  • NEXT WEEK :-) The full historical documentary about the hidden cottage will be uploaded next Sunday now as there are some more little touches I am adding.
In the meantime here are for more random finds around Adelaide.
The first is a 40`s home and the next 3 are 50`s and early 60`s.
Hope you enjoy the walk through. Thanks for watching :-)

Some great finds, that 1st one left to rack and ruin will surly be knocked over that bathroom at 2133 looks so cool and the one at 2718 can still see its beauty although being trashed, the 'Old school' surly loved their colours. Cheers for documenting MM :)

Hey, Paul! Loved that second house. With some loving care, that could have been a really sweet little home again. The kitchen was interesting, but the real star, of course, was that spectacular bathroom! I think it’s the best one we’ve seen yet!
Can’t wait for the documentary next week! I truly enjoyed the one you did a few months ago. It sent me down a few rabbit holes and I ended up stuck on the great mystery of what happened to the Beaumont children! Some good little design details here and there to pick up on. Love the fact that at one time people had planted an olive grove. I like the feature in these late 50s early 60s home where the window is in the wrap around corner - not some thing you see now - at least not here in the UK. If possible please pause for a second on any etched glass its a detail I like to see and we only got very brief glimpses in these clips. Many thanks for sharing.

The First house seems to have reached the end of its run. Shame about the olive trees, takes a while for them to produce. The following three are so mid Century modern, they could be sets for Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 Movie. I would guess they were all built prior to cable telly. Hope the re-development spares some of those lovely Palms.Cheers.

It's such a shame the old houses are being knocked down for the sake of 'progress'. I loved the bathroom with the blue/grey tiles - really gorgeous. The two houses next to each other are not too far from me, it didn't take them long to be flattened and turned in to a Carl's Jr. Burger drive through. The car yard that was next to the houses has also been flattened and is now a Liberty Servo. 🤔👌👍

Paul good to see the video
    Adelaide don,t know much it
but i came across some videos
1 a British biker touring across Australia
and 2 great Australian railroad journeys
    Adelaide is sure lovely ,,,
    bit like our California towns,,,,
those bungalows fist one a bit mucky???? on the wall
that cooker blokin off the unit came in second-hand i'd guess
    serious cracking in walls
Paul makes me wonder when these places were built
what type of survey was done into subsidence
iv watched a fair amount of your videos
and cracking in building structure seem common around building built from 1900s through the century,,,
albeit questionable have they stood the test of time???
if it wasn't for your time n effort we wouldn't be able to see them,,,,,,,,,, thanks Paul by the way that Adelaide blue sky
man i thought for a instance i was in Southern Arizona desert on the ranch,,,,, magic "fair dinkum mate "
learning the lingo too,,,lol Seya Paul next time Ed

Paul, we don't have blue lidded wheelie bins in NSW, would you mind telling me what they would contain please?
I grew up with the pink and grey floor tiles, they were like cement but coloured, the bathroom pedestal sink and bath from memory was pink but I think the walls were a plain colour. Nothing sallubrious in our home. Our dining room formed part of the kitchen, which therefore made our kitchen not small or lounge. Being a 50's home it had white venetians in every room with curtains over them. Our original front door was glass but like frosted ripples which you couldn't see through. Originally there was a curtain on it, like the old undertakers had on their carriages, it draped down in puffy layers.

1st house loo would set off my claustraphobia...was so long and narrow 🙈I really liked the green tiling in the bathroom and green sink and also the floor tiles had such a 1930s feel to it.i prefer the green to the pink sinks in the old bathrooms. This first house looks like it's given up...ready to be demolished and buried ..it just felt sad and tired.
2nd house i loved the tiles in the bathroom and the pedestal sink but why pink? Would love it in the green 😃The outside had a sixties easthetic but the bathroom seemed 20s or 50s. Wasnt the pink and black sinks and baths popular on the 50s?
