  • Today I'm installing my new Minn Kota on board battery charger.
    This thing is amazing and makes the fishing experience so much more enjoyable.
    This particular charger is going to charge all 3 batteries at once so basically once I hook it up all I have to do is plug it in and wait until the batteries charge up.
    This particular model is the MK-330D
    This install will take roughly 20 minutes. If you ever have a question on the install, be sure to put it in the comment section.
    Hope you guys enjoy the video and we'll see you soon!
    Tight lines & God Bless!

    Thanks for the video, Lance. Quick question, I have an older boat with one battery by steering console and one back by the transom. Is it better to split the difference and mount my charger in the middle or pick one location close and run a longer connection to the opposite battery?
    Thanks.

      Anytime bud! On that just pick a location and extend the charging wire. I do know some manufacturers make extension cables for their chargers. The one on my bass boat has that option. This is the charger I have on my ranger. www.dualpro.com it’s a good brand.

    Hey Lance, I have a question on my G3 bass boat. When I hooked it up battery two is blinking a orange is yellowish color but it’s on the charging and number one battery is not blinking.

      Get a volt meter and check each battery before you plug the charger in. Then plug in the charger and test it again. Either you’ve got a dead battery or the charger isn’t putting out on that particular port. I’ve actually had a bad charger one time and have bought a brand new bad battery before.

    I’ve got the same charger. Do they lights always just blink or will they stay solid when full charged or what. I just got it and didn’t get a box or a Manuel so I’m just trying to figure it out and there no videos on how to read the display or operate this thing man. Prolly dumb questions I know but I’d sure appreciate a brief run down

      Nice! It’s a good one!
      They’ll blink green then after a day or so it goes in to a “standby” mode where it will give the batteries a little trickle when it’s needed.
      The lights will be solid green when it’s in this mode if your batteries are all good.
      Just a quick rundown solid yellow is charging, twinkling green is charged, solid green is the stand by/trickle charge when needed and I believe red is bad battery or check battery.
      I’ve never had a bad battery yet but I’m 90% sure I’m right on that one.

    I just used self tapping screws put the charger in place where you want it and just screw it down

      Those will work too. I like using sheet metal with a pilot hole.

    Hey what size screws are you using to secure the charger?

    • @lanceduff
      @lanceduff  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m using 1/8th stainless sheet metal screws. Totally forgot to mention that at the start of the video. My apologies.

      I’ve ran it from sun up to sun down and never went without power. Even at the end of the day it still felt full

    Will 2 30amp fuses add up to be 60amps? Not sure if it work's that way

    • @lanceduff
      @lanceduff  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No sir that won’t work. It would have to be a 60 amp fuse.

      @corysturgis6660 haha yes sir. They do have some 60 amp fuses. You can find them on Amazon along with fuse holders
