You and Greg work so good together,I can't believe just you two build these big barns.if I had the land I would have y'all build me a 50x80 pole barn, keep up the great work😊
Camera angles on this are so great! Whoever is operating the camera is going above and beyond. Thank you for that!!
Michael for the win! (I agree - Michael has really brought a new level of professionalism to RR).
@@billcunningham8485 I think he needs to be acknowledged a bit more - as part of the team that is building this place! His skills are exemplary. Do you know if he's just a friend or one of the family?
@@Sammywhat I have no inside knowledge of the relationship to RR (Kyle or Greg). My impression is Michael was hired on to take over the videography and editing for RR taking that work off what I assume was Kyle’s plate. The channel might be making enough to afford a “full time” person - again no inside knowledge - purely speculation on my part given my limited knowledge of TH-cam financials. Either way great hire by Kyle. I appreciate the humorous edits Michael adds… the butt blurs and the highlight of the missing tape over Kyle shoulder in this video…
@@billcunningham8485 HAHA!! YES!! That missing tape over the shoulder shot was as if it were planned. The dude has some serious skills! Thanks again for the heads up!! 🙏
Yes Great Video Michael I love your shots and the way you edit!!!
26:26 “Why’s this rocking so much dude?!”😂😂
Hahaha he was surfing
That has to be the most complete best insulated building I have ever seen in my over 30 years of building...coming together nicely..Happy Father's Day!!!
These 2 (3) work soooo well together. The videographer is on point and the attention to detail from Greg and his assistant is amazing 😜. Pretty sure cost isn't an issue here tho...
I think natural light tubular skylights would have looked great in the mezanine. I know you are done, but I think it would have added a nice touch. Even the roof parts would look fitting of the roof.
Great call
Next on RR Buildings, Kyle demonstrates how to heat his work shop with just one tea light! "Its a giant, fancy Yeti cooler, man!" Love this build!
Hey just wanted to let you know i really enjoy your videos .I get a lot of great information.
7:42 look at the dedication of the Michael the camera man, incredible
You mean doing his job?
@@NaenaeBoy i mean squeezing into that tight space on top of the rockwool with the camera and taking beautiful shot
@@NaenaeBoy It's okay to acknowledge when people do their job really well.
Both of you are like character from a cartoon movie because you're so funny. You try to have fun while doing an exhausting job. I enjoyed watching your vlogs. I hope we can get to see the total finish of the interior.
I’ve binge watched this whole series in a week
No way!!
@@RRBuildings I swear. I have cerebral palsy so I don’t get out much
I'm really looking forward to the finishes!
Love the cutting tip on table saw, NO DUST!!
There 1 ,thing you can say about Captain overkills ,of the world( RR builders included ) .. You don't have to go back and check their work for flaws . If you do find 1, it was symptom, of misinformation, or someone else's mistake . We try harder ,nothing in this world, is perfect ,but we aim, for perfection not perfect.. Great job as always.
My favorite insulation and blower door.
Thanks Kyle for putting together a series with your RRHQ 2 I love it incase I missed any video I will see it now thank you very much
I have been busy building so I may have missed it but did Kyle do a cost breakdown so far? This has to be over 500k but you know what, good for Kyle and his company. You can tell he's a pretty genuine, good dude that works his ass off. Good to see good people doing well in life.
Love the series! Now if that attic door had a magnetic seal, that would really stop air movement!
I absolutely need a cost breakdown on the materials used by the end of this series.
It's Super high performance but that has got to be thousands in rockwool alone.
awesome
lofty ideas lol, will do full watch, fit strong guys strike again, thxs for the education each time, got 40 years xperience, retired do lite work since older fun to review and learn new tech
Rockwool is the best! Love working with it!!
I went to buy some R15 & R 23 batts of Rockwool near me with some R38. Three month wait time! 😮
Now I know why. It’s all at RR HQ 2.0! 😂
😂🤣😂🤣
Good looking truck!!
If you like the wet look , I wonder if they make something you could spray on it? Like a polyurethane or something…looks great!!! We are going to do rock and not mulch!
I believe this will be the first video of a blower door test with a garage/overhead door on all of youtube. Or the internet for that matter as best I can tell. I have been searching for a long time for this particular thing. Can't wait to see how those (notoriously leaky) garage doors are detailed to get them air tight!
Heated wifh a candle, cooled with a few ice cubes...
Come xmas -- work at present wrap dept.
Koff koff , boy im itchy just wafching...
Carry on
This client is going to love this building when its done! ;)
The client is the builder.
you two are easily entertained....😀
Good job guys
Great work 👍👍👍👍👍
Like Greg, double thumbs up! 😁👍🏼😁👍🏼
The sound quality in that attic was amazing! haha
15:40 dude that is impressive
Greg Rocks!
Can’t wait for blowerdoor test
Kyle, been following for several years now and can’t tell you how much I enjoy and learn from this content. Thought about reaching out a while back to see if you needed a full-time videographer/editor but looks like you got that covered and he’s doing awesome. Keep it up y’all!
No hinge just fix rockwoll to the hatch then push up skip hinge for insulation. I built 2x6 hatch for mine full of rockwool
Your best video to date. 👍👍👍
Man! That building is going to be tight, tight, tight!!
I would be curious if the cedar siding has anything to do with the thermal bridging between the metal roof and sheathing. Because the metal roof is now sitting off of the sheathing, the thermal bridge is broken by that small air gap. Anyways, just a thought from an overthinker with no actual training 😂 Looking good! Love seeing the space coming together!
Nice work
Milwaukee should warranty your stapler. Might take some time so you can buy a new one warranty that one and then you'll have 2 😊
@43:06 The board used to frame out the loft opening looks like it has had some sort of diagonal releif cut that could affect it's strength? Or it could just be something unimportant like a pencil mark? Wanted to flag either way just incase! Thanks for a great series.
You guys are the bomb 🤣
Hey man; unless I’m blind… where’s the video of the blower test? Or did you just casually mention results? I remember watching the blow in insulation bomb but don’t remember you mentioning how this did. Looking for ideas for garage door sealing and such and figured I’d see how this bad boy did. Thanks!
Kyle Ninja Warrior!
Nice work! Just how many MILES of tape did you use on that building?
In our opinion we think it'll be a 4.4 all the way🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good morning happy Saturday 👍 😎👍✌️🙏🙏
I have seen you guys do so much majrex, I’m pretty sure I could do it myself now
Great video. You guys do this like a jigsaw puzzle.
Staging has never went up that smooth
I about shit when I saw that. I’ve never not sworn 6 times putting mine up!
😂😂
The stapler just proved it once again: It's not the fall that kills you; it's the landing!
Or the sudden stop !!
Than you for educating us on the Rock wool insulation methods.
I swear I felt that saw dust!
Hi guys love your show. Will the blower door test blow the access door up into the attack or does it have a latch??
0.42, because that is always the answer.
To life, the universe, and everything
I never would of guessed Greg was 10 years younger!!
Your camera guy is pretty good.
At the 16:00 mark is some stupid but fun stuff my brother and I would do lol
There was a video where you guys talked about those cool speed squares. Anyone remember who makes them? Kyle, you should have a page on your website where you list all the tools you use, at least the ones hard to identify in the shot. Thanks!
Martinez just like their hammers. But he said they were a prototype I think. Going off memory but I think that's right
What kind of shoes do you wear? And do they have a protected toe? Looking for my son who is in construction but still cares how his shoes look.
Post-frame Ninja Warriors!
What happened to your idea of using a bit of cardboard between the staple and the Majrex/plastic sheeting?
Kyle loves to say Majrex! He says it like its his lover or something LOL. Could be a drinking game every time he says Majrex.
Majrex . Oooohhh ooohh. Ahhhhh. Majrex.
Would it still be more expensive to use spray foam for air control vs. what you are doing here? I’m no builder by any means but in my mind the material cost would be way higher, but labor costs would be way lower. I also feel like your attention to detail would be very hard to find in a builder.
Hey Kyle, have you tried the new dewalt nailer?
Man, I wish you guys were near me , I’d hire you in a minute to do some work!
Can't believe you guys are doing this without masks. We use Rockwell in several houses and we're constantly coughing without masks.
this vid is why Tom Silva says " the money is spent in the corners".
*Summary in English and German*
* *[**0:55**]* *The Goal:* Finish the air control layer in the studio loft to prepare for a blower door test.
* *[**2:52**]* *Insulation:* Used a combination of R-38 and R-13 batts for an R-51 total value.
* *Air Sealing Challenges:*
* *[**1:01**]* Gabled roofline and shed dormer created irregular spaces.
* *[**17:42**]* Lack of top plate in post-frame construction made air sealing the wall/ceiling connection difficult.
* *Air Sealing Solutions:*
* *[**3:36**]* Used scrap Comfortboard to fill gaps and create continuous insulation through truss webbing.
* *[**19:40**]* Rolled myrex over top plate and taped it to create a termination point for the air barrier.
* *[**23:05**]* Built a 5.5" thick wall section to insulate a difficult end cavity.
* *[**39:13**]* *Attic Access:*
* Installed a new, fully insulated attic access panel from AJ Manufacturing.
* Modified the installation to better suit the building's structure.
* *[**49:39**]* *Final Steps:* Conduct a final walkthrough to ensure complete air sealing before the blower door test.
*The video also showed challenges and solutions encountered while framing and insulating the space, along with a bit of humor and banter between the builders.*
*Zusammenfassung*
* *[**0:55**] Das Ziel:* Fertigstellung der Luftdichtheitsschicht im Studio-Loft zur Vorbereitung auf einen Blower-Door-Test.
* *[**2:52**] Dämmung:* Verwendung einer Kombination aus R-38- und R-13-Dämmbatten für einen Gesamtwert von R-51.
* *Herausforderungen bei der Abdichtung:*
* *[**1:01**]* Die Giebeldachlinie und die Schleppgaube führten zu unregelmäßigen Zwischenräumen.
* *[**17:42**]* Fehlende Deckenbalken in der Pfosten-Riegel-Konstruktion erschwerten die Abdichtung der Wand-Decken-Verbindung.
* *Lösungen zur Abdichtung:*
* *[**3:36**]* Verwendung von Resten von Comfortboard, um Lücken zu füllen und eine durchgehende Dämmung durch die Gefache der Dachsparren zu schaffen.
* *[**19:40**]* Myrex über die Deckenbalken gezogen und verklebt, um einen Abschlusspunkt für die Luftdichtheitsschicht zu schaffen.
* *[**23:05**]* Bau eines 5,5 Zoll dicken Wandabschnitts zur Dämmung eines schwierigen Hohlraums am Ende.
* *[**39:13**] Dachbodenzugang:*
* Installation einer neuen, vollständig isolierten Dachboden-Einstiegsluke von AJ Manufacturing.
* Die Installation wurde modifiziert, um sie besser an die Gebäudestruktur anzupassen.
* *[**49:39**] Letzte Schritte:* Durchführung eines letzten Rundgangs, um die vollständige Abdichtung vor dem Blower-Door-Test sicherzustellen.
*Das Video zeigte auch die Herausforderungen und Lösungen, die beim Einrahmen und Isolieren des Raumes auftraten, zusammen mit etwas Humor und Geplänkel zwischen den Bauherren.*
i used gemini 1.5 pro to summarize the transcript
Please use PPE for rock wool, even if stone wool fibres are not classified as carcinogenic according to the nota Q of Directive 97/69/EEC and regulation n° 1272/2008 (IV). In the EU, we have had extensive discussions about the safety of these products over the last four years. Better safe than sorry.
I'm sure your going to rockwool the hatch
Kyle Ritchie :"What a feeling, when I'm taping up my ceiling"...😅😅
How miles of taping do you have done in that building
Go greg!
Kyle has that old man strength :D
Just when you thought you were safe from another episode on insulation and air control
Next, on American Ninja Contractors... LOL
The guys using the mezzanine for a jungle gym. Should have played the lava game. 😂
Is this building spray foamed in the walls
You could watch literally every stage of this build in 60 previous videos and find your answer…
Both of you qualify as American Ninja Warriors.
This thing is going to be more air tight than a nun
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Send the stapler in and have it fixed. Probably under warranty
Why do my ferrying strips always split!?!?!? I only put one screw in!
You guys trying out for American Ninja warrior next season? 😂
4.7 to 5
use board and batten around pool.
3.5 my prediction 😅
Hawaiian shirt fridays
You will be able to heat that building with a candle, in the dead of winter ❄️.
I think your blower door test will be 0.0001 because your builds are near-perfect.
Like if you agree🙌
P.S. could you do a video on finding a builder that is trustworthy and does good work like you do?
P.P.S. could you do a video on the whole planning/architect/etc. process before you even start breaking ground for those of us who don't know what that whole planning process looks like?
Thanks for all you do!!
QUALITY SELLS ITSELF,
ALL DAY LONG! ✌🏻
An old spice sponsorship might work Greg.
Bonus Ninja Warrior Content!
Can’t believe ur not wearing a mask while you’re messing with that rock wool . Holy cow
😃👍🏼👊🏼
Man, if I only had unlimited money.
love the video. but, the sound is clipping again
I Am curious to see how a blower door test works with those garage doors.
I think the test is only for studio loft"
Maybe?
@@torstenbrunke4026 I hope not. He did air seal and majrex the whole thing. Details & vids on air sealing regular buildings is everywhere on the internet. Not so with garage doors. Probably with good reason. I sure hope he tackles it because it will be something new & different and I imagine very challenging.
@@halglenn9102 we will see
@@torstenbrunke4026Well he did mentioned the blowerdoor test while doing stuff in the main space earlier….
