Old school, taming Argy works the same, except you set a tunnel of six gates one doorway width apart with a door on either end. Agro the argy, run into the tunnel and exit ou the middle of the tunnel wall and then slam the doors shut on the ends. This works for underwater tames too.
Far from old school it was a very common method. Same thing with billboards. It really just came down the type of community. If anything using I'm dyno gate and billboards was more of a new school thing.. Drop traps have been around since day one.
Great video! The only problem with this method is that when playing on an official server it is nearly impossible to throw down a trap while out and about because so much land has been claimed or pillared...

Update! It worked amazingly and my friends were very impressed, u wanted to take the credit but had to point them to your videos 😂
Just build a trap and walk the dino in like normal. They can say the ai has changed all they want but dinos still walk right into your traps like before. Also I would never recommend trying to build around a giga, thats how you end up dead or close to.
The ai is so shit in ascended evolved had easily 3x as good ai alphas almost never hit you in ascended you can outrun any Dino or dodge their attack it’s bob mode
That is one expensive medium trap, normally we do 4 in a row with enough spacing for players to fit through and gate the two ends. Works for any tame that can walk through a dino gateway and don't need a trap just have to be fast to close the gates or trap too if your worried.

Then again, it's a one time cost in ASA as you can pick it up after use. In ASE you couldn't.
Clear and concise instructions; may thanks. tell us what keys used for some things like foundations and such. Most assume we already know all of this in Ascended.
You can also put spikes under dino to lock it down and then build around it. It might kill it if you are not fast enough tho 😂 great circle btw 😂😂 2:55

The stego one works with therizinosaurus I don't like being on the ground so I built a over look point to shoot it because no roof I can do it on bird put a bear trap in to be safe.

for a giga you create a circle with triangle foundations put double door frames on the flat inside parts then use triangle roofs pointing up and inside the circle . then just run the giga across and it'll be stuck. you don't need a bear trap or place any additional pieces. it just needs to be led across it. we checked it and it works on ascended.

@louisianimal24 without the speed, of ASE having that type of auto trap makes it much less risky. And if your pushed for time on pvp the less time you spend dead the more time you have to tame.

How i catch just about everything in the game.
1. Get a baryonx with high health.
2 have a good saddle
3. Tank the damage and shoot it with longneck

I made a rex pen with a behemoth and dino gates forming a half circle and off the center gate a 4 dino gate trap for argies and smaller ones

I personally think the AI of the Dino's is better in some aspects but much worse in others. For example I ran a cave on foot, on official naked getting swarmed by bats, scorpions, spiders and didn't get hit once. In the old ark, there's no way you can survive a swarm of Onycs like that

I keep wondering how four doorways (gateways) lock a Rex in a prison. Is it because their head rises above the gateways and once fully enclosed they don't have room enough to lower their head and get out? It seems odd, but my guess is that's how it works. Is that right?
I mean the ai is what we got lol I know what u mean it makes sense ya but it’s just how the Dino AI is there to stupid to duck and get out lol

Set trap with a spawn point close by and just lead it in the trap with you respawn or get your stuff back from your bird and tame

They do but they are more difficult. 4 dino gates is so much easier.
You can totally get caught in your own trap lmao. I just lost a 145 Bary I had to have my argy kill cuz I got caught in my bear trap XD

god I hate having to build while I am trying to trap something. isn't there any better way? all these new snapping points not being the way I want always mess me up.
I have to disagree on this. They say the pathing is better but it's not. I would even say it's worse. I tamed my giga early game by just standing on a rock. Grant it I slid down and almost straight into his mouth lol and I knocked him out and he woke up when I went to find prime and had to go back to base and get more guns and tranq darts but I did it. Having tames follow you that pathing isn't much different either. I have baby rexes getting lost turning circles in a room instead of following me out the gates before they get to big for my base. Basically what I'm trying to say is the pathing has vacuum like tendency's.

I don’t get why people do this. Find the Dino you want put foundations down and walls how ever high you need, then just put ramps going up the wall. If you are on a argentavis and keep the Dino really close they walk right up and in. Super easy.
The new AI pathfinding makes that a little wonky at times- used to do this myself
Yeah I find putting walls that protrude out and go along the ramps seem to help. Not all Dino’s are the same. Like megatherium you have have to keep it closer and go fast. And a theri is super easy

Yes but takes alot longer. I spent 45 minutes trying to get a bear in a pitfall trap.

its actually not true in official settings you cannot just pick up your structures. you have a time limit just like ASE.

I don’t disagree the point is to show how it’s done. If you watch the whole video I show some ways to solve that issue

I have had issues with them because of the new pathing
@TeachersGameToo I used to use 3 billboards 2 preset with a bear trap then all I had to do was put 1 behind him after he got trapped and done. But I'll have to try it myself after it comes out for ps5.

I would make a few changes. First, I’ve been using a 3x3 of bear traps for gigas and 2x2 for theri size dinos
This is because there is no time to place all 4 gates within 1 bear trap
You did because you were in gcm, you were too close and were bit a couple times and still only did it right before the bear trap ended
With a 2x2 or 3x3 they get out of 1 and stuck straight after, giving ample time to build gates
Last but not least, you should use 6 gates for anything with a large range damage, I doubt you can place a gate literally under the mouth of the giga and it go well
Teach do you know why my Silica Pearls aren't glowing white in game? It makes them a fucking nightmare to see, what setting is that? ._.
They removed it with asa pretty sure so they don’t glow white anymore

They probably had the highlight resource admin command on or something similar.

Depends on what you are taming. Gigas can bite through stone.
If it has not been changed recently you get just half the resources back when demolishing placed structures after the timer of 30 seconds or so has finished counting down. For a giga 4 gateframes are sufficient and for a stego you can just use wooden billboards. If you are not in GCM you do not have unlimited resources.
What 30 second timer? Any servers I’ve played on you can just pick everything up.
Why demolish when you can pick up?

4 gates is glitchy sometimes for a giga and in ASA S+ is built into the game so you can pick anything up at any time

The only thing your losing Fiber, Metal, and Hide. The rest you can just pick up and reuse.

Ark is full of exploits remove the trees the rocks the water and your PC will run fine, and you can see other players Ez use INI Ez Kill in PvP no one can hide from you and you can use meshing and exploits to make dinos breed faster😋😛🤑🤑🤑😝
