What a find this is! Famous ensembles have often played this last quartet with false solemnity and yet others have rushed it. This ensemble follows what Mozart set down yet there is something VERY special going on in how the musicians give proper air to quite a stressed piece. The interaction between parts and the bowing needed to make this perfect can be found in this performance -- head and shoulders above any I have heard in 70 years.

I've listened to all the quartets from no 12 to no 22, but this is the first time I hear this one. The finale is specially exciting among finales, a fitting finale to Mozart's String Quartets.

This group gives us music at the highest level of expression. I too have heard nothing better in over 80 years.
An excellent performance. Relaxed as well as alert playing, and very sensitive. Great artists. Chamber music the way I like it best.
