Then just my luck...At 11:00AM on the 16th, I went to go order it andddd...It's the only one out of the entire 9000 series line that's been out of since and STILL is out of stock 4 days later. Quickly approaching the two week mark of no change in my pre-order status, which has left me unable to do work on my main PC that is the only system I can do it on.
For me, the stutter issues which looked like CPU down clocking were only solved when I installed the latest BIOS from MSI fro my X670E Gaminf board. Bios version 17 (Beta). This BIOS update also fixed random issues with the Bluetooth \ WiFi on board. The stutter would happen randomly when waking up the computer from sleep and although very rarely it would simply go away after a while, the fastest resolution would be to reboot.
Mike, another question. I already have some chipset drivers installed. B450. Should I download the latest and just press install ?? OR Should I uninstall the previous version via add or remove programs and then install the latest ones??
I'm back in the AMD camp, been a while...last was an Athlon, and I just built a 7800x3d PC. I'm not using a Radeon GPU, using a Nvidia. Do I still have to install the Adrenalin drivers/software or is just the chipset drivers OK?
I have a ryzen 9 7950x. First thing i do is use the Ryzen master to under volt the CPU to 1.05 volts. I loose about 5% performance but the temperature is 20 degree celsius lower , uses 100 watts lower power. It is so amazing. At idle the cpu uses only 40 watts now and temperature is below 48 degrees Celsius.
People were having stuttering issues with the past driver? I didn't notice anything really, or also with Adrenaline 24.7.1, but I guess everyone's config is different
Hi Mike, I'm getting this monitor out of range problem. When I used the rx 590, I didn't get this problem but am getting it with the rx 7600. Other hardware remained the same. Is there a fix?
I'll try the drivers again. I have a ryzen 5 1500 (no x) and ever since I installed a gtx 1650 (Gigabyte) I have had latency issues randomly. It used to be moving the browsers would lag as well, but after doing drivers the last time it has been mainly lagging typing, and browsers struggle to load twitch and especially youtube. When watching a live stream the chatbox darn near freezes for a minute or two before loading and that's when the chats are slow too.
My mobo is latest Gen 5 B650M Pro RS/ Ryzen 9 7900X, so I will let Asrock update the drivers if needed! Last Chipset update was March 26, 2024. I have zero stuttering issues!
I mostly play pes and xdefiant, it was stuttering and lagging. I uninstalled amd adrenalin software and the problem was solved. My gpu is rx6600 pair with 10400f cpu.👍
If you have stutter, in games like dead space, alone In the dark, and many unreal engine 4 games, try turning Gsync off. What happens is you get a long frame time when moving around to a new area, the framerate momentarily dips and Gsync reacts to that by changing your refresh rate lower and then it jumps back up in an instant and the effect of this is jarring. Without gsync you just get a long frame time which is hard to notice in comparison. I don't think people try this because it's not in the game settings and turning vsync on or off is not the same thing as Gsync
I tried many times on updating AMD Drivers before, but when using DDU on Window's Safe Mode is also good as it replaces the existing software version. Now I wonder if I will try the Pro Version and if it helps to improve more of the graphic performance yet without the graphics card.
If I'm using an nvidia gpu, I will still use geforce experience and not adrenalin? I plan on swapping platforms to am4 from intel. Currently on 10th gen intel
Here's a question for you that no one has been able to solve so far: My PC often fails to load AMD drivers if the monitor is powered on (connected via DP or HDMI cable). If I boot (or wake from sleep) after cycling the monitor ON then OFF, it all loads fine. Cables have been checked and replaced with certified ones. Is the monitor causing the issue somehow?
in the main part yes, but don't belittle people like that, the majority of users struggle with even basic web browsing so this stuff is like rocket science to them. Just because it might be something you are comfortable with, that doesn't mean that others are so confident or even understand what it does or why they need it.
AMD drivers are causing system crash while gaming everytime and system is hard to turn on after each crash. Tried DDU, latest drivers, latest windows version, disabled all auto updates, tried everything on TH-cam and my own methods as well but nothing works. I'm unable to play any game. Please tell me a fix.

A good vid to show what to do. However you could have pointed out particularly with the chipset drivers, 'if it's not broke, don't fix.' For the graphics drivers the Pro version may not support brand new games that require the latest game driver as the version numbers can give problems. The pro driver is supposed to be more stable for workstation type tasks and is not made with gaming optimisation in mind. However if you are having problems with a random crashes the most common problem may be sorted with changing the speed of the memory and or changing to the latest BIOS update for your motherboard. Not something to take lightly and beyond the scope of this vid. I'm not sure if you have covered this Mike.
Another reason could be that people have not updated their bios for their motherboard. Some motherboards might actually need to be updated manually through a USB.
Thanks for that! I just made my new build with a MAG 550 msi, Ryzen 7 5700x and i got a samsung M2 980 500gb compatible with that mboard BUT it doesnt read the M2.... i've tried everything i've found in the internet, i also updated my bios, but nothing.... any ideas? I read somewhere that msi mentions that there might be a compatibility problem according to what cpu we have, which seems weird...

Does this fix it for 3000 series? I upgraded to 7000 series back in march of this year because I was tired of that crap. I've been dealing with this for at least a year or 2.
@@mikesunboxing read and guide on amd saying I should uninstall it then install the new chipset drivers for no weird stuff that could happen. Don't you think I did the right thing?
I have 7800X3D these steps alone wont help all lag and stuttering you need to change settings in Adrenaline, disable mpo in regedit and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters this in regedit can confirm i have zero lag and stuttering, have a 7900xt too.

I made a ticket with AMD. I sent them my MS Config file. They found errors from third party apps. Asus armourmy crate was causing errors. I installed the newest bios. Ran windows troubleshooter. Removed AMD drivers with DDU. Reinstalled AMD drivers. Ran my game,no problems. I sent AMD another MS Config file after the updates. They didn’t find any errors. They also told me not to use Revo Uninstaller. I would use Revo to uninstall amd and other apps.
I finally got to the root of the problem. My seasonic gold 1000w psu was bad. I found this out by checking the win event viewer.I dont see any reason why you cant use revo. Its really a personal choice. I dont believe everything AMD says. It seems like all the big companies want to point the finger.
Hmm.. I’ll watch. In Fortnite on pc only there’s micro stutters in game and been for awhile. I actually just did this, this a.m before hand I did AMD cleanup utility “but” .. like you mentioned I unchecked some of the drivers I already had but maybe should have chose them even though I had them.
Release Date 2024-07-26 - nothing new it seems, thats the latest chipset driver for me. I download it anyway and the versions all displayed NEWER than the ones in your video. hmm

I think the average person can install a driver. What prompted you to create an 8-minute video? I have not had a driver installation issue in 25 years; this is not the Windows XP era. I find it unpleasant and unprofessional when youtubers speak so quickly in their videos; the rocket doesn't need to go.
In most cases the average user can’t do even the most basic of tasks, my years of making these videos and the feedback shows this. There are about 5% of users that are able to do simple updates and bios flashing and system maintenance, only about 1% of users are what we would call advanced users the type that are able to diagnose and repair a pc. I was actually shocked at how low skilled the majority of pc users are when it comes to anything other than basic web browsing
Weirdest thing happened with my system. I am using my old 5600x that was paired with the RX 6800. I upgraded to the 7900GRE and it sat tight in my matx 570 mobo but all was working great. The clearance issues for my display port cable set me to getting a 570 ATX (same make as matx was) and after swapping the boards, this error came up. That makes no sense as it was the same 5600x and 7900GRE that were in the 570 matx. I wiped and reinstalled following this path and the error went away. It is just odd the only change was the mobo that was flashed.
So you talk about stuttering issues, and point out that you've already updated windows and drivers 0:22 Yet your "fix" is to download and install drivers? HUH? Am I missing something here? this video is pointless.
@@mikesunboxing I was expecting something more than the obvious. Chipset drivers also install LAN and audio drivers too. I was expecting something along the lines of a microcode update which is usually done from a bios flash update which often triggers an AGESA update.

If you have the onboard igpu enabled you can install the adrenalin package if you like but it isn’t really necessary
Try another hdmi or dp cable
So is it the same steps if i only have amd cpu? (Nvidia gpu) I have been using the armory crate until now. Beforehand thanks!
yes you need chipset drivers for an AMD CPU and motherboard, very important
I'm with Intel and I have no problems :) The instability issue have been solved too :)
I have found with windows do a fresh install once a year, or with a new build fresh install. Has yet to fail me!
Start using Linux. Windows just keeps getting worse
@@claw22000Linux is not really user friendly, it's even worse than Windows when it comes to user interface, at least in my opinion
You shouldn't have to do that
I'll try the drivers again. When watching a live stream the chatbox darn near freezes for a minute or two before loading and that's when the chats are slow too.
good luck with it
Should we use a uninstaller first so we dont corrupt anything?
no need really it should look after it self
My mobo is latest Gen 5 B650M Pro RS/ Ryzen 9 7900X, so I will let Asrock update the drivers if needed! Last Chipset update was March 26, 2024. I have zero stuttering issues!
I mostly play pes and xdefiant, it was stuttering and lagging. I uninstalled amd adrenalin software and the problem was solved. My gpu is rx6600 pair with 10400f cpu.👍
Thanks for the info
If you have stutter, in games like dead space, alone In the dark, and many unreal engine 4 games, try turning Gsync off. What happens is you get a long frame time when moving around to a new area, the framerate momentarily dips and Gsync reacts to that by changing your refresh rate lower and then it jumps back up in an instant and the effect of this is jarring. Without gsync you just get a long frame time which is hard to notice in comparison. I don't think people try this because it's not in the game settings and turning vsync on or off is not the same thing as Gsync
thanks for the tip
I tried many times on updating AMD Drivers before, but when using DDU on Window's Safe Mode is also good as it replaces the existing software version. Now I wonder if I will try the Pro Version and if it helps to improve more of the graphic performance yet without the graphics card.
Is there any particular bios youd recommend for 7800x3d on Asus Tuff b650?
The newest one
If I'm using an nvidia gpu, I will still use geforce experience and not adrenalin? I plan on swapping platforms to am4 from intel. Currently on 10th gen intel
yes that is right
@@mikesunboxing adrenalin is only if I have an amd gpu?
Here's a question for you that no one has been able to solve so far: My PC often fails to load AMD drivers if the monitor is powered on (connected via DP or HDMI cable). If I boot (or wake from sleep) after cycling the monitor ON then OFF, it all loads fine. Cables have been checked and replaced with certified ones. Is the monitor causing the issue somehow?
yeah sounds like a uefi signalling issue to me
Thanks for the video information
My pleasure
the moment when old drivers had better performance than new one ....
yeah with all the security patches it is the only way forward at the moment
NO NEED FEAR,,,hacker must be near your pc (phisicaly) and can reach your kernal... so no need fear for normal users
I'm confused. Is this just a video on installing chipset drivers?
in the main part yes, but don't belittle people like that, the majority of users struggle with even basic web browsing so this stuff is like rocket science to them.

I'm not sure if you have covered this Mike.
thanks for the feedback
Another reason could be that people have not updated their bios for their motherboard. Some motherboards might actually need to be updated manually through a USB.
yes that is also a good option for some people if they have an outdated bios
Hi sir I just want to ask if I use DDU to update the GPU do I have to reisntall also the chipsets or not?
no that should not be necessary
Thanks for that! I just made my new build with a MAG 550 msi, Ryzen 7 5700x and i got a samsung M2 980 500gb compatible with that mboard BUT it doesnt read the M2.... i've tried everything i've found in the internet, i also updated my bios, but nothing.... any ideas? I read somewhere that msi mentions that there might be a compatibility problem according to what cpu we have, which seems weird...

Quite possible it will
I’m just glad I use Linux, and the drivers are baked into the kernel I use.
Don' forget to close Steam before upgrading driver on your PC! Otherwise, you may lose the settings pointing to game locations.
Thaaanks.
Does this fix it for 3000 series? I upgraded to 7000 series back in march of this year because I was tired of that crap. I've been dealing with this for at least a year or 2.
Worth trying it
I don't have any stuttering latest chipset and Adrenalin drivers AMD 7700X and 7800Xt. Should I change anything or don't fix what's nit broke?

I have 7800X3D these steps alone wont help all lag and stuttering you need to change settings in Adrenaline, disable mpo in regedit and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters this in regedit can confirm i have zero lag and stuttering, have a 7900xt too.
8:30 to install adreneline.......... literally the first thing i do with every build
I do not have this but I do get video just going dead and not sending a signal then after a reboot the PC refuses to recognize the GPU at all

Yes. But keeping your drivers updated or cleanly reinstalled is a good idea most of the times.

Can I still use revo to uninstall games and junk files??
I finally got to the root of the problem. My seasonic gold 1000w psu was bad. I found this out by checking the win event viewer.I dont see any reason why you cant use revo. Its really a personal choice. I dont believe everything AMD says. It seems like all the big companies want to point the finger.

It is just odd the only change was the mobo that was flashed.
weird stuff happens, especially on the AMD platforms which are more driver dependant

So you talk about stuttering issues, and point out that you've already updated windows and drivers 0:22 Yet your "fix" is to download and install drivers? HUH? Am I missing something here? this video is pointless.
Yes the windows updates and drivers for all other components like audio and lan, not the chipset and gpu
@@mikesunboxing I was expecting something more than the obvious. Chipset drivers also install LAN and audio drivers too. I was expecting something along the lines of a microcode update which is usually done from a bios flash update which often triggers an AGESA update.
