Mat, that was the best bike adventures series I have seen on TH-cam. Each episode was a highlight of the week. I look forward to your next adventure. I wish you well and thank you.
Hi Mat, its your friend John from Canada. I commented a couple a times on past video's and you replied once with encouragement for me on my plans to tackle the GDMBR in my 60's! I wanted to say thank you for all the video's you shot on this, your latest adventure. As a Canadian and watching all the "goings on" with our friends in the U.S. during their recent election I am struck how kind American's are and how beautiful their country is. Sometimes the media only captures all that's wrong in the world, how divided the U.S. presently is but, your journey is more of a depiction of all that is right. Your personal journey and challenge, the kindness of others and a reminder of the common bond we all share. Rest up because I expect to see more video's from you in the future and, maybe if I'm lucky... one day to share a beer with you. All the best, John
Hi John. I agree completely. I ignore the media. I love the USA and only ever experience kindness and generosity when I'm there. I'm glad our videos capture that. Hopefully we'll meet up at some point. Cheers.
One of the coolest things to have seen in these videos is all the awesome, generous, kind people you have met. Their are still plenty of people who will lend a helping hand. Great to see and thanks for taking us on your amazing journey!
Hi Mat 🖖 Wow, cycling alongside a moving train, fantastic! I'll bet that after cycling along relatively quiet rail trails, the wander around New York was a bit of a culture shock. Oh well, they do say that all good things must come to an end, and this series was exceptionally good! Many thanks to you Mat for filming this trip, and many thanks to Ross for giving us the pleasure of watching you do it. Cheers, and all the best for going forward 👌🙂👍
Excellent job Mat and Ross! Thank you for this awesome journey! I never get tired of seeing the best of humanity shine through in the cycling world. Nobody is a stranger when peddling a bike. I’m going to celebrate this epic achievement with a slice of pizza, an IPA and a handful of Sour Patch cannibals. 🙌🏼💪🏼👊🏼
I just found your channel about 3 days ago and now just finished watching the trip across the US. Almost 3 months for you, 3 days for me. Really cool videos. I’m 51 and just rediscovered biking after getting an ebike. This winter I’ll be pedaling in my basement in hopes of being in good enough shape next summer to try out bikepacking on a regular bike (ebike would be a TON of fun but there aren’t many trees you can plug them into). In the meantime, I think I’ll check out some more of your trips. Thanks for making these!
Thank you Mat for letting us all come for the ride, I’ve enjoyed every moment. You are so relatable and your sense of humour adds to a joyous watch. Keep the videos coming and good luck on your future adventures, I can’t wait for the next journey. Keep safe and be lucky.
Great series, thanks for your videos. I shouted you a beer via the link. Hey, all you touring cyclists, send the guy $10. It takes one minute of your time, and worth Mat's insights, humor, and motivation. ☮
Enjoyed this series. America is a fantastic place and Americans are a very generous nation! Proud of my country and those who helped and befriended you along the way! God bless the USA and God bless you, Mat!
So relieved you made it safely trans-am! Now days with cell phone distracted drivers those highways are riskier. Thanks for taking us all along and thanks to your great editor Ross!😊
It’s been a pleasure rolling along with you! I’m glad you made it accident and drama free. I’m an 80 year old cyclist in California, wishing you all the best in your future!
Congratulations Mat! 👏🏻 absolutely enjoyed this series that showed the kindness of the American people you met and supported you on this trip! Always a bright spot in my day, looking forward to your future adventures 🤍🚵🏻✌🏻
BRAVO, Matt! Well done! You sure hit NY in some gorgeous weather. Thanks so much for all the filming it took you to take us along. I'll look forward to the next one for sure.
Well you cracked it Matt and of course this is something you will always cherish 👌Soon be back in Blighty with it being dark around 5pm and very boring .Hope you have another trip lined up soon as your a natural 👌🚴♂️🥇⭐️🎥🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Mat. Amazing. Enjoyed every single minute of watching your journey. Like you, 51 is a good age to be. Moving from the UK to live here in the US is the best thing I ever did and watching this just enforces that. If you ever find yourself on Cape Cod, MA then I would be more than happy to offer you a place to stay, vacation etc... my love of Bikes, beers and coffee is enhanced by this country. THANKS for what you do Mat. Congrats on this epic adventure! Lee
I enjoyed your journey. It was wonderful to see those who helped you, from those who greeted you to those who provided food and comfort. I hope our paths cross someday so I can thank you in person for sharing this experience.
I stumbled across your TH-cam channel watching the great divide. Fabulous way of documenting your rides. This one I've loved too sad to see it end. Iam a keen cyclist too and of same age and loved to do big adventure like that but u know works prevents big trips 😂.. All best Jason.
Glad to see you were able to do the tire dip. I’ll even forgive you for spelling my name wrong. I’m also glad to see I helped break your dependency on not drinking too much. See ya next time.
🤣🤣 I could change the spelling in the description but that would make your comment weird. Thanks for a fantastic day. "There's a lot more to see all over the world". I want that on a t shirt.
Matt, what an absolutely incredible trip! A veritable tour de force. If the US Tourist Board has any sense, they will link to this video series. Thanks so much mate for transporting the very best of what the US is about, straight into our living rooms. So many fantastic sights all along the trail. But as always, the real highlights have been all the wonderful souls who have come out to help and support offering beer, companionship, route-guidance and friendship. Something about the humble bicycle that attracts the very best type of humans, and they have truly showcased the very best of America, and Americans. I don't think there is a single follower who wanted this series to reach its inevitable conclusion...totes emosh. ❤
Congratulations Mat on completing this fantastic journey, and kudos to Ross for such fantastic editing. I was full of emotions when you dipped that tyre, so I understand totally how you must have felt. Thank you for taking us along with you 🥰xx
What an epic trip. Congratulations on your completion of your ride. We as Americans are very hospitable people and you have met some of the best we have to offer.
When you dipped that wheel in the ocean I teared up. I’m so proud of you, and also a little sad for myself that it’s over. I’ve looked forward to every video. Thank you for a great ride! 11:45 And yes Mat, you are the KING.
Mat, Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I'm in Nebraska visiting family and I brought my bike along. Was debating whether to ride today. Overcast, cool, bit windy, and generally gloomy day. I had decided to wait until tomorrow and hope for better weather when my wife reminded me, "Mat Ryder rode across Nebraska in much worse conditions." So, I geared up and got it done! Best, Hal
@@matryderadventures It was a Type II Fun kind of ride, not the Type I Fun ride I shared with you and John in Xenia, OH. Alk the best and looking forward to watching your next adventure, whatever it may be. Hal
Wow. This is EPIC. I stumbled across your 'Learning to Kayak' video and was curious of your previous adventures. I'm a native New Yorker from Queens and to see the city through your lens brought back a lot of memories. Since this is the 1st video I've watched from you biking coast to coast series, I'll have to go back and start from the beginning to understand the journey - but I'm so impressed with fellow bikers that gave support along the way to get you to Coney Island! Bravo!!
Congratulations on making it to the end, what a great series. I think the struggles you faced at times during this trip made it in some ways even more captivating than the GDMBR series, and the fact that you were so clearly picked up by the generosity and companionship of people you had never met before is really heartening to see. It is nice to be reminded that most people out there are good and kind.
Wow! The GDMBR and now a ride across America - epic adventures and glad you found all the wonderful people to join you for the ride. You knocked out some big miles and suffered through some tough legs in the West, but you persevered - great job and thank you so much for sharing!
I have LOVED vicariously following your adventures on this trip! How lovely that you have met so many kind and generous Americans - HUGE respect to them ALL for lending their generous support - AWESOME, but I am already missing looking forward to the next update! You are aLEGEND! 👊💥!
Damn, bittersweet for all of us that followed you. Also like thank all those people who answered the call, and came out and met you personally and restored a little of my faith in Americans. Thanks be to all you.
Congratulations Matt on completing your epic adventure. We’ve enjoyed following you so much on your ride across the States; living life to the full. A big thank you to Ross as well for his great editing. We can’t wait to follow you on your great next adventure. Chapeau Sir. 👍🏻🚴🎉✅
Hi Mat just want to say I loved watching the whole trip you did, superb. Just wish I had the time to do something like that. Look forward to watching your next adventure 👍

Thank you Mat! Thank you Ross! It's been so nice to follow you along on this trip - and the GDMBR! The weekly videos will be missed. Looking forward to your next trip, wherever that might be.
Great trip and great videos. I did the TransAm in 2018 and am thinking of doing it again next year and following the bike non-stop this time. Thanks for posting.
Fantástico Mat. Epic trip and video…… as always 👏👏👏😀. Keep giving left handed handshakes….. to all the wonderful people you have met along the way. Look forward to hearing about your next big trip
Super congrats on finishing your epic coast-to-coast adventure Mat!! You are entertaining, motivational and highly skilled at capturing amazing video for your fans. Sorry I missed you as you rode thru Lambertville and on the D&R Canal towpath in NJ, but so glad you came thru our neck of the woods and enjoyed the ride. All the best to you lad.....CHEERS!!
So thrilled there was a Dairy Queen stop in the final video. 😎 Congratulations on your entire adventure, Matt! I hope it resonates with you for years to come. 🤙
An amazing trip to complete and so enjoyable to watch each episode. Thanks for all the great filming and editing and exploring some great places - loved those railway paths, and all the great support that you got on the way!
Oh Mat, how I'm going to miss this. I have really enjoyed being along with you on your adventure. Through all of the ups and downs, you have been an inspiration to me and many others. I have enjoyed every minute of this series (as I did your GDMBR series). I hope to be able to do a cross country ride someday, but it will have to wait until after retirement. I do have to say though, I was disappointed when you decided to bypass Kentucky. I would have loved the opportunity to have a beer with you. I look forward to seeing what you get in to next. Than you and Cheers!
I have to say, you were very fortunate with the weather you had on your trip. And with all the folks who took care of you. A very lucky man. An absolutely wonderful video series. Thank you.
enjoyed every mile. had carpal tunnel surgery on left and right hand soon to follow so thanks for giving me my bikepacking fix. hope too be back on two wheels and on two pedals in a couple months, just as the cool season here in thailand winds down, unfortunately. thanks mat and safe travels.
Dear Mat, thank you so much for your series. GDMBR and this one. I liked them so so much in the way you did them. All the best to you plus lots of greetings from Braunschweig, Germany.

Met you on the trans am back in oregon and followed along ever since! It was great to re live the bike trip in reverse! I felt the same way, I was prepared to ride alone the whole time with no problems but as time went on meeting and riding with other people turned a great experience into and unforgettable one. Congratulations mat!!! Safe travels on your journey home
Mat, I've enjoyed every one of your videos. Your videos are more than just a ribbon of roads; you open your heart and share what you see and feel. I'm going to miss the series. However, I know you'll have more adventures to share with us. Happy pedaling!
Thanks Mat (and Ross) for taking us along with your ride, I really like how you documented your journey. It was a pleasure every time a new episode was posted. I haven't seen your previous trips yet, so I'll have to check them out. It was good to see that the folks over there are still very nice people, the way I remember them. I cycled in the USA in the 1990s.
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed this series. The people are truly amazing. There's a series on the GDMBR which you may like. They were the same on that route too. Thanks for the support. It's really appreciated. Cheers
What a great ending to your trip! You certainly had so many wonderful people helping you along the way! Really amazing. I’m looking forward to your trip in New Zealand and to every video you post in between as well. Your commentary and honesty make your videos to seem like we the viewers are there with you. Thank you!
Well, what can I say but WOW!!!!! A great way to finish, and like every other video, wonderful people all along the way. Glad you took us on the journey, can't wait to see what comes next. Not sure you need to have another beer or coffee as much as Ross does. Cheers to both of you.
Sad that it’s over but I’m better for watching the entire journey. Congratulations, what a tremendous accomplishment and experience, proud of my fellow Americans for showing great hospitality!!!
I’ve long thought a bike tour cross the US would be to much traffic / paved riding and something I wouldn’t enjoy. This video series has made me realize I was wrong. Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos. Great work. Keep riding safe!
Thank you for planning this trip. Thank you for taking this trip. Thank you for filming so much of it for us! I was sad when you decided to skip Kansas. I was hoping to get a chance to come and meet you, but I believe you made the right decision. I will continue to follow your next adventures, because you tell the story in only a way you can!
Sad to see it end Matt. I have thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. I hope I can meet as many kind people when I do my transamerica (basically your route but east to west) next year. Looking forward to a post ride Q and A where I will bombard you with questions! 😁
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I forgot that we did a Q&A last time. Maybe we'll do another. In the meantime send any questions to matryder2@gmail.com I'll be happy to help.

I felt the same way, I was prepared to ride alone the whole time with no problems but as time went on meeting and riding with other people turned a great experience into and unforgettable one. Congratulations mat!!! Safe travels on your journey home
Hi Max. I remember you. Congratulations on finishing the TransAm. Do you have any other trips lined up?
Hey Steve. Ross definitely deserves it more than me. New Zealand next. I've booked the flight.
@@matryderadventures Wow, that's great news. I am assuming you are taking your pinion bike?
Definitely.
Sad that it’s over but I’m better for watching the entire journey. Congratulations, what a tremendous accomplishment and experience, proud of my fellow Americans for showing great hospitality!!!
Well done, Mat!
Thank you so much Matt.
For everything.
I’ve long thought a bike tour cross the US would be to much traffic / paved riding and something I wouldn’t enjoy. This video series has made me realize I was wrong.
Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos. Great work. Keep riding safe!
A wonderful series of your adventures! Thank you for sharing this with us. I looked forward to every video you put out.
15:27 The mass green growth on the trees looks like Kudzu, a huge problem in the southern states. In Alabama I saw whole forests covered in it.
Well done Mat. Really enjoyed it all, emotional
Well done mat..
