Dustin is building the evo 8 from Tokyo drift and tj is building the mustang fastback with an rb26 I’ve never been so excited
I’m confused a little bit how is he building the eco if he already bought it how it is? Tj don’t have the exact fastback either but is doing a similar style which is great. I’m just a little confused with your comment.

I remember obsessing over this car as a kid. I remember having this car as my computer screensaver in the 7th grade, and begging my Mom to buy me the die cast when I stumbled across it at Toys R Us. Everything you said was right on the mark for all of us who grew up with this franchise. This was the movie and the car that created my obsession with anything and everything JDM. My hearts racing with excitement, I really hope to get to see it in person at some point in the future. 🙏🏼
I'm a little older than you, so my love of JDM came from the Gran Turismo games. By the time F&F came out, I was already driving. I've gone from a 93 Probe GT (it was built by Mazda) to an 03 Eclipse to an 07 STI to a 15 STI currently (got it new). It's cool that different inspirations can lead different people to essentially the same place. Now my son has the car bug, specifically, JDM.

I think you may end up breaking down the entire engine just to check the valves, cams, etc. etc. etc., just to have that peace of mind, especially if you're going to track the car. The hard work will definitely pay off. Low mileage is such a bonus too! Can't wait to see the work you do to it!

Craig Liberman was one of the technical advisers on the first 3 Fast and Furious films he actually has a TH-cam channel where talks about all the cars from those movies so maybe hit him up and see if you can maybe find out more about the car.
He wasn’t the technical advisor for Tokyo and this isn’t a screen used car

@@riseupstudios12 he supplied background cars for the opening parking lot sequence. So roughly 4 days to a weeks work. Other than that he wasn’t involved

I just don’t want to see this car tracked. The S2000 was supposed to be a daily but tracked some, its track only now. The 32, S2000, and Mclaren will all be track cars, this one shouldn’t be, plus you said it’s your hero car.

This ain't a car from Tokyo Drift it's the main car in which the Tokyo Drift car was based on. It was actually featured in a UK magazine called Max Power at the time it was built so it ain't a movie car
