Love Lauri, but I think it makes most sense to trade him. It will actually allow us to tank and build more assets to draft a star or trade for one.
His prime could be used to get deep into the playoffs on another team.

if you send lauri for picks, the next year you are 2 stars away from being a contender. better to keep him and try to develop talent internally or pick a guy from free agents.
Or you trade him for more picks which allows you to actually tank, then you get a star in the draft and use your surplus of picks to trade for another star

Good video. Only thing what i do disagree is that option thing on start. Lauri can be 2nd option for sure. But not first because he is off ball player.
I would like see Lauri get traided, unless jazz get that star level PG what they need. If they get that PG, jazz can be contender quite soon with right moves. And those moves is easier to make if that PG is there. Imo everything in successful team starts from PG. In both ends on the court, everything starts from him. IF that position team have legit star, everyone else game come easier. But if jazz dont get that PG, jazz dont be contender in this decade. Maybe it takes way longer than that.
Just dont trade him to lakers, that would be crulest punishment what any player can get. LeScapegoat and JJ reddik, we all know how that will fail miserably. But if Lauri have to go there, refs give him million FT because thats what nba refs do. Help lakers every way they can. Sometimes i really wish that nba some day fix that ref problem. Nobody can take nba seriously before they fix that. Its not ok when refs try fix games that obv way.
I would like Lauri go to spurs. One of best coaches in the league and Wemby. If spurs add Lauri + PG and they will be very good team. Maybe even champions in couple years from now if everyone stays healthy.

People act like tanking is a magic formula to win 😂 , if thats true why dont all the teams except maybe the top 8 teams do this . Look at Detroit they are in the lottery every year and they are still terrible every year .
That's the game you play tanking nowadays, every team has to deal with the lottery. You can strike gold or absolutely whiff. But I promise you this, Utah is not an attractive market and will not bring you many stars if any on the open market so as a smaller market team you have to draft your way to get big names and hope and pray they resign

Trade him, tank, develop your young guys, draft a star within the next few years. Then go big game hunting while you have all the young guys on rookie deals. Then Championship

Would trading Lauri Markkanen to the Bulls for Lonzo and 4 1st round picks make sense?
Lonzo probably won't play but if he does he allows Jazz to play George at 2 and brings defense. Since it's likely he won't play Jazz could go full on tanking. Jazz team doctors can have 1st look at Lonzo who is probably a top 15 pg when healthy but it's a lottery ticket just like the draft.
Bulls stand point is they can try to piece together a team with Giddy, Lauri and Lavine (and maybe a sign andtrade with DeRozan). In the East with the Knicks, Celtics, Bucks and 76ers the 1st rounders could be valuable sooner than later.
That would make absolutely no sense for the Bulls. That core is a 1st round exit at most and they'd trade their future away for mediocrity.
Sending him to basketball purgatory is insane, but those picks would definitely make me hit a double take because whewwweeee
