thanks, i did not had a multimeter so i had difficulty figuring out if it was the port or the wire, but as soon i started messing around with the wire it became obvious it had a similar problem to the one on this video

Adaptor was supposed to be 11V/3A. I believe higher amperage should be fine. But when I test with multimeter I'm getting 12.34V. I've discussed this with the seller and he is claiming the without load it shall show higher voltage than on the sheet. Is this an acceptable difference(+12%)? Or I'm risking to burn my device.

The port inside the laptop has a pin in the middle. Sometimes it breaks and falls out, and that's about $100+ repair. But if you can see your pin is still there, then you can bet on the 50/50 chance, lol.

It could still be either-or. You need to check the cord with a multimeter, as in this video. Or borrow and try another charging cord to see if it works better.

I felt that the video was not completed as the heading suggests. I was expecting to also see if it was not the charger that was the problem, but the charging port itself and how this would of been diagnosed.
Unfortunately, if the cord is good, there is nothing else you can do yourself. You can take it to a repair shop, and only they would be able to confirm if the port is bad or maybe there is another problem inside your device. About 20 years ago, it was easy to replace bad components, but not today.

Unfortunately, without a multimeter, you have about a 50/50 chance of damage. Try borrowing a multimeter or the same charger as yours from a friend/neighbor. If not available, buy a new charger. And if the new charger doesn't solve the problem, it's a port.

Basic (cheap) multimeters are always showing 1. If the numbers are not changing from 1, the charger is probably bad. But first, verify that your multimeter actually works on something else.
@@Your-Self Thanks for the reply. I have checked on other devices it works fine, i also checked charger's cord cable it was showing the current perfectly but when i press the charger very hard into the laptop's power jack it starts charging, but it has to be pressed really very hard.
If you know somebody with the same charger as yours, try it on your device. If it works, your charger is bad. But if it doesn't, your charging port is bad.

@Blactrov fixing the charger outlet on the laptop is not very easy. You may want to watch a couple of videos on how it's done, and decide if you are comfortable doing it yourself.

If your laptop charges only while you are pushing on the charger, and stops if you let go... the port is probably bad, even if it looks OK. If it's charging OK, but not holding a charge for long... the battery is probably bad (old), which may or may not be replaceable :(

That sounds like a charging port issue.
When you move the cab;e, it affects the charging port as well. Good luck.

In this case, it's best to borrow a charger from someone to verify charging ability.
If it's not possible, maybe buy a used one from eBay.

@Red Chris in your case you need to use a voltmeter (as on this video) to figure out if it's a bad cable or not.
