This movie accurately depicts how insecure introverts can be, especially when they have some childhood trauma like bullies, or bad parents/siblings. Adam Sandler is absolutely top notch in this one. PTA is the master.
I rented this thinking it was going to be another goofy Billy Madison type film, but I was pleasantly surprised by what it turned out to be. Sandler has some good acting chops with the right script and director.
You should see uncut gems ! It’s not easy cause the gambling gets so intense after a while but point being it’s definitely not like a happy Madison production lol
It was at this moment that P.T. Anderson started his journey into becoming the best American director of his generation. I was underwhelmed by 'Boogie Nights' and 'Magnolia', but when I watched this, I realised he had become better and more mature. Then he made 'There Will Be Blood' and established himself as a master.
Shocked to hear you think he became better and more mature after creating the masterpiece that is Magnolia. Anyway his movies are great I'm just taken aback at the mention of Magnolia in this context as it's one of my favorites and I think about it constantly ever since my first viewing
This may sound unusual, but to truly appreciate this movie and understand its brilliance, it's helpful to have experienced anxiety and struggles with insecurities or to have a good understanding of them.
My 10th grade drama/theater teacher put this on when it came out for rent.... at that time in the very early 2000s Adam Sandler was at his height.....this movie really threw me off watching it as a 16 year old who loves comedy
Brilliant movie . I used to be riddled with social anxiety . About 3 years ago I got over it completely. Recently it’s been no problem . At times I felt alone a lot . It’s hard to break out of . Sometimes God and life can lead u in the right direction . Lovely acting and music throughout . Would watch again for sure . Very laid back and relaxing this film !
@@KD_VentureMusicit gave me really bad anxiety the first time I watched it, especially in the beginning when the car flips and the harmonium gets placed on the road, then all the phone calls asking if he's going to the party, and he's just so all over the place it just made me super anxious

....then why are you watching a movie trailer of a film that stars Adam Sandler, if you can't stand him? No other productive ways of sending your time?
I hope someday you can stop discriminating people by face, imagine if some of us had an accident on our face and now we are reading how you can stand someone just because a normal face. Will you stand our faces? Can we trust someone who is driven by appearences? Should we?

Yep, that's Emily Watson
Wow
Ok lol
Is this a serious role
Kind of. Adam Sandler is playing his role seriously but the film itself is a dark romantic comedy.
