There is much to be said about how to manage a calendar and I feel that as I keep on using time batching and time blocking techniques, I constantly learn new things and fine-tune my routine more and more.
Time blocking is the practice of planning out every moment of your day in advance and dedicating specific time “blocks” for certain tasks and responsibilities *but* this video is not about calendar blocking basics - we’re past that stage now. We’re going more in depth to see how we can tweak that basic concept to fully optimize your schedule.
Most people have an 8 hour workday but they don’t organize that day with structure. When that happens, you go through massive productivity losses as you’re not taking advantage of the right time to do the right thing, you break without a purpose or a limit and because of that, there’s a big impact on the work you do.
So when you block a 40-hour work week, you can get way more work done (and with higher quality!) than a regularly scheduled 50 or 60+ hour work week.

this is fantastic for those that can dictate their own time. Does not work for those that need to schedule time on a minute to minute or hour to hour time frame. Not everyone works in an office or work from home format

I appreciated your take on time blocking. I’ve always thought it would be interesting to see someone’s example of this sort of thing who has a 9-5 job. I already employ this sort of thing at work, but creatively at home, I struggle a bit more because I just want to relax on my days off. Idk, just feels like sometimes the folks who want to be productive, but don’t have to make their own structure are a little left out. But I guess I could just do this on my weekends. But then how do I work this out with my spouse? All good food for thought. Thanks again and keep it up!

I've recently tried watching these videos, and I think that as a freelancer or entrepreneur where you're the boss it would work ideally.
For people in a lower end corporate role like me though, it's basically impossible to make this kind of scheduling work because my coworkers will have random projects or tasks pop up all the time lol.
