of" would not logically make any sense in your sentences as none of the uses of the word "of" are that of an auxiliary verb and "of" does not come close to fulfilling the same role.
It’s crazy how all of the black woman in Batman’s life can make him do almost everything that they want them to do. Also Black Label/Max comic book stuff is some of the most appealing things in my opinion. I like the darker tones of the series involved.
I hope you continue to do vids on Imposter as it’s one of those unsung thematic stories that fit so well with a version of Bruce who’s pret much consumed by his need to be Batman to do anything productive for the city that he can’t switch off from it that shoulda been told a long time ago. THEN have that aspect challenged by new positive influences introduced to him which he’ll have to “contend” with in his quest to clear his name
You talking about things in dc black possibly becoming a mainstay reminds me of killing joke. It wasn't going to be incongruity originally but now it is because of the fans.
Just want to say dude. I love your videos. Sometimes I get extreme amounts of anxiety at night, and idk man I just turn on one of your videos and it always seem to calm me down and put me in a better mood. Appreciate you big dog. Rob core for life. 🙏🙌
Yes! The mental health aspect of this story was a major draw to me and makes the character feel more grounded. Would love to see more of this type of take.
I love that Batman stories are coming back! It's been too long without a good DC story! Granted DC hasn't been putting anything real good out lately, but it's good to see the Batman back.
Bro!!! Rob usually I can judge how good a comic book is by how hyped you are to do the video! And bro you where so hyped at the beginning of this video!!!
you can almost make a drinking game with this, i have discovered rob says "AMAAAAZING" a lot, when it comes to when he starts a new series. naturally i am not surprised you only cover the good stuff
I’m pretty new to this Behavioral health stuff and the dsm-5 so don’t quote me on this but in this telling of Batman’s story his lack of empathy and remorse definitely falls under the lines of being classified as a “Psychopath” caused by the serious emotional trauma he experienced thanks to his parents death. If it’s found out that a patient does indeed intend to harm someone and we don’t tell the police or inform them of the possible loss of life then we do lose our license and our job. The “confidentiality agreement” our patients sign have limits, and illegal activity/Loss of life aren’t within that limit.
Leslie Thompkins Was Like A Mother Figure. He Says An Aunt, But She Cares About Him Or At Least Loves Him Like Family Enough To Make Sure He Is Safe, Healthy, Mentally Strong.
The part about suicidal ideation was pretty off base. Passive suicidal ideation (having thoughts about suicide or self harm but no intention of carrying it out, wishing to die, or it can take the form of not caring whether they live or die/"If I dropped dead right now, I wouldn't care/it would be a relief") is a common symptom of depression and they are in no way a danger to others unless there is some other condition or reason. With passive suicidal ideation, many aren't even a danger themselves. The difference between passive suicidal ideation and active suicidal ideation is whether or not a person is thinking of plans to kill themselves. A person experiencing passive ideation may experience random thoughts about ending their life, consistently think about dying, or not care whether they live or die. There are many people who cope with long term passive ideation without harming themselves (but coping skills and support is important, and looking into medication can be beneficial), but there is always the risk. Active suicidal ideation is when the person is actively making plans to carry out suicide or self-harm. Even then while a risk to themselves, they aren't typically a risk to others unless there are other factors at play. The statement about people not caring about the wellbeing of others because they don't care about their own is pretty poorly thought out.
Hey Rob, long time fan, I just wanted to say I just finished peacemaker and that show was absolutely amazing. I would love to hear your thoughts on the rest of the season!
I don't think he killed him, I could be wrong, but I think that because of the gah speech bubble. If he has slashed his throat, he couldn't have made that noise, I think it would have been like a gurgle speech bubble, so I think he cut his face.
I love that they go into Bruce’s health. The mental health of Bruce has always been my favorite aspect of the character
It's mos def one of mine as well.

This is such a GREAT comic. Seeing him cry after a night of no violence looking over Gotham is amazing.
the bitch cried ??
i would love if you end up continuing this Rob! i think stories like these are always gonna be interesting to me as someone who enjoys the psychological side of Batman.
Batman crying on the first none violent night is either heartbreaking, cathartic or hilarious and I can’t decide which
This was pretty darn good and seems awfully damn promising.

Matt reeves needs to use this story for a Batman sequel. This would be perfect.
