Nothing wrong with living the frugal living lifestyle! The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.

Food Haul & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing To Be Able To Have
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled. Sometimes the food is very out of date and not suitable. Please check the best by dates! If you receive spoiled items, then I'm sure it was an accident. Food banks and food pantries move a lot of inventory and there are times when the food has turned. They have a lot of food that comes through and they're not perfect. Volunteers help rotate and shelf products at the food pantry. Just keep your eye out for best by dates to make sure you are getting the best quality items you can find!

I live a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get help.
WHAT FOOD DO YOU GET FROM A FOOD BANK?
All types! I get all types of food from the food bank from unknown brands to name brands. Each shopping trip is different. I also get a lot of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Some food pantries offer staple items like beans and lentils, other food banks may even offer organic food.
HOW DOES A FOOD PANTRY WORK?
Every Food Bank and Food Pantry has their own set of rules, so make sure to call and speak with staff that can guide you to apply. Some go by how much money you make (income guidelines).
FOOD PANTRY NEAR ME TO DROP OFF FOOD?
The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.

Mr. Turtle and I have decided to revisit his vacation needs in 2025 so he can stick around for Christmas! Honey Bunny and Friends are well, just as sassy as they can be! I love to get teas at the food pantry, such a nice treat.

It's Wednesday. And I just finished cooking 2 turkeys. One was free. My co worker gave me. She didn't use it last Thanksgiving. She had it in our work freezer all this time. And asked if I wanted it. Of course I said yes! Then our grocery outlet had a thing that if you bought 35.00 worth of groceries. You got a 16-18 pound turkey for 3.99! So yeah! There is only my hubby and I for Thanksgiving. But I'm getting ready to take all the meat off the bones and can it. Minus the amount of turkey I'm keeping out for tonites dinner. And tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner. Then I'm taking the carcuses and putting them in my nesco roaster. And making turkey broth and canning that too. Want not, waste not! Hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving!

I use zip lock sandwich bags and gallon bags for left overs in my fridge i love it if thing don't get used I just pitch them in the garbage nice and easy

The sauerkraut made me remember my husband and how much he loved it. He liked when I would cook any kind of pork (roast or pork chops) in the crockpot with sauerkraut. Thank you for the smile and good memory of 59 years spent with him.

I don’t know whether you work or not I’ve never seen one of your videos before. But for a single woman to go to a food pantry and get food that women and children might be getting I don’t know that just doesn’t seem right to me. I’m a single senior woman, and I would never think of going to a food pantry. And I live on a very low budget.

Yes, there are rules and restrictions on how many items each shopper is allowed. The number of items can fluctuate depending upon the inventory!

I loved that first salad you made. I am not doing much on Thursday - my adult son is working so we are doing Thanksgiving with his inlaws on Saturday instead. My work had a catered holiday meal last Thursday and I brought home lots of leftovers from that - I had both ham and turkey to use up this last weekend. I got rid of most of it for lunch today, but I still have a carryout container of green beans to use up or freeze soon. I took a whole pan of gravy home too that will get used for either pot pies or soup later. I ended up pulling a frozen pizza out for dinner tonight for something easy.

great assortment of good food from the pantry. i grew up with a lot of sauerkraut (german heredity) and love it. with not much of a sense of taste/smell, i can pick up the sour and the salty from sauerkraut. i hope you have a good week and wish you a happy thanksgiving.

I haven't gone to our food pantry since the last time. I went because it was almost empty. Basically, they hardly had anything because they packed boxes for people to come pick up. Or there's a few that get delivered. So I think I'm gonna have better luck getting some food if I have it delivered. And our commodities through Salvation Army is also extremely low. The last time I went so I haven't gone back.

The food pantry has guidelines on how many items a shopper is allowed! It depends on the size of the household and the inventory available. It can fluctuate!

I hope you and Mr. Man will have a wonderful holiday. I have been trying out different quick roll recipes. My regular go-to roll recipe is too labor intensive with cooking potatoes and running through a blender until smooth. I tried a 30 minute recipe Monday. My mom is allergic to dairy so I used her almond milk and margarine. She thought it was the most delicious bread she had eaten in a long time. Tomorrow I have a similar recipe that uses warm water instead of milk. I bought bread flour so I hope it will be a little lighter. However, there are no true failures in my mom’s opinion when it comes to yeast rolls. I’m looking forward to your Christmas decorating video on Friday
