DCA - Just got your pocket tango in the mail and gotta say, I’m a changed man. First fixed blade outside of a toolbox for me. Perfect pocket slip. Always love the videos and wanted to support a pro at their work.
Love the history behind the boker 4:40. I may get it just for that reason. Thank you for the very nice, well titled chapters. Makes going through a 40 min video so easy. I wish more content creators would do this more often.
DCA- really enjoyed the "banter" between you and Ben on the Knafs channel. Very informative and interesting. As always I appreciate your passion for knives.
I've been waiting for that Boker Sleeve Dagger to release. I love daggers and historical blades, so that's an easy win for me. I also really like the looks of that Boker Coffin! A little steep for my wallet, but I might talk myself in it...
It's the highlight of the fun of watching this series when you connect with something you didn't know about and so you get a new discovery and the added newness to the enjoyment amps up the fun
I have a Kansept Korvid Mini Cleaver (Jade G10 liner lock), and it's high quality and well designed. It's a great knife despite its novelty size and shape. I love it and carry it daily in my watch pocket.
Work Tuff knives are built to work hard. Although the newer ones come with coloured handles etc. and look a bit fancy, don't be fooled. I have two WT fixed blades and I take them with me when I know I'm going to need to do some chopping and brush clearing etc. Easy to recommend. Take care.
I recently added the Shipwrecked Engraved McNess Mac2 Auto to my collection and I freaking love that knife. Been wanting a McNees for quite awhile now and I'm happy to say it does not disappoint now that I finally have one. I honestly didn't realize how much of a tank it was until I got it in hand. Needless to say, it's been my go to EDC folder since I got it about 3 weeks ago. It's also my first knife in Magnacut. I only sharpened it once when I first took it out of the packaging and it's still going strong after cutting open 100s of ingredient bags and cutting up at least 150 boxes with it. it had a nice edge from the factory, but I always put my own mirror polished edge on every knife I get new regardless of how good the factory edge is.
I would also be interested in the thickness of the blades, but it is usually only shown from the side and quickly turned over to the other side. If possible, show it sometimes, please! Thank you!
And for once I'm watching a new knives video, while one of said new knives is sitting next to me on my desk. The Baby Banter FB is a great little knife; I can't wait for someone to make a custom pocket sheath for it!
DCA as always excellent content, well structured and just a joy to whatch. Recently got myswlf a petrifued fish beluga. Great knife! What would you recommend for larger than average hands as a companion to the beluga.
What's up Big Dave and Crafty Tom!... oh yeah..Hi Seth. Big Dave, I hear ya mention "black blades" or "rose colored blade"... but never mention if it's paint, PVD, DLC..etc.I don't want to muddle the process.. but sometimes it's important to know what we're dealing with. Could you help with that? ALWAYS A FAITHFUL WATCHER! LOVE YA GUYS!
I’m getting more into woodworking and I’ve been looking for a good knife I could edc that would be good at cleaning up mortises and tenons. Do you have any recommendations?
@@landofpc oh for sure but I’ve had a srk that literally the second i pulled it out of a piece of wood the tip broke off so it’s still questionable for me either way.
You don't cover Victorinox enough. It is an exceptional off-hand pocket knife. Especially the Huntsman; the saw is exceptional for sawing through a cervid's pelvis to get the poop chute out in one piece. Then you can use the scissors to trim the hang nails on your delicately manicured fingers. It fits anyone's needs.
Hmm. Well dang. I love my baby banter a TON, and was looking forward to the fixed blade to come out but, I feel like it missed the mark a bit. Dunno why, just looks like it wasn't the same....

Hi DCA, I love those Work Tuff Knives! I'm glad they're made in Taiwan instead of China. That Boker Daggar is SUPER COOL! I can't legally own that type of knife where I live, but hopefully I'll move to a place with more freedom in the future! It's not practical for anything except for self defense, but would be just soooo cooool just to have! If John Wick was so effective with a pencil . . . just imagine what he could do with one of those!! I tremble!!😯 Sorry, I skipped over most of the rest of this video because most of it is made in China. I don't care how good the knives are, the CCP's agenda is a deal breaker for me! Too many excellent blades made in USA, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, UK, etc!
Another Chinese heavy episode. Blown away that the SOG was US made. I love that case, but it's too expensive. Seems like a safe queen. I have folders more expensive, of course, but modern designs/steel. Nice vid
I don't understand how the ANV works. Why doesn't the flipper collide with the cross barr during the opening?. Hey, Knife Center staff, I would like to thank you for your work, I follow the channel from Italy, and I rarely comment because I'm quite annoyed by the new models of the last years, nothing really interesting for me, but you do a great work as always. Have a good day.
Matter fact! Thinking about it now, I find that civivi makes their "small" fixed blades WAYYYY TOO SMALL! I keep thinking of that mini kukri (that's almost pointless)
For spear points, It's to do with how the tip of the blade aligns with the pivot & centreline of the handle when open. Traditional spear point blades look like spears, that is , the top half of the blade mirrors the bottom half and they have a distinct centreline along the blade from the pivot to tip. Both edges may or may not be sharpened. Modern spear points are a bit more varied & the top and bottom may not be mirrored, however, when looked at side-on the tip will be in line with the centreline of the pivot & knife handle. The focus of a spear point is stabbing & penetrating (like a spear). For drop points, it's to do with how the tip of the blade aligns with the spine of the blade. When looked at side-on, the tip of a drop point is lower than the spine with the drop being created by a downward curve. (FYI - If the drop is created by a straight line then it's a 'clip point'. If the point is in line with the spine it's a 'straight back' and if the tip is higher than the spine it's 'trailing point'.) The focus of a drop point is cutting & slicing. There are plenty of diagrams on line to assist with these descriptions. Of the two, drop points are by far more versatile in terms of use. Unless you have a specific need for the stabbing power of a spear point I would recommend going with the drop point. Hope this helps.
@@realbroggo Spear point blade is actually better for slicing in my opinion. I even made myself a kitchen knife in spear point shape but with handle obvioiously a bit above centreline.
@realbroggo thing is a ton of bushcraft knives are spear point as well but with plenty of thickness all the way to the point and since the point is lower than the spine it could technically be called a drop point from my knowledge. I was just curious where we'd draw the line between the two or if it's just one of those things where the line is too blurry to find.
@@Nudel-nc1cp No argument here. Comments on blade designs & grinds are all generalised. There are no fixed rules. If you've found a knife that works for you - go for it! Have a great day.
@@brandonlowe3299 Got it. Apologies for the essay. Easy answer - these days many designers are using modified versions of the various traditional blade shapes. This might just be for looks or to enhance functionality in some way. In addition to the blurring between drop point & spear point the other big blur is between sheepsfoot & wharncliffe. So yes, sometimes the line is too blurry to find. Have a great day.

Hey DCA, thanks for taking extra time with actual new knives. So many other “new” knives are simply old knives with new steel, handles or finishes.

It's an impressive trick, but I love my button locks and I have assisted opening Benchmade 496 Vector for a axis lock flipper.
@JosephOlson-ui2pg Yes, my Civivi Conspirator has the flipper and button lock combo. It works great, but the axis lock still seems more sturdy.
