It's actually come a long way. Still a ton more to do. I work 7 days a week so I've put all my extra time into the car itself and stopped videos for a while. I've been toying with the idea of making more content though. Comments like this make encourage me to do it, thanks!
With an immobilizer delete you should be able to use any key even if its not programmed the ecu will start the car regardless, and if the key is defective and the ecu is NOT deleted it would still start but it would shut off immediately im thinking its gotta be a problem with your starter or the flow of power to your starter, try jumping power to your starter directly from the battery, if the donor car was auto check the neutral safety switch and the brake pedal switch, the clutch safety switch if its a stick
Thanks, After checking the starter it sounds like only the solenoid is working. The car was a manual and I have the clutch switch connected, but I was thinking the same thing about the key. I've found someone who can make a standalone harness so I may go that route if need be. I'll replace the starter too
There's no simple answer to why your engine wont start! The paper "Dismantling Megamos Crypto: Wirelessly Lockpicking A Vehicle Immobilizer" should explain roughly what problem you're trying to solve. What is your immobilizer version? Have you replaced the cluster or ECU? First, figure out why the immo is on....incorrect key. Assuming its not any other mechanical/electrical problem, the Immobilizer unit integrates(authentication protocol) the ECU, Instrument Cluster and the Key Transponder. Use any of these diagnostic tools(VCDS, EEPROM Programmer, VAG K-CAN Commander or VAG Programmer) to explicitly establish the status of the immobilizer. If the Immobilizer is on, engine start is not permitted. Now, for the IMMO delete, its total garbage/rubbish. Get ECU VONIX(USD35 cheap version) or EUR750 original, to find out if it does "anything". Have a look at the eeprom data fields, to see where the immobilzer status indicates on/off. Keep in mind the key's transponder ID is locked to the original ECU and Cluster. Apparently, you MUST change the RF chip(transponder) of your key, reprogram the Secret Key Code to match the ECU and Cluster's(use SuperVAG).
Euro wise makes a plug and play harness for swaps with the stock Ecu
Yo!? Where did this project ever go, no more videos???

Hi did you ever find out the problem?
