    Dear David
Thank you very much for having dedicated an entire episode of your channel to my question of how to integrate an EDC with a maximum of 100 dollars, I feel very happy about it, I have been a fan of the channel for years and I do not miss a single episode. You are the best at checking knives and gear. Greetings from Mexico City, where by the way I tell you that you have many followers.

Some more good blue collar options I'd add:
    Ka bar dozier~$20
    Nitecore thumb flashlight~$20
Milwaukee inkzall. Better than a sharpie ~$1

Having a small amount of reflectivity on your 6 is really helpful if someone is trying to follow you through the woods at night too. Looking at the outdoors combo with the headlight. I have spent a lot of time doing owl surveys.

Urban EDC... Without adding up prices:
I love the Tini2 from Nitecore over the Fenix, because it can be used while charging (from a powerbank, or even your smartphone).
Save some money on the pen by getting a cheapo (whatever is easily available in your neck of the wood) and the cheapest notebook you can find.
    CS Mini Tuff light
    Victorinox Rambler

CJRB small feldspar or feldspar $35, Flipside 4 wallet $40, Olight I3T $15, Parker Jotter pen $10. Or,
CJRB small feldspar or feldspar $35, Folomov EDC C1 flashlight $30, Fisher space pen $25, and a $10 lunch.
The feldspar is a poor man's TRM Neutron/Atom. The Flipside wallet changed my life! The Olight and Jotter are good for the price. The Folomov has the ergonomics of a tube of chapstick, but its functionality is out of this world! The lowly space pen just works; any place, anytime, any surface, it just works. And lunch is lunch! How bad of a human being do you have to be to have a problem with lunch?

Great idea for a video and great selections in the combinations. Though I would pick the Fieldmaster over the Camper in the last one and figure out some way to make up for the extra $11 ($26.99 vs $37.99). The Fieldmaster adds scissors and the hook and drops the corkscrew for a Phillips screwdriver. It's the same length with one more layer (width) and increased utility. Fieldmaster vs Camper is an easy choice for me. I've changed the scales on my Fieldmaster to add the pen and carry it everyday.

  • @qui-gone
    @qui-gone 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks for all the great options! As always DCA thinks of every need / loadout requirement.
    My choices are as follows:
    Urban EDC under 100$:
Victorinox Rambler (30$), Thrunite T3i (15$), a regular 15$ wallet, Cold Steel SRK-C (35$) or Cold Steel Minitac Bowie (18$) - total 95$ or 78$ depending on fixed blade choice. I would throw in a nice pen (5-20$) to complement this loadout.
    Outdoors EDC under 100$
Victorinox Huntsman (45$), Thrunite Archer (30$), Coldsteel Bushman (18$), Ferro Rod (7$) - Total 100$
I am a fixed blade EDC-er and I cannot imagine any combo without a fixed blade unfortunately.
My current carry (without budget constraints) is:
TOPS CUT 4.0, Leatherman Skeletool CX, Thurnite T3 and Victorinox Rambler for Urban EDC
TOPS Prather War Bowie, Victorinox Huntsman + ferro rods (2), Thrunite Archer and TOPS CUT 4.0 / White River M1 backpacker as secondary blade for jungles / outdoor usage.

So so so helpful, thanks Eduardo and thanks DCA! Here're a couple questions: can you list some knife companies that regularly use stacked leather handles in their designs and explain why it can be a good choice? Second question: if you were going to Frankenstein a knife together by combining your favorite components of different knives, what would it be? I'm guessing for a folder you'd go for an Axis lock...Thanks again!

Shout out to edwardo great question. Shout out to dca great anwsers. Shout out to knife center. All great setups. That sog Whistle i added to the list. the we company whistle works great for my dog just want more capabilities. The cjrb ria is cool they have Exclusives on that aswell. It is always good to have options. Buy what you like and like what you buy. If I could I’d buy them all and carry them all at once but we can’t. Have a good day to all.

DCA - as usual, it's not just about the knives and equipment but the advice you give as well - it's always spot on. Great, reliable budget options. Viewers can also do a bit of mix and match with the items on the table if they want. Swiss army knives are often overlooked as light capability multitools - very pocket friendly options available.

I love this episode topic. I'll often swap out the primary blade but almost always have a victorinox rambler and a rovyvon A5x in my coin pocket. The rambler kinda sits between the classic and the mini champ in terms of tool offerings. I'm surprised at how often the rambler comes in handy. I have other lights that make their way into the rotation too but the rovyvon A5x basically weighs nothing, is pretty bright, glows in the dark and can be clipped on a hat. In some ways these tools are more EDC than the primary blades that get swapped out in that I can literally carry them everywhere and everyday.

I've recently gone to Pokka pens. Nowhere near as nice as a Space Pen, but the same size, and at $25 for 8 of them, losing one isn't too painful.

Eduardo that is a great question? That should be a great topic for the majority of these shows at least to open up with. The opening question should be the best knife for your money? What do you think David?

I really miss the old non reversible olight pocket clips... These new reversible clips are a fail. They want to get caught up on everything if you have them lens up, and it just falls right out of your pocket if you are carrying it the other way lens down due to there not being a retention system... I never had issues with the clip on my S1 baton...

Qsp snipe and a streamlight protac 2L-x. $110(what I paid) In my opinion better knife and light than any of these. The single cell streamlight is like 40 if you want to get a Lil cheaper.

The USB rechargable 18650s the 2L-X is packaged with is the shit.

How about a kit that includes both the Roxon Phantasy and the Phantom?
