Slapped it on 780m 8845hs a few days ago. Doubled my fps in most games. Coupled with RSR or FSR 2.1. incredible how well these technologies work now.
Frame rates are still the same mate. Fake frames do not help anything or anyone. Run native for the best results.
Just built a all RED build, rocking a 7800XT MERC with a 7800X3D, this is really gonna boost my games! Got a 4k monitor and really struggling too hit that 240hz/240FPS mark, I usually run most games like War Thunder or Squad 44 at 100-180FPS, I may actually get too hit 240FPS or even be able to play Star Citizen again!
120hz oled looks smoother than 240+hz LCD while being easier to drive. Would love a 240hz 4k oled though they won't probably show up until NVidia has cards that support DP2.1

@@ajess01111 and the odyssey OLED 4k version of the G8 doesn't support 4k240 native period. It does it with compression thru dp1.4 or hdmi2.1, making it irrelevant, let's add input lag on both sides of the connection to just say it's 4k240. They can gtfo with that crap.

@@jonnycollisonno it won’t, quite opposite. This is a clusterfuck. Pc gaming is trash, look at all crap you have to go through, how many acronyms are we at now? All for “smoothing” so we’ve gone from gsync freesync, to, VRR, to frame generation, Antilag. This is what a great card use to be for. Imagine pay 800-1000 for just the gpu and still be running and tweaking all this crap…. On top of that now we’re downgrading software to get a better feature….. where the hell is the “better story” driver. The non crash software…..
@@djnes2k7 pc gaming is not trash, you don't have to pay 1000 usd for a graphics card unless you're getting a 4080, 4090 or a high end amd gpu and also there is a lot of things you can do with a computer rather than just gaming like productivity which you can't do as well with a console or a phone, also this feature is only for people who have a underperforming gpu or want more fps at the cost of input latency, you can perfectly just install your gpu into your system, install the drivers and play without going through all the hassle shown in this video
Just built a backup PC and wanted to try the new Adrenalin features so I bought a RX 7600 XT since all my other AMD GPUs were RX 6000 series.
I need to do more tests but the 7600 with these new features is giving my ASUS Tuf Gaming RX 6700 XT some serious competition.
The video should have made mention of ways to properly clean uninstall and install Radeon drivers. Use DDU software to uninstall previous Nvidia and Radeon drivers before installing new Radeon drivers.
this is nonsense. i have been installing radeon drivers on top of each other for nearly a year now with 0 issues, inside the radeon app. only time it matters is when windows does something dumb and installs old drivers on its own.
Ironically enough, ddu breaks my system more than adrenalin updating
@@lclnbm How so?
well he has been doing alot of videos and most of them include DDU, he prolly thought everyone would've known by now
if you have a 60Hz/60 fps monitor/tv DO NOT use this, its absolutely awful. it turns off v-sync which causes screen tearing and horrible lag on top of that. you must already have a very high framerate and a monitor/tv that can do that to benefit from this and the negatives also include high input lag, so why do this at all. nothing beats native (raw) gaming, upscaling is just lowering your resolution, i can do that myself. buncha silly shit to be honest about it. i'm gaming not fkn around with lies and fairy tales. keep it 💯 ✌
exactly. upscaling is an utter joke, and the high input lag sucks too. i'd rather play nice and crisp at 60hz/60fps than to lose the graphics quality by basically running it at 720p then upscaling it back to 1080p, just to have 200fps, when it's not an absolute game changer. the difference between 60fps and 200fps is marginal, it's not as if 60fps come across as a flickering slideshow. movies at 24fps are even watchable. you pretty much need to be a superhuman to require 240hz/240fps.
you don't need more than 60fps on a 60hz display dipass.
@@MiniDevilDF60fps sucks. Speak for yourself.
@@MiniDevilDF tell me you never played on a 144hz monitor without telling me. BUT for the upscaling im with you, if you buy a new gpu and already need to upscale just to hit your target framerate, you absolutly 100% on the wrong resolution.
Yeah... it sucks actually, Lossless Scaling does a far better job for now, it actually feels smoother. I'd wait until it gets better.

do you know what "beta" mean ?
@@qwerty-dm8gr you have brain issue
I tested the AFMF2 feature with an inexpensive RX 6500 XT - I like Radeon graphics cards, but this feature has in 1080P the same effect in my eyes as disabling vertical synchronization. You have more frames per second, but the graphics card is put under much more stress, the fans rev up massively and the temperatures rise considerably. Maybe you can counteract this effect with Radeon Chill, for example - I haven't tested that now. Nice video and greetings from Germany.
This transformed my RX 580 8GB into a RX 7800 XT 8GB

Hi thanks for the video great work as usual! i have a question... have you tested the latency in case of frame cap (to stay in the range of refresh monitor) plus anti-lag plus AFMF2?
Does anyone having stutters and fps drops in amd gpu s anymore with latest drivers ?
Using frame generation in Cyberpunk 2077 disables VSync which makes it look awful. I am using a Power colour Red Devil 6700xt.

they won't
@@qwerty-dm8grthey can. And sometimes they do it even better. RSR? AMD only support the feature down to RDNA 1 despite any DX11 gpu should be able to do it. Nvidia competitor to RSR (NIS) supported down to maxwell based card. But in nvidia case they did not need to make something like AFMF when third party solution already available like Loseless scaling.
Nvidia will sell next gen ray tracing that cant run on their own old GPUs
They don't/won't give two shits about their userbase LOL. They threw GTX users under the bus with DLSS and then the RTX 20/30 series users as well with DLSS frame gen. I guess the Nvidia mindshare is strong enough that the fanbois don't mind getting shafted by Nvidia. 🤷

Because it’s not in-engine. AMDFMF is driver level - frames are being doubled outside of the game engine.

no
Fake frames. Who is using this?
You can go past the game engine limit for certains games, like the crew for example or elden ring, with afmf you can play at 120fps when the game maximum limit is actually 60 and this is huge.
It helps if you care about power consumption too
If u want to be closer to your monitor's refresh rate too maybe
@@saiibox3174 yeah it can go beyond the game engine because the frames aren't legit frames. Its fake and will throw off your aim and tracing and enemy detection, plus adds latency. They aren't real. You'd perform better with 60 real frames.
If you want more frames the only good option is upscaling.
Thinking of building Ryzen 5 7600x and RX7700XT for 1080p ultra, bevause my monitor is a 1080p 165Hz monitor. Only thing that worries me is the excess fps beyond 165 thats going waste and i will not be avlble to push the card ti its full potential until i get a 1440p monitor in future🥲
No need to worry, just lock the FPS at 165. Less noice and power consumption is a good thing, and there isnt much difference between 165 and like 200.
