Bmw, Ducati, triumph, Honda, Suzuki, kawasaki, Harley Davidson all offer almost their entire range of accessories here but Yamaha and ktm won't. And Yamaha india is content with rehashing 150cc motorcycles. Just utterly strange.
Why does the USA only get one single variant? And which one of these most closely resembles the USA version that I have?? I will say I love it very much though, and it keeps growing on me at that. Regards.
My dream Yamaha would be a special build with just the GYTR rally fuel tanks and the performance and handling kits and no fairing, just an enduro front light. Kind of old school dakar style. Just have to win the lottery, i have a good feeling for tonights draw!

I have a 2017 Tenere 1200 with heated grips, cruise control and tubeless tires, all standard for next to nothing. It's a fat 260kg adventure bike, but it knows it's not a dirt bike.
I would go for the World Raid. I tried the T7 standard and loved it, it is really playful. Unfortunately, couldn't try the WR as there is none on test in Switzerland, at least in my area. The downsize is on highways, and as I do quite a lot I need power. For now, I keep my KTM 1290 R for road and offroad and time will tell
The honest truth is that if you really wanna focus on offroad and you are just a beginner, then a dual sport is more than enough. The power alone and the weight would be too much for a offroad beginner.
Exactly. I’m willing even buy a used one with already plate eliminator , aftermarket high exhaust and heating grips 😅 the best way to save money when a previous owner will put it for you
Bit of inconsistency in the narrative about the prices. While few hundreds jump is flagged as signficant for the rally version you suggest the almost 1,5k jump to Triumph Tiger 900 rally pro is almost in range of the world rally. I mean come on.
The T7 could have been much better if... Yamaha converted the engine to dry sump, flat bottom. That would lower the COG significantly. Like Aprilia did with their 660. Or KTM flat bottom 790/890. Yamaha engineers seem to be lazy 😅 The laziness also showed with the first generation where the ABS could not be switched of only at the rear. If they had designed the bike properly I would own one. Now I have to stick to the KTM 890 Adv R. Great bike. The worst customer care 😠
I bought a GS 12 months ago and she's too big and heavy for me to handle off road without more training. Should have gone for one of these or even something smaller like a Husky 701/KTM690 to get my feet dirty. If I had the option, I'd probably grab the base model and kit it out as I needed too.
You will quickly realize, nothing can replace training. If you get the lighter bike you may get away with wrong body position, but you will never be really happy if you don't learn how to do it the right way. And a GS is really not too bad for most off roading. despite the weight and the 19" wheel
Great review all around but the last comment for the world rally price is totally inaccurate. The bikes you mention are a lot more expensive, at least here in Greece.
I have ordered the Extreme to replace my CRF300 and Triumph 1200XE as I'm riding more ATC now but still wanted the ablity to ride distance on road and get off road. The only annoying part is Yamaha dont fit at least proper 50/50 tyres as standard which means I have to spend more money, the Extreme should come with them as standard.
Which should u buy and news flash this just in the kove 800x will be available and wow its better than the t7 in almost every dimension and my goodness will you look at that price 😳😲🤯
Yeah t7 completely doesn't make sense in current market with this pricing. Boomers who curse at electronics are still getting them though , so looks like Yamaha did found it's niche 😂 It's ridiculous how much tuareg is better yet at same price as base t7. Here in poland tuareg is even cheaper . I'm waiting for kove fuck obsolete brands
@@Angry-Lynx seems like this kove is gonna make the t660 obsolete as well, no? As well as the transalp, base 790/890 adv, cf450, himalayan… most ‘middleweight’ and many ‘lightweight’ adv bikes seem to have just been disrupted big time.
@@Weltbummler23 I don't think it'll make Tuareg obsolete, I can still think at least few things to take it over Kove - with obviously cruise control being the main thing. BUT! It'll for sure be it's direct and probably main competition and steal some sales from Aprilia which isn't doing too hot with Tuareg already. One thing I'm absolutely sure is that Kove new unicorn proposal is extremely good news for adv market and competition. Let's just hope they can last those next few years which will be challenging for them but if they manage I'm sure we'll see amazing things on adv market, including much more polished 800x with CC :)
@@Angry-Lynx a couple months back they announced the 800x will have cruise control. Also some european expats in china have posted that its also got very low vibrations, about as low as the t660… kove’s 450 does not have cruise, perhaps you are thinking of that one? On paper the kove 800x seems to have improved on the t660 in pretty much every spec 🤷♂️
Does anyone know if Yamaha is going to release a 2025 Tenere 900? I think that's what I want. I've seen two videos made from AI which mean nothing to me. I need MotoBob and other credible sources to give me a yes or a no, so I can save my dough. Thanks.
The explorer is a miss. It should have just been a low version(susp+l.seat) and a lower price. That would see them grab the market of the new 450 approachable ADV's with little to no effort. This way no real reason to get it. The rest look as good as they have from the start
It's not designed to be used on long straight roads where Cruise control would be useful, most of the rides I do I'd never get the chance to use cruise control because the roads are winding , gravel etc even on main roads you get stuck behind traffic where CC is no use unless it's adaptive .
@@yuriabmxr not really, I just think that if you are doing a lot of straight long roads then there are better options than the T7. In New Zealand we are constantly on and off the throttle even on main roads sure to traffic and corners so I'd never get to use CC anyway. Remember they were designed as a simple reliable bike built to a budget, that's why they sell like hotcakes
@@silverdale3207 cc is useful everywhere unless you live directly on a trail. I use it on my commute every day and i find use any highways. The only reason the t7 doesn't have cc because it doesn't have drive by wire throttle. If the cp2 was dbw, it would have cc and add $0 to the price or complexity. Also, in the US, if your singletrack is an hour away, that is considered very close. It's a big place...

I would go for the Explorer or Tracer 7 GT - in Denmark there are not many opetunities to ride offroad....
The honest truth is that if you really wanna focus on offroad and you are just a beginner, then a dual sport is more than enough. The power alone and the weight would be too much for a offroad beginner.
I don't know what the Yamaha parts bin looks like, but travelling with a base model may be less of a headache in that regard.
Just get the cheapest one and enjoy it
Yes, ride the thing.....
Then mod to what you want
Exactly. I’m willing even buy a used one with already plate eliminator , aftermarket high exhaust and heating grips 😅 the best way to save money when a previous owner will put it for you
its so strange the tenere 700 only sells as the base model in the US. It's a massive seller in the us but only with the trash suspension model
Yamaha engineers seem to be lazy 😅
The laziness also showed with the first generation where the ABS could not be switched of only at the rear.
The bikes you mention are a lot more expensive, at least here in Greece.
i will take world raid for double tank and steering dumper
I have ordered the Extreme to replace my CRF300 and Triumph 1200XE as I'm riding more ATC now but still wanted the ablity to ride distance on road and get off road. The only annoying part is Yamaha dont fit at least proper 50/50 tyres as standard which means I have to spend more money, the Extreme should come with them as standard.
Got mine since November 2023. loving every minute with it.
how many Yamaha sold them, tenere 700, what are the figures?
Just wait for the 2025 facelift and new colors. Perhaps some extra futures.
Sooo are we gonna see a T9 World Raid ?!?! The T7 is indeed an amazing bike but, why don't they make a T9.
Too heavy
I've got a world rally on order :)
Picking up mine today! 😍
I picked last years WR for 10995 with £1000 of Yamaha accessories thrown in 👍
Is t7 good for street riding as well?
Just to many variants, get Aprilia Tuareg 660
Explorer. Im short, rode it.
Que altura tens?
@@leonardoalves5950 english sir. I rode the Yamaha Tenere 700 Explorer. Im 175 cm. And not long legs. Ride a Honda CRF300L Rally daily.
I would definitely buy the one that you are not buying which is none of them.
Because they do not offer the world raid in the US i purchase a Ktm adv. 790
Either would be good.
World raid , but I needthe semi auto box. I have a paralysed left ankle.
Which should u buy and news flash this just in the kove 800x will be available and wow its better than the t7 in almost every dimension and my goodness will you look at that price 😳😲🤯
Yeah t7 completely doesn't make sense in current market with this pricing.
Boomers who curse at electronics are still getting them though , so looks like Yamaha did found it's niche 😂
It's ridiculous how much tuareg is better yet at same price as base t7.
Also in the states the t660 is over $2k more than the base t7… t660 is rather pricey here, and its $3k more than the kove800 is expected to be.
Thanks.
World Raid for sure!! To bad its 20K+ in Norway...
I’ll take the Extreme please,thanks…🤘😉
No tubeless tyres no go for me.
The world raid would be the one for me😋Gorgeous bike that I'd buy in a heart beat, if ony they'd put tubeless spokes on it😭come on Yamaha
Would buy an Extreme or WR tomorrow... if it was available in the US. Oh well...🤷🏻
Why r all of u who have bike already complaining? At least u have a bike.
Are we getting the raid version in so cal?
Extreme with low fender for me please...
Same. 👍
Tenere is very god bike ! Super offroader!
When are you going review the 7gt ?
Definitely the extreme
No tubeless wheels and no cruise control =no deal 😢
Build a T 800 or 900 and I'll buy one.
I'm broke but i'l go for the rally one
I wish we had a choice here in the usa. But at last we only get the one. What's the deal there Yamaha ??
If I had the 25k?
The GYTR T7 Ralle❤❤❤👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧💎💎
The explorer is a miss. It should have just been a low version(susp+l.seat) and a lower price. That would see them grab the market of the new 450 approachable ADV's with little to no effort. This way no real reason to get it. The rest look as good as they have from the start
Explore with the big tank …
I pick the World Rally...
All that and no cruise control
It's not designed to be used on long straight roads where Cruise control would be useful, most of the rides I do I'd never get the chance to use cruise control because the roads are winding , gravel etc even on main roads you get stuck behind traffic where CC is no use unless it's adaptive .
Or tubeless wheels
@@silverdale3207I think you missed the "touring" part of "adventure touring"... CC would absolutely be a useful and welcome addition to this bike.
It's a big place...
in 2024 maybe I will buy KTM 790 Adventure :)
Why don’t we get all these options in the US???
Because we don't buy enough bikes!!!
There are only so many bikes I can buy!
@@mikeboyer1114 I'll try to do my best, but...money and the ring are not supportive in my mission to make the statistical turnaround from HD to Adventure Bikes...
You werent be forthwright about the Tenure. You basically endirsed the exploer but folded in frontbof the producers. Am eight ehh?
In Canada we only have one choice.
Do not buy the entry model owned one for 3 months rear shock is awful world raid is a better bike. 🏴
In north america we only have one choice.
the good choice bike that is made in japan NOT france so b happy
@@grego10r You are correct, all bikes shipped to the USA are made in japan.
@@lhurst9550 yes sir and in japan they dont make any wr and all this extrem bs versions so we get the good made in japan t7
Are there any plans to produce a 300cc version of the T7?
Tínhamos a teneré 250 no Brazil, mas saiu de linha. A T7 está chegando em 2025
