This is one of the early events that REALLY sucks you into an event stream. Such great lore and story with wonderful execution, it makes you feel like... you HAVE to help because you WANT to.
rumor has it that the Leyline Anomaly was materialized as the result of the magical imbalance after Mordremoth's death, but - as any Priory scholar will tell you - would soon dissipate away as the other dragons absorbed the excess released... until, one fateful evening, the LLA passed through the Hellion Forest just as Bria was ensnaring those hapless cubs... her powerful spells latched on to the LLA in its humanoid--- ermm, naked man form, and the rest is history - and to Bria we will all forever owe our stacks of Mystic Coins!
Felt really weird encountering this for this for the first time as a Human Necromancer. Still felt weird doing this event today as a Sylvari Engineer. Good thing turrets don't feel Fear!
I love these videos! And also that event, I play it every time I go into the map, it is really interesting, was surprised the first time. BTW I remembered, in LS S2 Rytlok disappeared when trying to solve the foefire ghosts' issue with Sohothin, and was engulfed by the mist, so then he reappeared as Revenant in Verdant Brink and we later were told that the one who helped him out there to recover the sword's fire was Balthazar. I wonder if they will follow the ritual and what was left about it since there were intentions in their end to solve it and now even more than before with Rytlok and Crecia as heads of the Charr as well the other legion's Imperators who are on their side.
There are some similarities between liches and the Ascalonian ghosts. With both being a type of undead and both being able to come back after being defeated. But the key difference being is that ghosts, like Bria, haven't bound themselves to an item to create a phylactery. But I suppose one theory that could come from this is that the ghosts are bound to Magdaer and Sohothin. Where Eir was trying to restore Magdaer to help make Logan and Rytlock friends again, but maybe the key to cleansing the Foefire is to destroy both swords. But all of that aside, there are many other liches in lore that are much older than Bria. Like Vizier Khilbron who was the main antagonist of the Prophecies campaign in Guild Wars and we also have Palawa Joko who became a lich sometime before 757 AE.
