Splatoon made such a great first impression as a series, and I’m glad that it’s continued to grow. It’s world building and atmosphere has been super cool. The fact that it became as big as it is while starting on the Wii U (a console I love but just didn’t do well in terms of sales) is super commendable.

The world has always been my favorite part of splatoon. The devs took so much care to make it feel like a lived-in universe with plenty of bright and cheerful places, but also darker, somber areas with their own intertwined history. It gives the world so much depth and makes it so easy to feel immersed-I’ve really never seen another game do it quite like splatoon. I also grew up with the series from the beginning, and it really does make every little change between the games feel so impactful. I’m glad people are talking about this, because I think it’s one of the most impressive worlds Nintendo has ever built
Yeah, even with the lack of much deep/amaazing stories, the world itself is so solid that I just want to see more of it in general. The world feels alive and lived in and that is what really brings me back every time even if the games themselves have a LOT of issues.

I absolutely loved the setting of octo valley in splatoon 1. The world music perfectly set the mysterious and alien world of the octarians and the sunken scroll music in the background made you feel like you found a dusty object in the attic with cobwebs on it packed with history
they also really *get* internet culture. when you watch the characters text or message one another it all sounds so natural and like you looking at something we as players might say
The music is one of the main reasons why I love this franchise so much and why I pretty much dedicated a huge part of my YT channel to appreciating the tunes. The Splatoon soundtracks are some of the most creative game OST I've ever heard and the games would not be the same with different music.

Would've loved a mention of the incredible multiplayer PvE mode Salmon Run. It and the Salmonid species have a super chaotic and unusual vibe to them, with a culture completely unlike inkling and octoling culture, also tieing in with the S3 Story Mode and GrizzCo, a shady company doing sketchy things behind the governments back. Also sidenote, Octo Expansion was seen as the best DLC Nintendo has ever released, and it might probably still be.

Someone who used to baby sit me got me Splatoon 1, and I fell in love immediately! I beat the story over like a year because the Wii U was at their house lol, but I was determined to finish. Now as someone who just finished the Mr. Grizz boss fight I found myself stuck for a moment after the credits as I looked back on everything Splatoon has brought me through. The Squid Sisters, Pearls’ awesome BOOYAH and having my little buddy turn into a massive salmon! I can’t wait for the DLC and the adventure that awaits us. Thanks Nintendo for all of the great memories 🥹
You really put into words just about everything that grips me about Splatoon. The gameplay hooked me from the first test fire, and the music and characters and world building - the _vibes_ - kept me coming back excited every time.
Every time I play the game, I feel like I'm living in the world. I feel like I am the inking I play as. Literally no other game was able to do that. Splatoon is special.

I really do think that is the thing that describes splatoon best, from the music, to the visuals to the gameplay and getting angry when playing competitive. The game is just a vibe, it’s a world where people just have fun, and it’s nice to escape to that world.

I feel almost exactly the same way about splatoon- the world building has always been something I’ve been passionate about and I often find myself immersed in the world, I’m insane about the vibes and aesthetics of it. The fact that all the music you hear in splatoon tracks back to in game artists is my favorite to tell people who aren’t as familiar with the games. I think about octo expansion often as it’s by far the best splatoon story experience yet, for all the reasons you mentioned. Dedf1sh is also one of my favorites!
I got into Splatoon after Chaos vs Order and it changed me forever. It immediately became my comfort game. Eventually I went back to play hero mode in Splatoon 1 and loved it. The world, gameplay, music and characters made it unlike any other game. It's been one of the only games that I could always look forward to. Even had to take time off from the game after using motion controls for hours on end. For Splatoon 3's release day I sat with it nonstop and full-cleared Alterna at like 3am. I had to move early after that, but I was so happy that I didn't mind and moving while in such a good mood felt worth it. Last time I looked forward to a game like that was when I was a kid. I was taken back to the living room playing my favorite game early Saturday morning all over again. The community is awesome on top of that.

The atmosphere built when the octo dlc comes in is so good, octo expansion has gotta be the best thing to happen to splatoon(or one of the best). It really laid the path for a better splatoon 3 singleplayer and was just amazing

The singleplayers and splatfest always have the greatest vibes for sure. I remember watching the first Splatoon 1 Story Mode Trailer again and again because of how the trailer was cutted to match the song Tentacular circus. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before and I immediatly fell in love with it. And then by the time of the first splatfest I was stunned by how awesome the atmosphere was with all the lights, the nighttime maps, the colours, the music, etc. Out of all the games though, Splatoon 3 has my favourite Splatfest Atmosphere and Singleplayer. The mysterious underground vibes of octo expansion with the deep sea metro, the sanitized enemies and the creepy telephone were already insane, but Alterna beats it for me. The mysterious rocket in the center, the creepy transmissions, the unique sites, the ambient music, O.R.C.A. telling about the end of humanity and the arctic look was peak worldbuilding for me. They basically took everything good from OE and perfected it. My favourite artists are probably Deep Cut, Wet Floor and Deadf1sh. Great Video, I cant wait for Side Order now :)
I started with 2 when I skipped 1 before, thought it was fun but not the greatest. Then octo expansion came and everything changed. Got more into the games and especially the lore. Thank You Splatoon!
ive just realised, that the splatsville spawn is an combination of Splatoon 1,2 and 3. The part infront of the Lobby kinda looks like the Inkopolis plaza, the part to the right looks like the inkopolis square with the more tightened "hallway" like look and everything new is well, Splatsville
I'm the same age as agent 3.. I've grown and aged just as much as the very first character I played as in this franchise and it truly feels like I've grown along side this game
I wish the first splatoon game gets a remake i know they made the update for it but it's not the same some how. Some part of this video gave me the chills and soo much nostalgia that i felt a long time ago. You going to get a new subcriber.
this is why I've been obsessed with splatoon for 7 years. the amount of lore is just amazing and the music puts everything together. I also listen to splatoon music daily. it's motivating when I have to walk to school or home from school.
Thank you SO MUCH, for giving octo expansion its own part of the video. The gameplay, the story, the level design, the world building, the atmosphere, THE MUSIC! Its all so good and is still to this day my favorite experience in splatoon and even maybe in all video games. It is hands down the best DLC I have ever played. To be fair I haven’t played that many DLCs but still, when there are so many DLCs that just add a new character, or a new map or something, this one feels like it brings you into a whole new world.
I cried watching this because it really is true. Splatoon is just amazing- and all the memories I made with it are even more so I’m so glad that on that one day in sixth grade, I had asked my friend for game recommendations and she said “Splatoon”

Splatoon is probably one of my favourite franchises ever. The thing is, I don’t particular like most shooters, nor am I good at any of them. The thing that makes me love splatoon so much is just the *vibe*. The colours, the characters, the lore, everything is just so immersive and fun. I started with splatoon 3 a month after the game came out and I’ve been playing it ever since. Love the music the characters the customization of your playable character the amount of weapons in the game so if you get bored using one weapon there’s plenty to choose from that gives a different type of experience! I’m excited to see the future of splatoon
I joined the Splatoon community in late 2020 when everything had just ended in Splatoon 2 when I got the game and it blew my pre-teen mind away, and I got hardcore into it. It got me through middle school and by god Splatoon 3 is incredible even if I only pop back in and load up the game for splatfests and even if my skills aren’t great anymore (Sploosh is a foot weapon, suck it) I still love seeing the drawings in the plaza and getting to actually play the game
I am an absolutely huge Splatoon fan. I was 8 when Splatoon 1 released, and now I’m 16 years old, and I still love this franchise to death. The only real problems with it at the moment are the balancing of the weapons, the netcode, and the Tetris-ahh map design. If they could fix that, Splatoon 3 would be my favorite game ever. (I mean it still is my favorite Nintendo game ever but). The music of the series is indescribable, the vibes, as you said, are *immaculate.* The story is really, really cool, the characters are so lovable (Marie, my beloved), and the concept itself is so creative and amazing, and the gameplay, while having some really unfun low points, has some of the highest fun possible in gaming. I just love it so much. The only series that can compete in my opinion is Sonic the Hedgehog, and it’s for the same reasons too. Either way both series have changed my life for the better so much and I will be forever grateful for being blessed with such amazing gifts.
The music is definitely my favorite part of this series, every single song is beautifully made Splatoon has such a special place to my heart and its just crazy how fast time passes by, I’m excited for the future of splatoon. 💕
The Splatoon Franchise has changed my life forever because everything about is completey Godlike from its Aesthetics, Music, and most importantly the Character Designs. Honestly it feels like it was a blessing from God that this game exists in our lifetime which I'm very grateful it did.
Watching this video felt like a trip down memory lane. I cannot lie, I have teared up several times because this game series just makes me so happy and seeing it all together is just very heartwarming for me. I've been playing since the first game and seeing clips from it made me so happy and nostalgic.
I'm a fairly new person to the Splatoon scene and just, i fell in absolute love from the preview to now 11 months later and over 1k hours in. I even buckled down and 1000% S2's story mode and am one level away from 100% OE. I love the sheer amount of world building that went into the series. Music, weapons, clothing brands, everything has a touch of lore that makes it feel incredibly real
I remember fighting agent 3 in a moving car ( which really messed with the motion controls) and the sun made the screen really hard to see. That was one of the hardest battles I've ever had. Also Pearl's yell always reminded me of the 2014 Godzilla roar.😂
this video reminded me how much splatoon is important for me almost as much as mario kart wii and minecraft after it. I really think splatoon doesnt have all the attention it deserves and im 100% sure that if it was realeased on pc with keyboard + mouse it would be a huge competitive game but also its not that bad if it's not that well known. thanks for this video it reminds me some amaizing memories !

It's always hit or miss when you introduce a new franchise as a gaming company whether or not it'll be a flop, and i think it's really cool how splatoon became such a beloved series.
Something i love is the singleplayer never truly repeats in terms of style. Splatoon 1's is more street-ish, Splatoon 2's is girly-ish (due to Callie being in charge of leading the octarians during this mode) , while OE Looks exactly like what it wants to be, an 80s themed expansion Whlle Splatoon 3 and SO feel like orderly wastelands. Though Splatoon 3's only halfway due to the extinction event-disasters that happened there. I genuinely can't Express how much i love the Splatoon world building. So ill just leave this fragment here
I only started playing with 3, but to have lived to witness a new series being born feels like a once in a lifetime experience, not to mention how much I can define my general thoughts and feelings at the time each game dropped. Also, Alterna's atmosphere was such a unique feeling to me, and I mean in a way that only my personal favorite games make me feel. I really can't even put it to words. This series truly is something else lol
Another thing abt this game that makes it feel so real for me is the clothing brands buying a piece of clothing from said brand feels like I'm actually buying it with real money

Hearing Whirlpool Tune always makes me very emotional, Splatoon 3's story mode music is So amazing, from the world tracks to the level tracks.

The mysterious rocket in the center, the creepy transmissions, the unique sites, the ambient music, O.R.C.A. telling about the end of humanity and the arctic look was peak worldbuilding for me. They basically took everything good from OE and perfected it.
My favourite artists are probably Deep Cut, Wet Floor and Deadf1sh.

I started with 2 when I skipped 1 before, thought it was fun but not the greatest. Then octo expansion came and everything changed. Got more into the games and especially the lore. Thank You Splatoon!

ive just realised, that the splatsville spawn is an combination of Splatoon 1,2 and 3. The part infront of the Lobby kinda looks like the Inkopolis plaza, the part to the right looks like the inkopolis square with the more tightened "hallway" like look and everything new is well, Splatsville
Everytime it showed clips from Splatoon 2 and Octo Expansion(This is the game I entered the series with) it brought me back. Man I love this series

this is why I've been obsessed with splatoon for 7 years. the amount of lore is just amazing and the music puts everything together. I also listen to splatoon music daily. it's motivating when I have to walk to school or home from school.
Thank you SO MUCH, for giving octo expansion its own part of the video. The gameplay, the story, the level design, the world building, the atmosphere, THE MUSIC! Its all so good and is still to this day my favorite experience in splatoon and even maybe in all video games. It is hands down the best DLC I have ever played. To be fair I haven’t played that many DLCs but still, when there are so many DLCs that just add a new character, or a new map or something, this one feels like it brings you into a whole new world.

Splatoon is probably one of my favourite franchises ever. The thing is, I don’t particular like most shooters, nor am I good at any of them. The thing that makes me love splatoon so much is just the *vibe*. The colours, the characters, the lore, everything is just so immersive and fun. It’s difficult to describe what I love so much, but I just absolutely love it

I started with splatoon 3 a month after the game came out and I’ve been playing it ever since. Love the music the characters the customization of your playable character the amount of weapons in the game so if you get bored using one weapon there’s plenty to choose from that gives a different type of experience! I’m excited to see the future of splatoon
I joined the Splatoon community in late 2020 when everything had just ended in Splatoon 2 when I got the game and it blew my pre-teen mind away, and I got hardcore into it. It got me through middle school and by god Splatoon 3 is incredible even if I only pop back in and load up the game for splatfests and even if my skills aren’t great anymore (Sploosh is a foot weapon, suck it) I still love seeing the drawings in the plaza and getting to actually play the game

I am an absolutely huge Splatoon fan. I was 8 when Splatoon 1 released, and now I’m 16 years old, and I still love this franchise to death. The only real problems with it at the moment are the balancing of the weapons, the netcode, and the Tetris-ahh map design. If they could fix that, Splatoon 3 would be my favorite game ever. (I mean it still is my favorite Nintendo game ever but). The music of the series is indescribable, the vibes, as you said, are *immaculate.* The story is really, really cool, the characters are so lovable (Marie, my beloved), and the concept itself is so creative and amazing, and the gameplay, while having some really unfun low points, has some of the highest fun possible in gaming. I just love it so much.
The only series that can compete in my opinion is Sonic the Hedgehog, and it’s for the same reasons too.
Either way both series have changed my life for the better so much and I will be forever grateful for being blessed with such amazing gifts.
The music is definitely my favorite part of this series, every single song is beautifully made Splatoon has such a special place to my heart and its just crazy how fast time passes by, I’m excited for the future of splatoon. 💕

The Splatoon Franchise has changed my life forever because everything about is completey Godlike from its Aesthetics, Music, and most importantly the Character Designs.
Honestly it feels like it was a blessing from God that this game exists in our lifetime which I'm very grateful it did.
Watching this video felt like a trip down memory lane. I cannot lie, I have teared up several times because this game series just makes me so happy and seeing it all together is just very heartwarming for me. I've been playing since the first game and seeing clips from it made me so happy and nostalgic.

Man the feeling in side Order when you have to match the rhythm the First time you beat the final boss
I'm a fairly new person to the Splatoon scene and just, i fell in absolute love from the preview to now 11 months later and over 1k hours in. I even buckled down and 1000% S2's story mode and am one level away from 100% OE. I love the sheer amount of world building that went into the series. Music, weapons, clothing brands, everything has a touch of lore that makes it feel incredibly real
I remember fighting agent 3 in a moving car ( which really messed with the motion controls) and the sun made the screen really hard to see. That was one of the hardest battles I've ever had. Also Pearl's yell always reminded me of the 2014 Godzilla roar.😂

I really think splatoon doesnt have all the attention it deserves and im 100% sure that if it was realeased on pc with keyboard + mouse it would be a huge competitive game but also its not that bad if it's not that well known. thanks for this video it reminds me some amaizing memories !

It's always hit or miss when you introduce a new franchise as a gaming company whether or not it'll be a flop, and i think it's really cool how splatoon became such a beloved series.
Something i love is the singleplayer never truly repeats in terms of style. Splatoon 1's is more street-ish, Splatoon 2's is girly-ish (due to Callie being in charge of leading the octarians during this mode) , while OE Looks exactly like what it wants to be, an 80s themed expansion
Whlle Splatoon 3 and SO feel like orderly wastelands. Though Splatoon 3's only halfway due to the extinction event-disasters that happened there. I genuinely can't Express how much i love the Splatoon world building. So ill just leave this fragment here
I only started playing with 3, but to have lived to witness a new series being born feels like a once in a lifetime experience, not to mention how much I can define my general thoughts and feelings at the time each game dropped.
Also, Alterna's atmosphere was such a unique feeling to me, and I mean in a way that only my personal favorite games make me feel. I really can't even put it to words.
