This was exactly the topic I have needed to learn, without realising it beforehand. I find myself becoming intimidated by the detail, not knowing where to stop, so not actually beginning though feeling overwhelmed by it all. My greatest thanks for making this video Louise, I have actually broken through the resistance barrier for having seen it and started painting again. My kindest regards to you.

Yay it’s Friday! Sit back with a cuppa and enjoy Louise and a good giggle. Love just watching your paint and water and brush control. It’s like meditation. Beautiful bird. Wish we had some parrots and cockatoos here as normal residents. There is a flock of green parrots that appear now and then here in the area, ( Houston)but we think they are escapees and I never seem to have my camera...

Thanks Alison. I know it's not easy to get photos of birds. I have a huge lens that I use. I've always got my camera on it's monopod with the big lens attached ready to grab whenever I see birds in the garden. Sometimes I'll sit out on my hanging chair and wait for them. We have forest all around so it's usually just a matter of time before they show up. I hope you had a lovely weekend.

@@LouiseDeMasi my camera is in the kitchen, with good zoom capabilties, but not always attached to the tripod. I keep thinking monopod might have been a better way to go. Our kitchen and living room look out onto the backyard and the feeders so wild kingdom city style can happen frequently. We have Coopers and sharp shinned hawks that zoom through looking for lunch all the time..I must learn to appreciate the blue of the jays and the red of the cardinals...and go to the zoo for others... thanks for all you do.

Louise, I love your videos! Do you happen to know anything concerning the fact that Arches, using animal byproduct in theirs sizing, supposedly contributes to that sizing possibly "spoiling"? I've heard that this is why we get those random, funny spotting and odd areas with the Arches paper that refuse to absorb paint. I am unaware of the validity of this information, but I am very curious! Xoxo

Hi, yes most definitely. The videos I put here are just teasers. The videos on Patreon take you step by step through the entire painting.

@@LouiseDeMasi Thank you. Probably very ambitious for a first painting, but I absolutely love it!

@UCskLBSynyJbW7RAkNx8hx4w I've made two indexes. One on my website where you can see the paintings of each tutorial: www.louisedemasi.com/new-index and another word index on Patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/34865676

Is a “nice neutral gray color” about the same as Neutral Tint… except you get that nice separation of colors in this case? (Sorry about the edits)

I don’t think I got the first month free, but that’s ok, I like supporting other artists
