    Excellent review and, as has been mentioned, loving the soundtrack !!! One thing looks off to me, the positioning of the tool box. Surely that is going to get whacked by everything being so low and sticking out like that, if it were to catch a rock or tree stump it could easily knock you off course ?

    • @thetubelesschannel
      @thetubelesschannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is a bit "challenged" it the position so I will probably leave it home if I am going to do rough offroad.

    how is the engine vibration? I love my CB500X but at USA highway speeds 75 to 85 MPH (120 to 137 KPH) the handlebars vibrate a lot from engine. possibly too much for the 18 hour ride across that plans to get to the Rocky Mountains.

      Jim White : for 3.5 years, i have loved my CB500X, but riding it over 100 km/h was not pleasant; i would have need a CB650X. I finally bought a Tiger 900 GT (not the pro). After first 2000 km, i am very happy & in love. The Tenere 700 is awesome, but it is to much tall for me & to much off-road oriented. I ride 75% on asphalt & 25% on gravel/dirt roads. The V-Strom 650 XT would have been a very interesting & more cheap option for me.

    You are 100 % correct. Prices of Tenere are creeping up 1.5 K /Year..... Different decals won't make bike's off road performance better - but it is the only way for Yamaha to get rid of stockpile of aftermarket parts.
    In the mean time , in real Dakar rally ( for many years now ) Yamaha can't get even in top five.
    Four years, four years ( going on 5) and they didn't sort out suspension ( even on so called rally model ) ????? What are they thinking ???.....HALOOOO YAMAHA !!!
    Are they thinking at all ???

    • @thetubelesschannel
      @thetubelesschannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The decals dont make the bike better off road....but the Rally Edition has a decent bashplate, off road hand grips, grip pads, lighter exhaust muffler...+ led blinkers, golden rims, rally seat and a nice color. Compared to the Rally Pack its a great deal. And the bike is quite competitive priced and is better offroad than many other bikes in that around 700 ccm segment. It is not a Rally Dakar bike.

    What is sad about this overprices model is that it still needs suspension upgrade if you are over 80kg.
    It doesn't have bigger tank what I would expect for rally edition.
    And the only valuable thing on the bike is the exhaust and seat the rest is just visual stuff.
    Love the rims those are nice.
    Sold my T7 for Tracer 900 which is for the same money better deal I would say.

    • @thetubelesschannel
      @thetubelesschannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its the same price ad for a T7 with the Rally Pack. Upgrade of suspension is only of interest if you plan for a lot bumpy offroad/gravel and your weight is above 75 kg without all your riding gear. (or you bring a lot luggage). I dont think a sturdy Bash-plate is of no value, nor the radiator-protector, grip-pads and off road hand grips :-) Tracer 900 is a street bike and cannot be compared in my opinion.
