Start composting their old hay and poop. Plant vegetables and use the compost to feed the veggie plants. Full circle!

@@5foot3rodeo5 yes absolutely! Their poop is considered “cold” meaning it can be put directly in your garden without composting it first , opposed to hot manure that can burn plants roots if not composted first . 😊

I love the cleaning videos and the sewing ones. There is something ASMR about the sound of the vacuum and of your sewing machine for me.
I had 2 pigs when I was a kid ( I had more in later life) my two pigs were pumpkin and teddy. Ted was grey with a cowlick between his ears. Pumpkin was calico and medium hair. Those pigs did everything with me!!

Seeing channels like yours really make me happy.
I recently lost one of my girls (quite suddenly as she was 3 and a half) we don’t know what she had, but all we knew is that she was in extreme pain, so we drove two hours away (everything was closed) to put an end to her suffering. That was really traumatic and I miss her a lot.
However, I still had her sister and decided to adopt a New Guinea pig, but fell upon two girls at the rescue. They are also biological sisters and I decided to make some more space for them so I could welcome them into my home ❤
I’ve had them for a month and no regrets, absolutely love these two girls.

guinea pig poo can be used directly into plants as a fertiliser, & wont burn..just use limited for each plant.
Considering the hay and poop will naturally break down, I don't think it's that wasterful. You could compost it if you wanted but if your city does a "garden waste" type of trash and collection, you could also try that.
You could peel the label off the spray bottle that would work too maybe

Why don’t you start a compost pile with all the hay you throw out? I would think you could i corporate the hay so it’s not as wasteful for you. Then when you do any type of yard work or decide to start a garden with vegetables or even grasses for you piggies, that compost would be come in so handy.
i had my guinea boy, Malice, for around 6 or 7 years - which is a little longer than average! average is i think.. 5. He passed early this year, and it's not been the same without him. No longer having to chop up veggies, no longer having bags of veggies in the fridge designated for him.. It's very strange.
I subbed to your channel for some guinea content since, as of current, i'm not in a position to get more pigs (i would not have the time to care for multiple and i would prefer not have a single pig again. (malice was a solo male, and i regret heavily not having ever got him a herdmate or two.)).

I’m new here for a couple weeks now I love your videos and ur shop I also have some piggies I love them so much by far my favourite animal I also have rabbits and dogs. These videos are so satisfying I love cleaning there cages and watching at the end how nice they look. Fast forward an hour later and they made a whole mess already but there so cute 🐷😍

Have you ever thought of creating an island in the center of your room? One that would be freestanding (so you could wash underneath), and that would allow you to have storage inside as well as a space to put stuff and food during washes? It could save you a lot of trips back and forth around the room. You could even install a dirty laundry bag against it.
Anyway, the parquet floor is a great idea, it makes the room so much nicer.

Hello! I get Guinea pigs for my birthday (yesterday) I have proper care and got two, both girls,I picked up one of them to check them out and it looked like she had virginal discharge it looks kind of creamy. It’s white Kinda in a little bit cloudy. I don’t know if I should bring her to the vet. I don’t know if it’s an infection. What do you recommend I do!

i’m hoping to convince my parents about my getting 2 guinea pigs and for the most part, i have. they have a few concerns that if anyone sees this and knows how to answer their concerns, i’d be very grateful!
1 - how much are vet appointments usually and how easy is it for a guinea to get sick and how much would it cost if they did?
2 - is cleaning a 1 person job (say a teenage girl) could do? (my dad has had to take care of my fish and rabbit before in the past and doesn’t want to have to help me clean up again)
3 - i’m hoping for 2 female guinea pigs and i would love to know how easy it is to bond them (if i don’t get them pre-bonded)
4 - can i get colored wood items for them from amazon? (it’s a set with a house, a seesaw, a seat, a little bridge, and another weird thing) and i would also provide them with consumable toys!
5 - what litterbox should i get? i found one on amazon that i most likely will buy but if anyone has a link/description of what the litterbox should look like…
6 - would a 2x5 work for 2 female guineas? i’ve researched about it but i would like a confirmation from a pig owner :)

A 2x5 is great for two females! And yes cleaning is a one person job but can be hard as it’s daily cleaning, and vet bills are very very expensive as they are considered exotic animals. And two females are usually the easiest to bond

my vet appointments are usually 100$ at an exotics vet in lacey washington, but only because they do "herd rates" which basically means they charge a flat fee for 2-6 pigs as long as they all go in at the same time. although i have spent up to 500$ in a visit (it was a neuter visit) and 275$ for a medications needed appointment (my older boar is prone to getting upper respitory infections)
2) i own 5 (9 right now because i had an unexpected litter because i believed my older boar was neutered before i got him) and while it does take about 1.5-2 hours for spot cleaning, a full deepclean and laundry will run me about 10 hours between washing and drying and set up. when it was just my original 2 boys a full deepclean only took about 2 hours and spot cleaning took about 15-30 minutes.
3) 3 of my 5 adults are females, and while they are normally easier to bond than males i personally have had far better luck bonding my females to males than other females, and an excedingly easy time bonding my two boys.
4) colored and dyed wood is definitlely not okay, it can mess with their digestive systems and depening on the type of dye or paint used can kill the piggies by virtue of being toxic. natural, untreated wood is best, preferably no pine as they can't break it down as well as aspend, willow, or oak wood.
5) guinea pigs while they can sorta be trained to use a litter box, it will require at minimum twice daily soap and water scrubbing due to frequent urination, and they poop every 10-20 minutes and pee every 15-30 minutes so it's not like they'll run to the litter tray to pee or poop only there.
6) a 2x5 will absolutley work but if you really want to spoil them i recommend either a 3x4 or a 2x6 cage. make sure you have 1 water bottle, hide, bed, and food dish per pig and the more tunnels and toys the better. i house my single girls in 2x3's as i'm in the middle of purchasing more grids to replace the broken ones (they used to be housed in 2x4's) and my pair of boys (before finding out the older one wasnt neutered) shared a 2x10 with their girly.
if you get 2 boys or even 1 boy and 1 girl, definitly add at least an additional 2x2 to the cage as boars require more space than girls otherwise they are prone to fighting over territory.
i hope this helps, this is all just my personal experience from owning pigs for 2.5 years. also, the store i buy all of my pig supplies and cage materials from is kaveecage.net/
and if you live near a tractor supply store you can get a 9 pound box of hay for about 30-35$ a box, i get 5 a month due to how many i have but 1 when it was just the original 2 would last me about 3.5-4 weeks depending on their appetites. they also usually sell good tunnels, hides, water bottles, and toys for cheaper than pet stores but make sure you read ingredients as pigs over 1 year of age cannot have alfalfa hay unless they are pregnant or nursing and no guinea pig should be eating seeds or nuts of any kind.

I had my females in a 2 by 5 before I got a third and that seemed too be plenty of space! I wouldn’t buy colored things I have a few colored things but they are not reachable for them! I suggest buying from Austin’s website he has great stuff! I have never had to take my pigs too the vet so idk! And then I am 12 with 3 female pigs and I spot clean every night and do a full cage clean 1 or 2 times a week and I don’t have any help i find it easier too do it by myself and ussaly listen to music! I hope that helped I’m happy too answer any other questions!❤❤

My two boys refuse to use more then one water bottle, I have tried so many time but once the one is out they will not drink out of any other one.
Maybe try to slowly put it into the cage? I’m a beginner so I wouldn’t trust my advice but maybe try anyway
@@Guineapigs_slay There has been no issues with them sharing the one. I have put the in at different and the same time, tried putting water bowls in they just refuse. The person I got my first guinea pig says he did it with his first friend 😅 I took it off twice a day and it holds a good amount and does not leak

Yes, if anything is super soaked by pee, I’d recommend removing it from your cage and replacing with a fresh one! ☺️
