  • In this video the importance of rigid joints is highlighted in detail. This video describes how to define and draw the linear links between unconnected joints. To make it more understandable, a comparison in analysis and design results is discussed.

    It really was very informative thanks a lot although I have a doubt that if the difference between column and beam center line is 4-6 inches can we still analyze by considering the center line to be same without actually applying rigid links?

      Yes, within 6", it is ok to model beam and column on same center line.

    Thank you sir for the informative video. here are two requests which are still not solved on youtube, are designing of stairs and basement wall using etabs results. Hope for a better response on such an informative platform.

    What if the beam is continuous and it doesn’t pass through the column joint like the example shown in the beginning, should we assign a link too?

    Hi sir for the beam connecting to the edge of column we have to use rigid link???

    I want you to make a video on how can we partially release moments in etabs

    • @structguru2200
      @structguru2200  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure! I will upload it soon. It is easy, you just go to assign tab and in frame section select release/partially release. In detail, I will explain its importance and procedure in detail in my next video. Thanks!

      I mean if i want to release only 30% of the moments acting at the ends of the beam

    Hi, una opción para reemplazar el uso de link es el offset verdad? Haré un ejercicio igual. Gracias.

    Is it safe, if my beam is on the edge, but I am assigning or modelling it at the centre of column??? Thanks for the video
