Feta is wonderful!! Cook up some of those diced veggies you got, add some scrambled eggs and put the feta on as a topping. Delicious!! Sprinkle on lunch meat and roll up for a keto snack. Use as a salad topper. Sprinkle on taco meat. So much flavor packed into feta. God bless 🙏🏼❤️
Thanks for the tips! 💞😊😋
When mom was alive I'd cook for her all the time. I'd take roast, cream of mushroom soup and sometime I'd add onion to the crock pot slow cook it for up to 10 hour. Mom loved it that way
When the weather gets hot we do a lot more slow cooker meals for sure.
I found it odd when I went to the USA that stores don’t keep velveeta in refrigerated section. Our stores always do. I’m sure you don’t have to. Just funny how things are different. Great looking things from your food pantry today. Blessings from Atlantic Canada
Thanks for sharing!! Yeah, it is different all over. 💞 thanks for watching and commenting
Idea: soak your breakfast granola overnight in water or milk in the refrigerator. It will soften it for your absence of teeth.
Great idea, I'm going to have to try that with a protien shake. Yummy 😋 Thanks 💞
Feta cheese is great in a Greek salad. It’s kind of creamy it reminded me of goat cheese a little bit.
Sounds great!
There is nothing like feta. You crumble it into salad. It can also be used to flavor other meals. It’s great. Keep a little in your refrigerator for about a week to eat. Freeze the rest.
Thanks for the tips!
Wow, very nice grocery haul you got. I like feta cheese. I make a salad with it. Cut up tomatoes, cut up cukes, avocado, and feta cheese with Italian dressing to marinate it in. You can make the salad with any veggies you like. And omit any veggies you don't care for. Its good. Those M & M's look yummy. Thanks. (I am also a type 1 diabetic. So I have to count carbs too)
So many great ideas 💡 Thanks for sharing. Counting carbs and consuming less of them really helps keep blood sugars in range 💞
Nice haul and nice ideas on what to make with your haul.
Thank you! 🤗 and Thanks for watching ans saying such kind words in your comment. There is not enough kindness in this world.
Nice haul! ❤
Thank you! 🤗
Really nice haul Candace. Your idea for wraps using the chicken and Buffalo ranch dip actually sounds delicious! Maybe a little shredded lettuce and a drizzle of Bleu cheese or ranch dressing...Yum!😋 Thanks for sharing. ❤
Nice haul and there's some healthy food also
Yes, so grateful. Thanks for watching 👀 🙂
My favorite way to use Feta is in this recipe.
Feta Turkey Burgers
By Althea
Ingredients
Original recipe yields 4 servings
1 pound ground turkey
1 cup crumbled feta cheese
½ cup kalamata olives, pitted and sliced (we use black olives)
2 teaspoons dried oregano
ground black pepper to taste
Directions:
Step 1
Preheat the grill for medium high heat.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine turkey, feta cheese, olives, oregano, and pepper. Mix together, and form into patties.
Step 3
Lightly oil the grate. Place patties on the grill. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning halfway through
Thank you 💞 😊
Cross rib is a top quality roast and can be cooked many ways especially pot roast
Thank you 💞
Feta is a dry, salty cheese..Delicious! I make an omlet using spinach and feta a lot. I also have had it on pizza and salad. many uses if you like it!
Thanks for the tips! 💞
Hello there . I am a new subbie on your channel... I am from Pennsylvania!
Hello!! Welcome, I hope you are enjoying my content thus far. I LOVE getting new subscribers, and I especially love learning where they are from, Wow Pennsylvania! How are things where you live? Do you have food banks there? are they ones you can shop at, or are they drive through, and you get what you get? Are the price of groceries in Pennsylvania sky high. like they are in other places of the country? Oh I am so excited to have a new friend. Welcome
@@CandanceBrewer ty I am enjoying your content 😊 Things are fine where I'm at lol ... Yes we do have food banks and that depends on which food bank you go too tho ..Some of them u can just go inside and signed in n grab your bag and sometime you can picked out a few things .... The weather up here has been in the 70's and 60's .. The gad price up here is nut $3.89 per gallon... Yes ma'am our food up here are very expensive for example our milk is like almost 4.00 ...
Sorry, prices are high there as well, but it's nice to know we are kinda all in the same situation. 💞
@@CandanceBrewer yeah hopefully soon the prices will go down
Hello I'm from Pennsylvania too 😊

Feta and spinach egg scramble delicious
Good to see you. Love the video 😊
Thank you! 🤗
The protein can be used for smoothies 😊
Yes, Thank you. 💞
Great haul!!!❤❤❤❤
Thank you! 🤗
Feta is crumbly, sort of soft, but not as hard as parmesan. It doesn't melt like cheddar or mozzarella, but it does get soft. It is used crumbled over hot dishes, green salads, marinated vegetable salads, pasta salads, antipasto plates, pasta dishes and baked whole for an appetizer. I've heard of people subbing it for queso fresco when they can't find it. You could crumble it over street tacos, enchiladas, a bit on your beans, etc. Speaking of Mexican food, I would be tempted to use that taco sauce as a marinade for chicken and make some fajitas or street tacos.
So many great ideas 💡 Thanks 💞
Just a head up about the feta... We love it but we only put it on our salads. Okay we don't have a big imagination here but the heads up is my daughter has always called it feet cheese. And there's a reason why, it does have a strong odor to it if you know what I mean. But once you get past that it does taste delicious. And you can marinated it in olive oil with some Italian seasoning and put olives the cheese and other things in and it's wonderful for an antipasta dish. Got to thinking you could add the salami with the olives and cheese and have a small easy to make antipasto dish.
Good to know thank you
❤😊
💞😊
Our food banks are seriously slowing down, possibly stopping.
My last haul I got a can of corn, a box of Mac and cheese, about 6 small, mushy potatoes and a couple of cans of LaCroix soda. For three people.
I'm sorry 😞
Great haul good morning ❤
Thanks so much. Good morning to you as well ❤️
You really got a big haul ! So many useful items what a blessing !!
Yes it was! I'm so grateful 💞
I am going lagoon may 4 think I maybe going Saturday may 11 think
We will be there on May 10th and May 11th for Nationals Dance Competitions 💃
hey Candy, the feta cheese I would use in it quiche.
I would make the roast with carrots and potatoes and bake for 2 to 3 hours at 350 degrees season as you like in the beginning
Great idea. Thank you 💞
Bellpeper apple cucumber salsa then sprinkle feta on top and 1 table spoon olive oil and cilantro
Cold pasta salads are great, too, for feta.
Great tip! I need to try that. Thanks 😊
Feta is a strong flavoured cheese made from goats milk and popular with Greek and other Mediterranean foods
Thanks 💞
Feta cheese salad, with chicken.. or grilled chicken feta bake with tomato
Feta is good on salad or 🌮 🌯 ❤
I'm excited to try it 😋
I’m still new to the diabetic way of life. Eating more and feeling so much better. The biggest improvement has been my eyesight and it’s so much better. I’m injecting about 1 ml of insulin each day.
I'm glad your eyesight is improving. That's wonderful 😊
Feta makes a great macaroni and cheese!! 😋
Good to know, I didn't know that.
Yummy chicken idea
Thanks a lot, I try
❤
💞
I got some of that taco cooking sauce one time at a food pantry it was 2 years past expiration date I gave it away. I'm fine with about 6 months but 2 years no
Our keto cereal was dated 2021, it is 2024, and that cereal is amazing 😋
That school yard snacks can be processed for breading meats
They were peanut butter cereal. So probably not, but they tasted delicious 😋
You can crumble and sprinkle the feta over Shakshuka. You probably will not use it all in one dish. Sautee the peppers and an onion in a skillet. Add a large can of tomatoes- diced is my preference. Add red pepper flakes for a little spice. Let simmer. Use the back of a tablespoon to create divets or craters in the sauce - 1 for each egg you choose to use (1-2 per person). Cover skillet until whites of eggs are done, but yolks are jammy like a fried egg. Turn off heat, top with crumbled feta and serve. It's delicious and hopefully something you can all eat.
Yum! Your idea’s all sound good. I love Shakshuka!!
Thanks for your video, Candy. You looked extra pretty today. It’s cool that you’ve got a fan so close to home.
The feta cheese has kind of a tangy, salty and it can be sharp or mild depending on the type of feta. I’ve always put it on Greek salads. I think it’s delicious. You could make a spinach pie and put it in with that. Delicious also, you could just search feta cheese recipes and I’m sure you would come up with some good info. I have had the Zevia soda. it’s sweetened with Stevia instead of aspartame. I like it, but if you’re used to aspartame, it might be different. You always have lots of good ideas for using protein powder and protein drinks and different things. Good for you. Thanks for sharing!😍
Thank you. Sounds delicious 😋
Thanks for watching 💞
Hey Candance
Hey 👋
Feta can be used in salads...
Thanks, that's what I thought, but wasn't sure.
Hi Candance! Great haul! Bob Evans is local to us here in Ohio, its the best! Imho! Barely any grease or waste and great flavor! All the dates are best by dates, stuff doesnt instantly go bad on that day! Lol the texture may change . Now on chips or puffed corn can go rancid because of the oils they use, you can tell if its not goodby smell and taste on things like that. Id love to go your food bank! Already chopped veggies and fruits? Thank you so much! Lol i would love to get a beef roast! Ive been so hungry for it, was going to get one the other day but @$30, I passed! That was the cheapest i could find and it wasnt even very big! I like to put onions potaoes and celery around it with onion soup mix, but i also love having mashed potatoes and gravy with it toomom used to make it that way the first night and she used cream of mushroom soup mixed with the drippings for gravy for the potatoes, the next night she would add bbq sauce to the meat snd we'd have bbq sandwiches with it, could also make beef stew, vegetable beef soup(my favorite soup besides my chilli!) I wish i lived out West I love the mountains! Have traveled out your way when my husband was a OVR truck driver,I saw 33 states when i was able to ride with him for 6 months!(we usually made it home most weekends!) I loved the traveling part! The riding not doing much part wasnt too fun, but saw s lot I wouldnt normally got to see! The Grand Canyon, Salt Lake,Largest Rubberband ball in the world! The Grand Staircase of Escalante! We got to see most things after he made his appointments. He normally had to drive nights to make his morning appointments(picking up or delivering. Didnt make a lot of money working for a owner operator but did get to see a lot of our great country! I joined your Facebook channel and have been enjoying that group and this channel! Take care!
Where was the beef roast $30? That seems so expensive. I would love to drive all over and see the whole USA. How fun. Thanks for joining my Facebook group. I'm glad you're here 💞
@@CandanceBrewer Ohio Kroger, it was on "sale" $4.99 a lb. The smallest was $30, it wasn't very big at all and looked like a lot of gristle! I was "unhungry" for it real quick!Usually you can make 2 or 3(maybe more?) meals out of it, this looked like we'd only get 1 maybe 2 if we were lucky(!) meals out of it!
Oh wow, yeah that's no good. Hopefully they'll have a sale soon with better cuts of meat. Is Kroger, Smith's? We have Smith's her in Utah, and Kroger is the store brand.
@@CandanceBrewer yes I think Krogers owns or runs Smiths, they have several different named chain Grocery stores
Feta is salty so don't salt stuff u add it too until u taste it.
Good to know
We have freezes up to mother's day
Lucky lucky you 💞
I'm not sure i seen this..
Bob evans is breakfast sausage
As your resident Greek viewer, allow me to give you some options as to how you can use up your block of feta. First of all that is a blessing because the block of feta will always be a 100% better than the crumbled stuff that supermarket sell and pass off as the real thing is a disgrace.
It is creamy in texture and has a salty flavor. It is not a cheese you grate. Prepare your salad as wish snd cut up a piece of feta and crumble it over your salad. We put it over Greek salad made up of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and red onion. However over any sslad is just as delicious.
We also just est it with some freshbreaf, olives and tomatoes as is, notin a salad.
We also put it in spinach pie but that is too detailed and multiple steps required.
Finally, you can put half the block in a fush durrounded by cherry tomatoes and topped with olive oil. Bake it until the tomatoes have burst oodn and tender. While that is baking boil your favorite short pasta like penne or fussili. Drain and mix itinthe feta tomato dish.
I hope I have given you some simple ideas, I did not want to overwhelm you with. The more complicated ways of using it. Please keep us posted with what you make using the feta.
All these ideas sound amazing. I think I'm gonna try the pasta one
@@CandanceBrewer You will love it. Please try to show it for us.
How to convince people who wont go to the food bank out of embarrassment!
I'm not sure how to convince people to go. I just know more food is wasted because people don't go.
I'm sorry but I didn't catch why you write in your title this will be the last time at this particular food pantry. What is the reason for that?
It's the Last Time for food pantries this month. Sorry if it was confusing.
@CandanceBrewer Yes because the words 'last time' were in capital letters and it didn't say 'for April'. I was sad that your community was maybe losing a food pantry.
Oh I thought it did say for April. I better fix that
Your still young 😊
Thanks 💞 😊
Salads speggetti on chicken
Yummy 😋
nice job, have you ever cut out gluten diary and sugar for a week?
Sometimes
@@CandanceBrewer Amazing does it make you feel better and the arthritis subside or go away? Id love to hear about it
When I'm eating gluten and sugar, I feel worse, and my joints ache. When I'm not eating those, I feel so much better. Sadly they are so addicting and hard to break free
@@CandanceBrewer i totally get it , and it is hard, Im doing a 90 day breaking the addiction blog, you. might find it interesting the things that come up on there. with co dependency and abandonment and the food addiction - check my bio for the link if your open to it
Feta is goat cheese,
Oh good to know. I had no idea
I believe it's usually sheep's milk cheese.
It’s good on pizza
Oh thanks. I wouldn't have thought that.
I would pass the feta cheese on to somebody else
I’m somewhat new to your channel and not meaning to be rude, but I heard you mention your teeth. Do you have issues wearing your dentures?
Yes. They are not cutting right and need to be adjusted, but the dentist who made them told me to find another dentist.
@@CandanceBrewer Oh my goodness! That’s terrible. Have you tried getting assistance in your area for getting new ones?
No, but I need to figure it out, I've just been crazy busy with a teenage daughter who's getting ready to graduate and has had several dance competitions the last few months, it seems I haven't had a minute to spare.
@@CandanceBrewer I’ve been there. We moms usually put our needs on the back burner.
Correct. Doing it right now, Senior Cottillian is on the 4th. Nationals Dance Competition is on the 10th and 11th. Mothers day is the 12th. I'm trying to get Codee's Graduation Quilt Completed asap. Seminary Graduation is on the 19th. High school graduation is the 20th, planning a graduation party 🥳 for the 25th. Dance Recital is on the 29th. When is it rest time.
Great haul❤❤
Thank you! 🤗 Thanks for watching 💞
