You think you're going there for the music; you think you're going there for the Maids; you think you're going there for the joy and excitement. But once you get to a Band-Maid concert, you realize... it's all about the love. 🎀💝🎀 Thx, John!

Miku’s Magic Pell Time, you MUST participate or feel th3 wrath of the pigeon. I saw them in Chicago last year. I have been going to concerts since 1985. I have never had more fun at a show. They are in the top tier with 4 other bands I have seen live over the last almost 40 years. Each are for differing reasons but Band Maid was just pure fun.

    I enjoyed your concert report.
And I'm always looking forward to your BAND-MAID reaction.
I'm Japanese and live in Japan, but I've been listening to their music for 5 years, but they haven't come to my town yet, and I haven't met them live.
Seeing them live, the best hard rock band in the world, is the only dream left in my life. I live for that dream.
    Thanks for the great video.
I dream of the day when I can meet you somewhere in the world.
I'm looking forward to BAND-MAID's reaction from now on.

I've seen a few Vlogs from that concert.
First i saw was from Michelle who doesn't do reactions, but does covers.
As a guitarist she is a big fan of Mincho and has brought a gift to her twice.
Very sweet girl, so recommend checking it out. Yes.. she is the one spesking japanese during the gig.

Sorry I missed you at the show. I was there starting at 6:30am to be on the rail for the show. I was right in front of MISA for this show. This was a great show and happy to see that you really enjoyed the show. Band-Maid does more than just sing songs for their shows as you witnessed. This is why they call it an okyuji (serving). It truly is a magical moment in time spent with amazing music and musicians and one of the best fan bases in all of rock (imo).
I saw them Friday night in my hometown of Atlanta as well and was on the rail, again, in front of Miku and MISA. I was able to get a guitar pick from Miku at that show as well.
Crowd interaction and participation is major, integral part of a Band-Maid show. They feed off of the crowd energy and the more we give them the more they give it back to us during the show.

  • @ichichu
    @ichichu ปีที่แล้ว +9

I need to go to about 1000 more Band-Maid concerts. You need to come to Japan to watch them. IMHO, the energy here is about 100x higher. After I saw them in Kumamoto to begin their 10th Anniversary tour, I couldn't sleep for a week I was so pumped up.

I had a great time when I saw them in Austin, Tx., they are just a great band and great ladies that deserve everything that they get because they work hard and earn it. I am still happy that I discovered them about four years ago, hopefully I can go see them again in August. Band-Maid forever!!!

great video man and thanks for taking the time, I'm in the music business and as a studio musician having worked in Tokyo, I am so proud of having you guys support these girls, it almost makes me tear up. I have seen them first in 2015 in Japan and at that time was wondering how that concept of theirs would work over seas, and here we go, they are doing exactly what I could not achieve, bur their success allowed me to re-live my early days as a musician hoping to making it instead of being stuck in a studio helping other people sounding great.

I have seen a few Japanese bands live, and there is a kind of magic that they bring with them. And I put that down to friendship, all the members are friends who like doing what they do, which allows them to play around with each other on stage. And it comes over to the crowd that they are enjoying themselves, it also leads to special moments that you'll never see them do again. I saw Band Maid in London when during Miku's Omajinai time, Saki wanted to mess with Miku's head so sat at the drum kit, and it ended up with them all playing the drums. Mind you it always happens during Omajinai time, they seem to like messing with Miku's head, which is why Miku is always checking to see what they are up to. It's cute and fun, and the crowds love it.
Babymetal are always pulling faces, sticking their tongues out or poking each other.
And Japanese bands always make you feel as if they really want to be there, and are so happy you are there as well, that they make you part of the family. I have also seen a lot of western bands that can make you feel as if they are just going though the motions, that they don't really want to be there, it's just another show.
I have seen Band Maid live 3 times now, and every show is different in some way, even if it's the same set list.

Saiki was the most impressive to me at the show. Sounded fantastic live. She hit every note and was strong through the end of what...20+ songs? For the first time in my life, I waited after the show to get everyone's autograph for like 1.5 hours only to find out they didn't want anyone to see them not in costume so no autographs. That's the only bummer in the whole night. Plan on seeing them again somewhere when they come back.

    • @Short_Round1999

I think it is more about the COVID, they try to avoid situations that lead some of them get sick and have to cancel the tour. In the past they did "meet and greets" and take pictures with fans. But in the stage they speak to the fans and beave carefree while take a rest.

Was at the show with my kid but I tend to find a spot first and just hang there (Dad pays for the trip/tickets, she buys the beers lol). We were about 30th or so in the GA line, went in and walked up to the rail on the right (Kanami) side of the stage. Had part of it cut off (when Kanami was back by her board/mic we couldn't see her) and only got most of Akane's kit. It was my fifth Band-Maid show (did DC, Philly, NYC and Boston in the fall, and followed up with #6 in my hometown of Detroit on Wednesday). Being that close to the action was surreal. As I told a friend who I brought to the Detroit show whose musical tastes are similar to mine, you WILL have fun at a Band-Maid show! Glad you enjoyed it John (and have a few more great songs you've heard from them that don't have official vids, like One and Only, Screaming and Hate?), they crushed it as usual. Now to decide which August show to attend...

I watched your concert travel blog and as usual, you provided some great content for those of us that were not there, shared a fact about Nashville I did not know which is the parking sucks and then took us to eat Ramen with you (which is one of my favorite foods)! DUDE, it was the car ride home where you had me in happy tears as you explained how Music might not be in your life the way you had envisioned but the way that you have kept music in your life and how it fits in now is right where you feel like it should ❤❤❤ You are a beacon of wisdom and positivity and if you were not doing what you are now with music, I would have never seen your channel which has filled my life with joy because you sir are making a difference in this world🙏👍 At the end of the day, if we can make just one persons day better, even if it is our own sometimes…it was a great day! Sorry I didn't see you at Nashville. Yes, this Okyu-ji was a sellout. Like you said, you can watch every live video and it still doesn't do justice to how it actually is, at a Band-Maid concert. I learned one thing from this show, Band-Maid sucks at bowling! Oh, and a new word. "Trap-ped".

@@JohnReavesLive I love it that you just even mentioned how much you love ramen. Don't know why, I just do.
I really admire and appreciate the msg you are sending AND the love that you're spreading. I've been on a similar journey and I guess I wanna say, thank you. You got a great soul and I think your subs feel it too. I know I do. Keep on rockin'. 🤘🏼😎

I'm also obsessed with ramen, hah. I love making my own, although it's mostly the shoyu type.

I was near front row for the Charlotte show. I had no idea I was almost the only person fist pumping, clapping and jumping up and down the entire time. (Until I watch videos from the back rows)
I still don’t get how anyone can just stand there 🤷🏻

Miku: "Omajinai time is the most important time in Okyu-ji."
    John: "I have no clue."
You found out, didn't you? Because you were tra-peed.

    Band Maid
I attended a few years ago already in love with the band. But I am not a fan of their last few releases.

What a great set list! The only thing that bothers me is to hear Domination the first song.... I see myself ordering drinks for all my homies and there it go, one of the best choruses known by humaniti and some specific type of aliens and I need to go back to where my friends are pack of a bunch of margaritas just because a f"ck!ng youtuber told me that they are delicious 🤬😡..... thanks god I didn't go to that concert because i'm already pissing me off!!! 😉 Po!
