I have loved Splatoon since I started playing Splatoon 2 (my first Splatoon). It is so hard to tell people how great this game is who haven’t played it. I hope it loses the stigma that it’s a Nintendo kiddy version of an FPS. This game feels great to play and is one of the most unique games every made and will continue to be for a long time.

I couldn't agree more man! I love how weird this series is. From those comedic moments of silence on subway surrounded by grotesque fish, to fighting an evil telephone or bread-shooting-oven-robot. I'm looking forward to seeing what new, wacky ideas this series brings in the third installment. Giant mechs painting the whole desert??

I had been familiar with Splatoon as a concept ever since it came out on the Wii U, but I didn't own a Wii U, so I never got to play that game. When I got my Nintendo switch at the end of 2018, Nintendo released a special online demo of Splatoon 2 about 2 months later. I played that demo, and almost instantly fell in love. I knew I had to get the game after that, but I wasn't willing to spend $60. So I went to Walmart and bought it for $50. And the rest is history. So I've been playing Splatoon since February / March 2019. As a grown ass man, I've never been more happy to be a squid kid. 🤣🤣🤣
Love your comments on octo expansion! Im pretty bad at it, but the vibes and effort put into stuff like the chat logs keeps me so into it that it feels like a core part of splatoons soul to me.
[sidenote before someone meaner than me points this out- even though it has a few elements from the vaporwave aes, octo expansion is just a general 80s throwback! it has stuff from outrun vaporwave and all kind of retro-wave stuff, but us vaporwave fans can be very snippy about all that getting lumped into it, haha]
I love splatoon, but splatoon 2 specifically, because it saved me. I was in a dark time of my life, so I decided to get a copy of splatoon 2 after I lost my first one 3 years before then. It was one of the most magical and happiest times I’ve ever had, and made me feel happy again. I still cry listening to Fresh Start cause it reminds me of much this game helped me, and I couldn’t ask for anything better
This channel will get super popular. You make great videos. The only suggestion I would have is to try to add some variation to your voice tone as it is a little monotone, but overall this is a great channel👍

That's a good point, I didn't really think of that. But at least there aren't excessive microtransactions yet, let's just hope Splatoon 3 won't have any.

Man, i used to play this game all the time at my friends place, i was complete shit at the game but we would still have a ton of fun. Having just bought a (for me) VERY expensive pc the only downside is that i can't play splatoon without buying an additional switch unless nintendo decides to port it to pc. That will probably never happen, but i can still dream and watch videos like this to make me feel better.

I've played all of the games and i've loved all of them. Personally, splatoon 2 is my favorite. the music is the main reason why i love the series, but Splatoon 2's music is the best out of all the games.
Another thing to love splatoon is it’s lore

This probably won't happen but I wish they would consider porting the first Splatoon game onto the Switch. There's millions of people like me who love the series because we played Splatoon 2 but haven't played the first game. I'd love to experience the first game without having to buy a Wii U

10:30 I wouldn't say that ; there are : Kirby, Metroid, Zelda and Xeno (xenoblade+xenosaga+xenogears) sagas who have better musics. And it's only for Nintendo franchises ! But i agree with you when about the fact that Splatoon musics are fits really well with the game style !

Hey Hero, I'm a new viewer so take what I have to say with a grain of salt, but I feel like there's only a few things holding ya back from being a really spectacular channel. Sorry in advance if this comes across as rude rather than constructive.
1. Although I love your discussions revolving around Nintendo and the overall content is great, your script-reading is quite monotone (perhaps intentionally) and can cause my attention to wane even when the point you're making or the concept you're introducing is pretty interesting.
2. You're pretty professional in your overall demeanor. While I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing and some folks might certainly prefer it, injecting a bit more life into your videos (which I imagine would primarily be done with humor) could make your videos even more interesting.
3. The name Nintendo Hero comes across as a little basic. Perhaps this is just me personally and no one else feels this way, but YT channels with company titles in their name are almost always...lousy and uninteresting. (unlike yours) If I were you, I'd simplify my name to Hero (or maybe Nero if Hero is too generic and you like wordplay) I seriously doubt anyone will become confused as to what type of content you make due to your video thumbnails and titles. Looking at other Nintendo TH-camrs who have grown enough to have made a job out of it, (which may be something you want to do, I'm not your mom though so do whatever you want) I can't find a single one who has "Nintendo" or "Switch" in their name. Examples would be Arlo, AntDude, and Scott the Woz.
As previously stated, I'm not your mom, I'm some random dude on the internet who likes your videos about immortal cephalopods playing deadly sports with paint guns and dreaming up a sequel to a game where you imprint your identity onto a handless character who runs around playing ping-pong and shooting down friends in that bizarre plane-balloon game. I just really want to see your channel explode into the massive masterpiece I'm confident it can be with a few minor tweaks. Good Luck!
Thanks for all the feedback and advice! I'm definitely always open to trying to improve my content. My monotone voice is a pretty consistent complaint I get, and I really am trying to make it better. Recording is just tough for me, but I'll keep trying to make it sound more natural and less robotic. I could probably try adding in more jokes and comedy, but I'm always scared that people won't think it's funny, but that's just me being overly anxious. As for the name, I think I'll keep it for now but I can totally understand where you're coming from. Thanks for the comment and hopefully I can continue to improve!
I was thinking about getting splatoon 2 but after the sequel announcement I don't know if I should... I might just wait for E3 and then decide
Just wait for Splatoon 3, unless you have the money to buy both without worrying about it. The online is not what it used to be and you will probably be busy with other games until June/July 2022 anyway.

I have never played Splatoon 1, and I have played Splatoon 2 easily over 5000 hours already.
I think single player mode is the worst part of the game, but Octo expansion shows what they could do if they put effort in it, easily my favourite DLC ever, and I hope Splatoon 3 single player campaign is as good as Octo expansion.
I love Splatoon but does anyone else not like the control scheme? I find it exceedingly difficult to use compared to like every other shooter I've ever played
... I just want to say that Ninjala is, how do I say this, Splatoon adjacent, and has some strengths where Splatoon has weaknesses and vice versa. Its a f2p game, but there are many ways it is just as good or even better than Splatoon. Of course ultimately one is better than the other, one is a multi-game franchise made by one of the biggest game companies ever, and the other is a single game made by a company riding on f2p successes, but Ninjala holds a special place in my heart, and if they ever release an OST, hard drive.
