It took me 6 hours to wall mount a tv. I could probably build that cedar shed in about 365 days.

They should do a series that they take two subs and see how they do. Because it would take me 364.5 days to build that shed.

This was such an amazing concept. Thanks guys. The only thing I think the judge failed to account for was one had Two windows and the other skipped windows completely. That adds a different level of complexity and I think it may have played a role in his framing inconsistency. Honestly this was the coolest video I’ve seen in a long time and you both were So Impressive.

Thank you for thinking that ❤ but Gord’s build was on point. I personally like mine better, obviously lol, but the execution of Gord’s and his modern design attributes is what won this for him. And if I was in the city and this was in one of Gord’s yard transformations. I’d pick his too.

He knew an awful lot for only 4 years. I wonder what he did before that? I find it hard to believe being a property maintenance manager you would learn all that. Not to mention who hires someone as a manager with no experience at all? I'm not ripping on the guy. He did a great job. The camera work and all the editing cuts when the guy is inspecting the shed got old fast. When the guy was pointing stuff out inside the shed, and we couldn’t see what he was pointing at was sloppy. All the cuts especially at 1:18:10 were very bad. All the camera movement really took away my attention. Keep things simple, dont be afraid to go back after the guy is done talking and get the right shots and over lay that video into his commentary.

I don't care what anybody else says. That cedar shed is way better. The other shed the more modern one might have better framing, but everything else was just lipstick on a pig. He covered every defect with large pieces of metal plastic trim or fake stone. He used a prehung door and an ungodly awful system. The judge went over to the cedar shed and started talking about small gaps once I heard that I knew what time it was also, he didn't check this modern shed for 16 on center like he did the cedar shed. I love the show, but I hate to say it obviously this dude wins all the time so that people come back to watch the next episode in hopes that he loses. Clearly, the cedar shed was way better. Hands-down no questions asked.

Hey. I’m the guy Wood Bully went up against. I can tell you this was no bias and was fair down the middle. I knew where I screwed up and it was noticeable as soon as he went in. He saw it then measured. I do appreciate your comment tho and I like mine too. But Mike picked apart Gord’s too. 12 hours solo seems like a lot of time but trust me it was not. I didn’t get time to go and finish the lil things like putting door stop and more trim on but it is what it is. And I had a great time and def something I’ll always remember.

Insanity. Both are amazing for the allotted timeframe. 120mg per sip was hilarious. I could be wrong, but this is the hardest I've seen both of you sweat in the competition. I cant believe that Nick's only 4 years deep and did that in 12 hrs. I love the dutch doors but, from a waterproofing standpoint, they generally need to swing in. Lack of door stops was only a 5 minute oversight. Last critique of the cedar was the fairly disproportionate header. Slightly thicker than the legs and it would've looked a little more natural. I was surprised to see Nick's bracing rather than putting the trust in sheathing to square the structure but when the ramset plates were 1/4" off and the free floating shed was also off, I didn't know what to think. I've only had 3/1000+ sheets that weren't square. Definitely humbling and forces me rethink my level of trust in sheet goods in regards to default squareness. Cutting the preliminary fascias after install is definitely a solid move, why play the guessing game lol. Chalk line as a plumb bob is a pro move, you can do the same with a level, just put your pointer finger in the handhold and let it settle before you mark. Done it for a decade just to mark studs on house wrap before siding and it's worked well. I've been using the router for some openings but for some reason I still prefer the sawzall so seeing the router underperform was somewhat bittersweet ha. Above all else, I've never seen a video that would discourage cordless nailer ownership on this level. Oh man. My DeWalt and Metabo won't quit, in spite of the gripes I have with each. That was incredibly disheartening for some seriously established brands. A final note Gordon, I really would strongly advocate for a curtain. I'd weakly advocate for a standard set of materials and plans. These things are way to hard to judge when they're so entirely different on every metric. Either way, 1000% my favorite series of videos on TH-cam. Thank you for the effort and execution. Maybe someday I can go against you in a hanger nailer competition where I get to use my cordless PPN and you have to hand bang. Maybe I'll have the edge lmao

Nails should be 34 but sometimes are a few degrees off which causes the driver to not hit correctly. Usually this will cause nails that either don't shoot at all or will leave the head sticking up about a 1/4" with a driver mark in the wood to the side of the nail.

@@woodbullyltd people saying the other guy should have won isnt being disrespectful. ill agree there are some comments that are disrespectful but i also see ones saying things like ' the cedar house looks better'. that is also not at all disrespectful lol.

this was a lot of fun to watch man. id like to see more of these. 2 questions...why no horses? looks like a pair of saw horses each should have been in the rules, not bending over a million times for 12 hours might increase productivity. and why carry that drill around all day?

Thanks Man, and we had a few horses each. Maybe we just didn’t bother that day

I agree with the judge. Although if i were asked which one id rather own id probably pick the cedar one because i just like rustic style stuff but man the other building where you decided to use the black lumber for the corners and the brick for the front was a great call. Lol it was one of those things where it looked way too nice to be a shed. But both guys bullt great sheds. I wish you guys would do this in a 2 day time frame though. Then it wouldnt come down to small errors it would be more of s creative call.

Both Sheds Awesome. I prefer the Cedar. But that's who I am. The Modern approach shed is more structurally sound. This came down to rough carpentry versus finish carpentry.
There was a heck of a lot more finish Carpentry involved with the cedar shed. Massive amount vs cutting tin and asphalt sheet roofing. Visually from afar (meaning PC Screen) both were amazing.

Seeing as all the nailers where having issues I’d have to guess you have the wrong degree of nails for the nailers. Would explain the excessive sparks coming from them too.
