Believe or not. I am back, somehow. Few months ago, I somehow lost my motivation to do my videos in English. I felt there is everything in English done already and I can hardly compete. So since that I focused entirely on my Czech channel, where I have lot of friends and I can do it slow and easy :)) Anyway. I am constantly trying to improve my visual and audio quality and I also have some nice stories and experience to share. So I decided few days ago to try to do time by time some video in English. This is the first one about my beloved Tenere 700. Bike like exactly designed for me. Make sure you don't miss my Intro 00:45 and outro 16:18 to enjoy traveling on this lovely bike with me.
I can't wait to see known faces and users in comments. And I hope to see you soon on my next videos. I am pretty much thinking about recording Yamaha Tenere 700 vs. Honda CRF1100L as on both I did this year 10 000 km. Thanks and take care!

I'm still waiting for your thoughts and comparisant between Kawasaki Z900RS and Yamaha XSR900. Even though I already owne Z900RS it's interesing to know how did you compare them. If I was buying a second brand new bike I'ld most probably buy Tenere 700, it's a best looking middle weight adventure bike and it's reasonably priced, the only big thing which is missing is a cruise control.

I think many people on TH-cam experience(d) the same problem. It was actually ok, but doing two channels with same videos in two languages was really stressful and I was worrying more than enjoying it if you know what I mean. It happens that people lose their main passion or hobby just because they create too much videos about it :D I did not want to happen. And it is now ok. I enjoy it again the same level as I was beginning haha. Thanks!

I like your highly pragmatic approach to select useful items in order to keep the bike
slim and nimble and without running into a christmas tree configuration.
Item with biggest impact: stronger rear spring
    Item with least impact: Akrapovic

It's arguable that good quality handlebar protection is sufficient to protect the T7 such that you don't really need the additional weight of crash bars.
Some say that heavy impact on after-market water pump protectors can crack engine casings.
    Your English is fine.
    Love the choice of music.

Excellent, sensible and independent review. Obviously you have extensive experience with English. I used to do business in Czech Republic at a time when English speakers were rare, so I speak a butchered version of Czech (strasny). Keep the vids coming. After careful consideration I installed a full header and can from LeoVince. Good value and nice sound. There is a youtube video with clips of about 20 cans on the T7 so you can hear the "songs". Keep up the good work. I love my Tenere and you obviously share the same passion.

First of all let me say that you english is perfect, so nothing to change about it 👌
Your first video on the T7 was the 1st I saw, after yours I saw a million other videos and reviews but yours are still the most useful.
So many of the others keep speaking about technical details and riding feedback, which are ok but after a while they seems all the same.
In your videos I found pros and cons expressed in a very honest way.
You're also one of the few people (maybe the only one I saw until now) of my own size and weight, and this makes your feedback EXTREMELY important for me and all the other people like us.
    Please continue 🙏😊
One last thing, what do you think about the T7 as a first bike for people totally new on motorcycles?
    Thanks!

    Nice video. Nice setup
I'm 196 and 110 kg. My Rear spring is 90Nm and i recommend you 6 or 6,3 Nm fork springs (i choose 6,3 with 90) for a perfect match with your rear spring. Both on and off road. Better for braking and off road use.
I agree that the original engine guard is light but it does not protect the water pump tubes. I received a flying stone on the lower tube. No breakage, only a "poc" this time but if it was the case when traveling it would be seriously bored. I changed to an ACD plate. Very strong and small "wing" to protect the tubes.
Finally, the SW Motech ION footrests, wider than OEM, can be adjusted in height - 1.5 cm. Top comfort sitting and standing for tall guy with Yamaha higher risers handlebar .
    Good ride.
    Alain

I'm currently waiting for the delivery of my T7. Maybe next week. Ordererd the SW-Motech waterpump guard too, because it so nicely designed, hahaha ;-) You're right: the rallye seat is good for tall guys like you. I'm 1,75m and even have to lower the suspension of the T7 a little bit and even then won't have my feet flat on the ground. But it's enough to stand without struggeling to much. Your video was interesting and your english is far better than mine. Greetings from Hamburg/Germany.

    • @JFMotorcycles
      @JFMotorcycles  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

So I tested classic Continental TKC 80. Good for off-road expedition, does the job on dry tarmac, obviously not the best on the wet road. They are loud and significantly decrease the power of the bike. You feel like it goes 5-7 % slower on acceleration. They simply are heavy and have some serious resistance.
I tried Michelin Anakee Wild. I hope they were the best fit for Tenere, but I did not have the best feeling from the front in a bends first around 2 000 km. After 3 300 km rear tyre was gone, so I changed on the expedition.
Now I have in the back Pirelli MTS 90, seems nice. There is more material than on original STR Rally, but probably they are not more offroad oriented.
Many people around me use Heidenau Scout K60. They last a lot and they are great on dry road/off, but losing on a wet as far as I know. But this one I would try for an expedition. Similar category are some tyres from MOTOZ. Don't know the type, but people say the last incredibly lot. Haven't tested.
From the new models I would like to try Dunlop Trailmax Mission. They mark it 50:50 tyre, which is from what I see misleading. But for an expedition where it is majority of road, this may be a great tire... So to sum up: for offroad expedition I will now look for either MOTOZ or Heidenau, for rather onroad experience I will try new Dunlop Mission.

Maybe I would change the indicators for smaller ones, in addition to being less prone to breakage, it increases the technological and aesthetic values that go very well with the design of the motorcycle (strangely they did not make them better as standard, although I understand that the philosophy of this motorcycle is to reduce costs while keeping a simple spirit). One thing that I think you did not comment on is the tires, they are not the original ones, right? The originals say they are not very good.

you're right on everything: keep the weight low as much as possible, akra exhaust is too expensive for no value, front suspension is not that bad except if you're riding hard offroad (but in this case it's better to directly buy a ktm 300 exc or 450 rally ^^). So it is nice to see what it looks like for a tall rider to be on the bike. I think the bike will fit me, so thank you again. Now I just need to find the bike, all the dealerships where I live (Oregon USA) this bike is sold out. It is very popular. I really liked the windshield device that raised and lowered it.... And the handlebar crash guards seem like a necessity, the stock ones look cheap on weak. Also I like the montage at the very end of the video next to the water. Well done! Excellent video, good to see you back, one of the best about Tenere

Your English is fine . It is a bit tall for me . I am 6' tall but have a short inseam and a taller torso . I am barely on the balls of my feet when seated . The seat on mine is okay but the longest ride I have done is only 55 miles . I would like to have a larger/taller windscreen or an adjustable one . The Outback Motortek upper and lower crash bars didn't fit when I tried to install them , what a nightmare . Had to send them back . Talked to the part owner/owner and he was really nice about it . I learned about tolerance stacking . My Tenere is just a bit different than others as far as the millimeters go . Now I have to go and look up what 193 cm add up to in feet , haha .

Great stuff, I enjoyed that. I like the luggage set up. Did you feel the top box made the handling worse?

Great review mate I didn't catch what tyres and pressures you are using and also the gearing my WR450F MY19 is really responsive to gearing changes and also fork height just MMs through the triple clamps makes an amazing difference my WR actually likes the backpressure of the DB killer on my GYTR full exhaust it actually runs heaps better and not so bloody noisy. Food for thought 👌

Please try and keep it coming in English if you can at all. Your English is excellent. Your ideas, thoughts and commentary are considered and thorough and clear expression of ideas and your actual experiences. You are in that sweet spot of a legitimate actual solo traveller and you take reasoned risks so it is interesting to watch your videos and your video production skills are very very good. If not maybe show us a link to your Czech language channel and we can work with sub titles and still follow you. All the best!
