I feel like the series captures the timeless feeling of myths and fables. The feeling of being young and being fascinated by the world, wanting to adventure but ultimately coming to terms with growing up.
The thing I love most about Zelda games is how when you get to the end, you crave starting over just to experience it all again with hindsight. It's not just that they are replayable. It's that they make you genuinely miss the beginning of the game at the end.
The Legend of Zelda is a series that’s always been there for me when I need it. Just seeing this world and the characters that live in it just always feels good. Especially when you’re a gamer like me who also plays some of the most mean spirited games you can think of. As fun as it is to play games like GTA, Hitman or any games like those ones. I will never forget that there is a video game series and company since I was a kid. The Legend of Zelda and Nintendo in general has done so much for me and many other people.
I literally grew up with zelda and it means a lot to me. OOT was my first video game ever, and I have beat almost all of them, with the Oracle games being the last 2 I need. I will forever love this franchise.
So excited for botw2 it will be the first new Zelda game (not including skyward sword hd) that will release after me getting into the series. Zelda has always about intimidated me but botw made me a fan
I love the Zelda franchise so much... but mainly for its lore and universe. I can't finish a Zelda game, the only one I've finished is Ocarina of Time :/ But I love all the theories, the details, the connections between the games and all the stories these games tell!
Start with either Wind waker, Twilight Princess or BOTW. I used to have the exact same struggle when it came to Zelda games. Wind waker is pretty linear and it was the first Zelda game I completed. Twilight Princess is also pretty linear but it has a lot of long tutorial like sequences that may bore you out of continuing. Hope that helps this is tied for the top spot of Nintendo franchises for me. It's between Pokemon, Metroid and Zelda for me.
I was mostly a Super Mario kid growing up. When I got into high school with a switch I was curious on Breath Of The Wild with all the excitement I’ve been hearing. Playing it for the first time felt nothing but magical. There are still some Zelda games I haven’t played yet, but I really want to some day.
Even the intro...tears lol I'm so happy that I've been able to experience this franchise. I go back and forth between countries a lot and as much as I love visiting new places it can be really hard. From just playing Zelda I feel like I actually want to get out of bed every day. Because of Zelda ive been able to find my passions. Because of Zelda... ive been able to make new friends and have stronger relationships with older friends too. ive never been happier...I love Nintendo so much 😭
Zelda is a gift from god we have games like twilight princess with great music dungeons and story or games like links awaking that got me through part of quarantine. Than games like breath of the wild with countless things to do or just wasting time on the great sea on wind waker the Zelda sires is one to remember and live on forever.
Of course music HAS to get its own category in something like Zelda. I've never seen a video game franchise that ties music quite so seamlessly into the narrative. There's just something about Zelda music that carries so much depth and emotion.
Such a well put together video! I didn't look at any of the statistics prior to watching this and it felt like it was a youtuber with hundreds of thousands of subs and just as many views. I'm shocked your content is underappreciated. Keep up the great stuff!
Wow, great fckn vídeo man, this is so well said, I loved the theme and it is so well made, thank you for loving Zelda with me. Cheers and have a great TOTK
this was such a good video! im bookmarking it so that whenever me or somebody else are wondering why they should (re)play a zelda game, i can just shown them this video!
I would like to highlight the music from the Vah Medoh questline in Breath of the Wild. All of the themes present are breathtaking. Revali’s Theme, Rito Village, Flight Range, Attack on Vah Medoh, Teba’s Encouragement, Vah Medoh Interior, Windblight Ganon, it’s all just phenomenal. Whenever I replay Breath of the Wild I always turn up my volume when doing the Medoh quest just so I can hear the incredible music
Legend of Zelda is just timeless. Can pick up and play any of the Zeldas and get into them (graphic preference aside) Except for Triforce Heroes but did look like it was fun if you manage to get 3 players
A great video indeed! Yours are always of high quality and much thinking put into them. Thanks a lot! I am over 30 and I have been gaming since Famicom and Playstation 1 but Breath of the wild was my first ever Zelda game! That was my perfect entry title, because I believe it is one of the best games of all time. I remember trying Wind Waker HD for 5 minutes years ago, and I was immediately put off by the idea of cutting grass to collect money, it seemed ridiculous to me for an adventure game, I also didn’t like the graphics, so I immidiately turned it off. Breath of the wild on the other hand is catchy, realistic and smart. I put hundreds of hours in this game and it encouraged me to try other Zelda titles. I then played Link between worlds on 3DS and again I consider myself lucky to choose this specific title for top-down Zelda style. I didn’t stop until I 100% it and I consider it my 2nd favourite 3DS title after Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. I prefer it to Ocarina of Time 3D which I played next and I almost 100% it. Now I am looking forward to playing every Zelda title from the past, and I can now appreciate the adventure and uniqueness of each title. Such an amazing Series!
Some people said they don't like Zelda because they're being aimless and don't know how to beat the game, while liking linear games because the game always guide them. Are they right?
I'm one of them I think. I have nearly 1400+ hours on Fallout New Vegas, 800+ on Skyrim and circa 200 hours on other ones like Fallout 4, Outer Worlds and others. I love open world, but when I play Zelda... Is like I'm always going on the wrong direction, that if I follow a road I cant know what there's on the borders of the street I'm going on with my horse. There are not enough quick travels points, so if I want to try going on another route I have to return back to the other part of the map. That's why I think I'm not interested on playing Zelda, I totally feel that I'm inside an empty open world. In comparison for me there's really more that I can explore on the desert of the mojave in Fallout New Vegas
I love Zelda! I have played so far Ocarina of Time, Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, Skyward Sword Hd, and Majora’s Mask! I am so hyped for Breath of the Wild 2!
My top 10 all time: 🛡️⚔️ #10 A Link To The Past #9 Link’s Awakening #8 Twilight Princess #7 Minish Cap #6 A Link Between Worlds #5 Tears of the Kingdom #4 Breath of the Wild #3 Majora’s Mask #2 Wind Waker #1 Ocarina of Time
I really like hyrule field's night theme from twilight princess. Haunting, beautiful, and pretty sure its same voice sample they used for malon is the same one singing. Its one of the few tracks that doesn't get referenced or received a remix of some kind to my knowledge. If that same voice echoed in and out while in the depths i would've lost my shit.
As someone who never really got into Zelda games, but finally did with BOTW, what other games should I try? I started Wind Waker a while back but idk if I like the characters' designs, and the N64 games are too dated looking for me to really get into them. In terms of top down zeldas, I don't think I really enjoy them so mainly I want to know between Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and Wind Waker which is the best to try next?
Skyward Sword is probably my favorite out of those 3, it has amazing characters but it's really linear and a bit repetitive so know that going in. Also motion controls. Twilight Princess is also amazing, with great dungeons and boss fights. I would suggest Skyward Sword, I think it really compliments Breath of the Wild by being so different than it, but it's up to you
You should totally give the N64 games a chance, I know you said they look too dated, but the story and gameplay are so amazing! Ocarina is the better of the 2 in my opinion. Twilight Princess is my personal favorite Zelda, so I definitely recommend that one.
@@Stratilex maybe start with the 2d games. A link to the past, minish cap, the oracle games, links awakening on the switch. The more games you play the more you'll want to try the 3D games. Also if you like Dynasty warrior games then the Hyrule warriors definitive edition and age of calamity are great. The first game is a love letter to the franchise, the second game is a direct collab with Nintendo to make it feel like breath of the wild.
Never been able to get into it...any of them. I just don't get it. Wish I could, they seem to be loved. They're all seperate stories or?? Now, Metal Gear....Im in...Final Fantasy...cool. Just never saw the big deal with Zelda... Cheers to those who love it. I'm sure it's great.
