In my view a timeless recording. Unadorned, technically perfect (intonation!), yet utterly musical. I feel I can understand Mozart's musical ideas here.
Fine indeed but I find nothing more satisfying than the Bartók Quartet on Hungaroton/Qualiton (SLPX 11400-02; Komlós, Devich, Németh & Botvay). Even this early Alban Berg on Teldec sounds measured (calculated, deliberate) compared to them.
Here’s the Bartók Quartet recording of K. 421 on Hungaroton. If you care to compare, be my guest and feel free to prefer any version you like. My favourite of Mozart's string quartets. Thanks for upload.
Thanks.

The best performance available.
Damn straight.
Neat performance. Thank you.
This is fantastic. However, the interpretations of (the last movement especially) Quartetto Italiano sounds best to me. Sublime!
They spoke Mozart' laanguage.
