I have both and can tell you the Motion 300 is better than the Flip 6. The tweeter in the Flip 6 just drowns out the bass. The Motion 300 has a better bass range throughout any volume %, even at 100%
@JaysStraightUpReviews on the flip 6, the more you turn up the volume, the harsher the tweeter sounds that it even overpowers the low frequencies of any songs played. Even by going to the JBL app and tuning the highs down, the problem still persists. Which is something that you said @4:40 . The Motion 300 has overall better bass and highs along any volume.
@@joser3613 well that's not "drowning out the bass", but rather the DSP of the speaker kicking in to eliminate distortion at high volume levels. This is fairly common in a lot of speakers. I tend to adjust the bass up one and treble down one in the JBL app for the Flip 6. And no, the Motion 300 does not have more bass at all volume levels. It does lose some bass at high volume, but perhaps not quite as much as the Flip 6. Part of that is due to the Flip 6 having more bass output at about 75% of the volume scale. Hope this helps. 😉
Thank you for the review. Having had the JBL myself, it's a decent speaker, the soundcore for the price is probably the better value depending on your situation. People need to understand the soundcore is stereo, while the JBL is mono. In your review, and others I've heard, there seems to be quite a bit more detail in the mids and highs with the soundcore. While the bass up button on the soundcore can make it a little bit muddy, at low volumes it can really balance things out well. When I've heard it EQ for the type of music it sounded really balanced for its size.
Keep in mind the M300 has 2 full range drivers, so they have to reproduce the entire frequency range (or at least what the speaker is capable of reproducing) of the music being played. The Flip 6 has a woofer and a tweeter, so each speaker is only responsible for their respective frequency ranges. One other thing to note on the Soundcore Motion 300 is the Bluetooth connection seems to stutter often when I am carrying the speaker as I walk. I thought maybe it was due to LDAC enabled, but after disabling LDAC it still happens. If the speaker is sitting still there isn't a problem. Not exactly pleased with this issue.
@@JaysStraightUpReviews That's true, but at the price point it's actually the JBL is at a similar price point, about the same as a sale price motion x500. JBL 5 versus a soundcore motion x500 would be a good comparison. Again thank you for your time and review.
@@therealtech833 Flip 6 is currently $89.99. Motion X500 is currently $129.99. The bigger Charge 5 is currently $103 on the deal I just posted and I did do a video on the Charge 5 vs Motion X500 already. Check it out. 😏
Hi Jay! I love your reviews! So glad I found your channel! You post new ones all the time and you review all the speakers I would love to have!! Thank you
Awesome comparison Jay thanks. Was the motion 300 playing in LDAC mode? I know it has that but i wonder what if any real world difference it would make with such small drivers lol. Plus need a android for it to work

Hey, I would like to ask which would you buy between Tribit Xsound Mega & JBL Flip 6 if you travel & stay in hotel a lot and you could get Xsound Mega at USD65.50 while JBL Flip 6 at USD73. It’s a hard choice when I remember JBL Flip 6 is half the weight of Xsound Mega
Don't have the Roll 2. I think the SOundcore Motion 300 is the best option of those 3 you mentioned. The Tozo is the least expensive. I have a video of the Motion 300 vs Tribit Flow dropping here in just an hour or so. Check it out.
AH! Mr hand!!! Today?? I'm listening on boom Plus. I would have to go with 300, for bass. I've got a flip 5 but as you said gets shrill louder you go, plus don't have eq!! Great review and entertainment!!!
Jay did i read right that they added a lil tweeter the the flip 6 vs the flip 5 not havin one? Me listening on my wifes it is in fact a flip 5 and think it aint very good but now tempted to grab a 6 as i feel that tweeter would help it alot
I have both of them. M+ is a bit more open, sound is wider as speaker has 4 drivers. However m300 has better sound overall and definitely better bass. If I was on the market right now, I would definitely go for m300.

Pertaining to the JBL FLIP 6, Charge 5, EXTREME 3, & boombox 3, there are different variants of these models, that consumers should know about. I personally own 3 Charge 5’s, which is why I can personally speak on this. I own the ND version, the NT version, & the TT version. Both, the ND & NT versions are made in China. The TT version is made in Vietnam. With that being said, the ND sounds the best dynamically, with overall volume, with lower & deeper bass. The NT comes in second, with slightly less volume, & a softer, warmer bass. In my opinion, the TT stands for TOTAL TRASH, in comparison to the other versions. Its overall volume, dynamic range, & bass output are virtually nonexistent. On the bottom of the box, is the serial number. The first two letters of the serial number will dictate which variant you have. The ND is the most dynamic version of the bunch, with the NT coming in at #2. Stay away from the TT model. It’s cheaper for a reason. They’re being made in Vietnam with lesser materials & craftmanship.

The flip6 really shines when paired tws. I imagine the same goes for the 300.

And a good source for music like yt music vs tidal hifi or Amazon music hd yt music doesn't have that high of okayback rate vs others
Absolutely no difference noticed while using Spotify.
I'd go for Flip 6 as a travel speaker being lighter and Motion 300 for home use being heavier but stereo and more comfortable with the big buttons
For home use I would opt for something bigger, like maybe the Rave Neo 2 or Rave Party 2.

Yeah, the Flip 6 has a race-track shaped woofer and a separate tweeter. The Flip 5 just had a race-track shaped full range driver only.
