In this video we demonstrate in clear concise terms what separates the least expensive products on the market from the most diamond looking. This is the 4 part series all rolled into one 41 minute program. We get a lot of questions asking if our fancy shapes are cut with the same philosophy as the rounds featured in this video. I couldn't give a damn which one is more colorless, that's insignificant for me. Bomb fire, bomb brilliance, good clarity and we good to go. I'm a solid gold jewelry shopper, but I welcomes the moissanite.

I love my moissanite! It's the 1.8 carats (the equivalent of a 2 carat diamond). There is no way I would have ever asked my husband to buy me a diamond. I've looked up comparable diamonds, although my moissanite was just listed as "white". I understand that you're showing things from a jeweler's perspective, but I'll be honest. I couldn't tell the difference between any of the stones you lined up. I'm happy with my ring, I'll proudly tell anyone who admires it that it's a moissanite, because I love the gemstone. When you come down to it, that's really all that matters when buying jewelry. Now, I did pay more for my moissanite than they're charging for it on Alibaba, but I was paying for the jeweler's time and expertise. He did an amazing job on my custom ring set, and he deserves to be paid for it.

Yeah, it's ok usually, but if your not Fn around you, buy the real real because you know what it is, and that's enough. I wear the real bloodiest of diamonds and love it because I'm a cold-hearted cut throat apex alpha and weather treat my jackets with children's tears.

  • @tawnikitari

I got a C&C 9mm (around 3 carat DEW) Moissanite and I absolutely love it. And I LOVE that it's a 9.25-9.5 on the Mohs scale! So it's basically just as durable as a diamond. I've read that natural Moissanite is even more rare than Diamonds, given where it comes from naturally, occuring in meteorites ☄️ Even though mostly ALL Moissanites are man made. But I don't care that they're man made. I love the ethical thought behind it. Most diamonds now are lab grown anyway too. Blood diamonds are beyond expensive. And frankly, I wouldn't feel comfortable if I knew someone was actually hurt or killed mining my gem. So it doesn't matter to me if they're man made or not. They're beautiful 💎 I get so many compliments on my ring. I dreamed of having a 3 carat diamond, but I knew it would cost more than we could ever afford. So we found Charles & Colvard and immediately I was interested 😍 Plus we got the best deal! My ring was originally $6,600 but we got it for $2,000. If I had gotten a 3 carat diamond ring, it would have been upwards of $20,000 or more for the one I dreamed of having. So... MOISSANITE FOR THE WIN! IDC WHAT ANYONE SAYS! And as long as the inclusions aren't visible to the naked eye without a loupe, I don't care! I've seen some pretty low quality diamonds where you can see the inclusions with the naked eye and it's not ideal for an engagement ring.

I see people being so defensive on both sides. If you feel the need to justify your choice maybe you made the wrong choice. Just saying 🤷‍♀️
If you feel like writing about how much you saved with a moissanite, maybe deep down, you feel insecure about not spending as much for your stone. Maybe you wish you had a diamond.
If you feel like saying moissanites are too sparkly or not as pretty, maybe you feel insecure about other people finding some cheaper stone prettier than your expensive diamond. Or maybe deep down you know diamonds are overrated or feel guilty about the choice.
Either way, people should get what they want not what they think they should get.

  • @Gemini530

Generally speaking, the moissanite is more beautiful than a diamond. But there are certain cuts that the diamond can look better. Moissanites only look better in round, cushion, and arguably in emerald cut. Diamonds look better in princess, asscher, marquis, radiant, and pretty much any other cut other than round and cushion. Though a moissanite is more beautiful overall, the diamond will always be more special. For me, I prefer moissanites over diamonds. That’s because I like a more fiery and sparkly stone.

Moissanites are more beautiful than a diamond? I guess to each their own. But since to me it's subjective, the more sparkly it is, the less attractive it is. Before I knew about moissys and diamonds, this lady's ring was so sparkly I didn't want to look at it because it was hurting my eyes. It definitely hit the sweet spot in that particular lighting. Now I know it wasn't a diamond not that it's a big deal. But I have a diamond now (husband proposed with), and it's so sparkly probably because it has less lighting leakage. Not sure if I like it too much because it distracts me lol

Thank you...this taught me a lot. I have a family piece that my grandad bought in Pretoria SA in 1920. It's an old mine cut 1.9 carats set in a vintage rose gold ring. It was costing a fortune to insure. 5 months ago I found a supplier who got me an old mine cut moissanite with a F rating (just like mine). Had my jeweller recreate the setting and put the original in the safe. Side by side in the same setting I can't see a difference (untrained eye maybe but I have been wearing the original for 30 years). The old mine cut makes it look realistic

Also, another consideration whether a diamond or a Moissanite, it's better to have white inclusions over black inclusions and it's more ideal to have the inclusions closer to the girdle rather than right under the table. Also, specks spread out more ideal that clustered together. I'd rather have 5 inclusions spread out around the girdle rather than 3 inclusions clustered under the table.

That was totally a doublet. You’re right about that. I could tell you were surprised when you had it magnified around the girdle. They probably put the harder material on top of the pavilion. Which could be CZ to "fix" the carat weight issue. After the patent expired or whatever that C&C had for the production of Moissanite....... The floodgates opened, and all kinds of ethically questionable companies started doing crap like that. I've yet to see a Moissanite that looks like a diamond. The fire is totally different, due to it being doubly refractive. I have a few C&C pieces, and they look pretty. But in a more Flashy-Rainbow-y way than natural or lab-created Diamonds.
I think a good cut for Moissanite would be your August Vintage Cushion Cut or an Old Mine Cut. Because the fewer and larger the facets..... The better. When you start faceting the pavilion of a Round Brilliant or Flanders in Moissanite, it begins to give itself away around "the edges."
They can look blurry when you look down into the gem, where each facet meets the next.
But they are resilient little suckers.
The Round Brilliant Moissanite Fire or whatever C&C had branded it years ago, is VERY greenish yellow in certain light. But most of the time you’d never know it, because it’s throwing so much fire and scintillation out, that the body of the gem almost appears colorless, or darker than white like a Diamond or CZ tends to. If that makes any sense. 😆
I bet Moissanite would be a great alternative to Demantoid Garnet, if they could get the right shade of green without going too blue.
I LOVES ME A DEMANTOID boy howdy!

All mossanite is made in china almost 99% of them.. and they are very cheap.. they cost almost 14 dollars US a carat... So don't pay for a stone that have no resale value.. no one in the world talk about resale value of mossanite

Thank you for another informative video! Personally I don't think you were being "self promotional", I think you were being honest. When the science backs up your information you're not "bragging" you're telling the truth as it reads in all of the reports....that's just an honest description.
I worked as a private chef for over 15 years and I'm not being a braggart when I say that the Maine lobster I was serving was fresh off the boat, I was being honest as I had purchased it that morning from the lobster fisherman on the dock. It was a fact and a superior product.😁😉😉
