A very good explanation how to use links for excentric beams, but I have a question sir, what about the excentric shear wall column connection?

Sir, I would like to clarify a question.
What is the difference between using link-type elements or using offset with the function insertion point for modeling beams and columns that don't have the same axes?

      Dear Daniele,
      sorry for the late reply..
ETABS is taking the centroid (center of the area) of the shapes as the connection point. if you are aware of eccentricity, the link will serve as the distance from the center. If you just offset the point it might not be considered as a connected joint (even though the 3D view seems to be over each other).
hope that will answer your question.

@@shahab441 Sir please make a one more video clip which clearify the "Daniele Benvegnu" 's question .as i have the sam equestion like her and unfortunately didnt understand fully your reply to her.

Same qstn... Does the link create the additional eccentricity moment

After providing links please export it to RCDC and check if it works while detailing...... cos this didn't work while i did it......

Sir, what happen if in 13:48 we make the same rigid link arrangement as in 13:27? Can we model the same arrangement?

      Dear @Filbert Njoko
you could do it. however, you should have an understanding of the real-life structural members' behavior to be able to simulate more accurately,

هل استطيع ان ادمج عمودين في طابقين متتالين كعمود واحد .
اي ان الطول للعمود يصبح ارتفاع االطابقين.

if not mistaken this is what you have asked:
Can I combine two columns on two consecutive floors with one column? That is, the length of the column becomes the height of the two floors.
the answer to that would be Yes/and No. one should understand the Slenderness Ratio (k) which decides the curvature/behavior of the column, to answer the question.
In practice, if you don't cast the whole column as one, the connection of the beam will create a bracing and changes the behavior of the column (that is why there will be two columns rather than one).
It is advisable to draw as one column if there will be no beams intersecting the column.
