- FRUGAL LIVING video is here! The cost of living and the price of food has increased so much that many people use a food bank or food pantry to make ends meet. The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.

Food Haul & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing To Be Able To Have
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled.
Frugal Living - Food Haul
I live a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

HOW TO GET FOOD BANK HELP?
Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get food bank help. Each county has a social services department that can direct you to food pantry resources in your area.

The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.

The little plant that resembles clover is Oxalis or Wood Sorrel. It blooms with a tiny yellow bloom throughout the summer. It is a perennial that grows a lot in lawns. A lot of people don’t like it and consider it a weed. I’ve always thought it was a sweet-looking plant with cheerful blooms. Other people must like them as well. Seeds for the pink wood sorrel are selling for almost $12 and bulbs for plants just like your plant are selling for almost $15. It’s a nice addition to your plant family.
Wow I had no idea on those prices! The birds dropped the seed and it just started growing in the planter. I have 1 more planter with the same kind of plant. I like learning about plants, because I'm a developing "gardener". Maybe over the next few years, I'll learn enough to make an in-ground garden one day!

If you like the grocery store flowers try checking your local grocery store dumpster of an evening. Usually at least once a week they have a clear out and fill up the dumpster. You can take five or six bouquets out of the trash and make a really nice arrangement for your house with the flowers that are still in good shape. My Safeway tosses them on Thursdays but every store is different. I've gotten several plants that way too.

Cupper in the penny? A silver coin would probably work better, but you should trim the ends of stems after you change water. It will remove rutting parts and make absorbence of nutrients better. Edit.

Sarah, if your food pantry ever gets Trader Joe’s potato salad pick it up because it taste really good in the store. It’s by the tuna and chicken salad and they’re always good. They have hummus garlic dip. That’s really good too. Sometimes our seniors center gets stuff donated from Trader Joe’s and the people that bring it to the senior center are always so nice. They bring us jalapeño and cheese bread this week Potato salad, basil and tomato soup and a great big cheese tray. The senior center has free lunch once a week and I try to go to it. Trim your stems before you put them in fresh water. They will stay pretty longer. 💕

I now have a mini fridge, with a freezer on the bottom. Quite a challenge for me as I’ve always had a full size fridge. Have learned a few things from you, thanks!
It is a big change to go from a full size fridge to a mini fridge! I don't lose food in the back of the fridge anymore!

Bagel mix is great. I put it on a lot of things. It's savory. Cream cheese on bagels, veggies, bread or crackers. On salads, favorite is on avacado toast with an egg on top
All of that sounds great! I especially enjoy Avocado Toast and I bet it will be so good on that. Cannot wait to try it!
Experiment with it. If I'm not mistaken, it's good on everything... including the bagel🤭
I truly look forward to your videos and enjoy them. I’ve been thinking about going to a food pantry but I’ll have to drive to it and see if it’s worth the drive. It’s one where you can pick what you want. I bought my sister some flowers at Kroger she would send me a picture ever so often the last was at 22 days there were about 10 left. I ask her what she did. She said she put them in a vase it was a quite a few flowers and after 3 days she changed the water and added sugar to the water. I was amazed. Jan

I have tried the Everything Bagel seasoning I use it sometimes it is pretty good. I would toast the jalapeno bread then top with guacamole and sprinkle the seasoning on that. You can use it on just about anything

Hi Sarah! Your plant definitely looks like clover to me. I’m also happy about your umbrella too❤😊As for your bagel seasoning, I think you can sprinkle it on whatever you want to for flavor. I’m almost certain you can use it on your salad too. I would try a small corner of your salad first, then taste it to see if you like it. I bake bread and rolls sometimes. I brush the bread with an egg wash, then sprinkle the seasoning on top of it. It’s very good. Some people like it on their cream cheese or butter spread also. Or, you can sprinkle some on your biscuits then put them in the air fryer. I would brush them with a little egg wash first though. It’s very versatile.

That Everything seasoning is great on...Everything! I have put it on pasta, bread, salad you name it. Remember it is salty so taste as you go.

Good morning Judy! It's 7:30 ish East Coast time! I'm so glad you are still subscribed as I was surprised to learn folks were getting dropped. TH-cam's acting funny these days! I think Mr. Turtle has a law background, he may have to get involved LOL. The produce was really nice at the food pantry. I think a local farmer donated it. There's a Farmer's Market around here, so maybe the farmers had too much inventory. I got those Trader Joe's baggies from the food pantry and I love it. You should also cut the stems of your flowers at a angle before putting in water, they last longer. And Luke warm water, not tap cold, is usually better

The penny has to be a copper penny (pre-1982 to work). If you make avocado toast with that guacamole, the bagel seasoning is great sprinkled on top. Great on salads too if the dressing isn’t “sweet” like Thai or balsamic.

the clover is actually yellow wood sorrel..taste a leaf it will be tart...some people put it in salads we use to eat it as kids...its a nice wild edible...look it up at four seasons foraging

Everything bagels and everything bread is where I’ve seen that seasoning. But some people use it for healthy foods to replace the bread aspect
I wonder if it would be good to add to a homemade bread. I used to have a "Paleo" type of alternative bread recipe. Might be fantastic added!

I use the bagel seasoning on meats, or homemade salad dressing. Beware it is salty.
That's a good point on the sodium! The labels are so difficult to read, sometimes it's hard to know what the salt amount is. I'm going to try it and see how it works out. I hope it's good!

I don't know if this will help or not. But my mom always said to cut the flowers at an angle at the end which helps the stem bring up the water. And then she is to put an Aspirin in there. Oh and she used to cut the ends underneath running water to avoid getting air in the stem.

The penny will work if you put it in when the flowers are fresh but also you need to cut your flowers at an angle at the bottom, that will help.

You can use that bagel seasoning on just about anything. You can season meat, salad, dips, ect.

@CareFreeLivingChannel Yeah I know one hundred percent that it is wood sorrel I just couldn't remember the name before. My aunt used to call it sweet clover but it's not a clover. It has kind of a lemony flavor.
The only drawback I have with the everything bagel seasoning is that it has poppy seeds in it. That alone will give you false positive on drug testing. Since I donate plasma, i steer clear of things like that. They do random testing on plasma so things wont get into the meds that are made for people.

Everything Bagel Seasoning: soooo many options! Peppers cut in half and stuffed with cream cheese and topped with EBS, Hard Boiled Eggs/Egg Salad/Deviled Egg topping, Mix with Hummus or Cottage Cheese for a great dip, Pigs'N'Blanket topping, Veggies with Olive Oil & EBS, .. and the most simple.. if plain bagels are on sale but you love everything bagels more, just sprinkle on top of cream cheese!

I love thrifting but om trying to thin out. I retired early this month and want to get rid of at least 25% of my belongings. If I don't own it I don't have to clean it.😅

The bagel seasoning is great on avocado toast! Also great on baked or mashed potatoes, rice, and stir fries.

Awww thank you very much! I've been working on making my home better this year. My home is considered small at 455 square feet, but it's a lot of room for one person. I love shopping at the food pantry!

Good Question! My mini fridge has a mini freezer. When I don't have room, it goes to my Man's fridge for storage.
