What is the difference between using link-type elements or using offset with the function insertion point for modeling beams and columns that don't have the same axes?

thx bro, but link can not make a lateral support for the column in case we have a multi story building, when you check the column result after the design in etabs you find it with double height story and that cause buckling failure mostly, i searched a lot for a solution, if u have an answer i will thankful for u.
