  • I paint a Protea in watercolor and I add depth by increasing the tonal values at the front of the flower.

    Watching you paint is very satisfying (and a bit mesmerizing!) Your mental process here regarding tonal values makes great sense -- thank you!

    You have GOT to do a hair tutorial. I have long hair so it wouldn't be for me, but DANG your hair is cute! I want to get a senth of how you get the shine and body in your hair! This was a great tutorial. I'll try it because I struggle with details on botanicals, and you gave several tips I hadn't heard! Plus I love viridian so I'm always jazzed to see it featured! Hope you had a splendid vacay!

    Lovely Louise! We had lots of Proteas when we lived in Cape Town, they certainly are gorgeous, even when dried. I am so happy to see the limited palette once more - thank you for your tireless efforts in teaching us to mix colours. Look forward to the full tutorial but I can use these techniques on some other works I am doing currently! Happy days!

    I'm new to your page & am really loving your videos. I'm trying to lessen the amount of detail I'm putting into my paintings, which your videos have been very helpful with. I would be interested in seeing a painting tutorial of a small garden or an area with varied wild flowers. I'm trying to learn how to make a group of flowers look like it's supposed to but without all the extra detail that I'm having trouble with. Thank you!

    Lovely painting, I love the softness of this Louise. Louise I have a birthday this month and have asked my family for money towards new brushes. If I were to buy Rosemary and Co which ones would you purchase first, say 3 - 4 of them?

    • @acatinthecradle
      @acatinthecradle 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new Red Dot Pointed Rounds are exceptional! Pure synthetic and hold a great deal of water for a synthetic brush. I recommend them highly against the series 33 Kolinsky's. Not sure what Louise is using here but I would like to know that too just in case there's another brush I need to get. LOL! I highly recommend Rosemary's "eradicator" and "smooshing" brushes also....🤗
