  • There are eight bells hung in the Church of the Holy Trinity at Stow Bardolph. Without any peals pre-dating the two trebles (cast in 1870 by John Warner & Sons), I am not sure if they were a ring of six prior to their augmentation.
The 3rd and 4th were cast in 1767 by Joseph Eayre, the 5th in 1601 by Newcombe (generic), the 6th in 1775 by Osborn & Arnold (the same year the four trebles at Aylsham were cast by the same founder to complete the ring of ten), the 7th in 1809 by William Dobson and the tenor being the youngest bell having been cast in 1882 by Mears & Stainbank.
All eight bells were rehung in 1974 by John Taylor & Co, at which time they were rehung in a new frame below the original 1599 frame.
The bells are very easy to ring and strike. Recorded during our summer tour of Norfolk in 2023.
