These days Dimash sells out arenas and stadiums all over the world in places like London, Moscow, New York, Prague, Dubai, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Turkey, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Latvia, etc. In May he will be performing in a stadium in Istanbul which holds 43,000 concert-goers. Please know that every person that made it on camera once Dimash started singing, audience included, is an accomplished singer in China. Most are in the rank of superstar in China. It is a testament to his level of talent and the effect he has.
Thank you for this great reaction. Your response mirrors my own, when I first heard it - I cried, and still tear up every time I see this !! Because his parents were both Professional singers, as a child, he loved toddling onto the stage during their bows - and bowed along with them. He loved the feeling of connection and love the audience gave. Thus he knew very early that he too wanted to be a singer someday. His parents supported this, and he began training at the age of five. He is known to practice three hours every day, thus he is a Master of his vocal chords. He calls his fans " Dears ", because they are as dear to him as family. He states that without them, he couldn't do what he loves to do. During European and Eastern concerts, the fans flood him with flowers. I've read that he gives those flowers to local Hospitals, to the elderly, and when possible, to his Mother !! Sweet guy !! If you truly want to experience Dimash, I would suggest you continue listening to his " I am singer" Chinese talent show performances. The next one being " Opera2 ".

Hi there, interesting, a reactor from Belgium… I am a Belgian Dear (Dimash calls his fans Dears, because they are dear to him like family). I have listened to him every day for the past few years. I have been to 4 of his concerts (Czechia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Hong Kong), number 5 and 6 coming in May (Hungary and Turkey). He is absolutely unique. He can sing any octave, any dynamic, any type of song. This performance was at The Singer, a competition in China for established, already popular singers (so not like BGT/The Voice and others where unknown people can participate). He got second place because a Chinese person had have first place. They changed the rules as of the following year. To get an idea of his abilities and scope: react to: Adagio (same The Singer competition), Stranger (composed for him), Ave Maria (composed for him), Ikanaide Tokyo Jazz, Omir (composed BY him and he wrote the lyrics), El Amor En Ti (composed BY him), The Pearl Fisher’s Duet (with Placido Domingo) and his latest release When I’ve Got You (composed BY him). All very different, all sublime. Besides the unmatched vocals, he is also the most pure-hearted, genuine, down-to-earth, peace-promoting human being ❤. Dimash always leave everyone speechless. He was only 22 when he participated in the competition. Everyone else were already famous (much older) Chinese singers. He was the “wild card”. They had NO idea what they were in for 😂He has a long history with this song. There are several performances of this song on his page. ANYTHING you pick is a winner. I agree going In chronological order so you can see his development as an artist over the last 7 or 8 years. One of a kind!!! Hopefully you will do more of him - you have a lot of catching up to do! @@SaeedReacts. I think what this person referred to by "SOS 2021" is the Digital Show version which is second best whilst the version you reacted to here was third best. Out of the three major versions available on YT you reacted to his worst rendition of this song which is fine because A) Dimash's worst is still staggering and B) this singer version is often used for the context and background it provides. 2021 was during the corona epidemic and Dimash did a digital live concert without physical audience and a great version that this person is referring to, but it's not best (I will explain why). So if you already did the one that provides all the context and you were to do another SOS if you even want to it makes sense to now look at how far Dimash can take the song which is a lot further than he does in the 2021 digital concert. I'm gonna make this simple... Basically the biggest difference between the digital show and the slavic bazaar versions is that in digital show every note is clipped and in slavic bazaar all those notes are persisted more; they are elongated.

I’m so so happy that this was your first Dimash video! The Chinese singing competition was called The Singer and Dimash, as the youngest singer and relatively unknown, was slated to perform first. That’s the spot no one wants. But of course he hit the ball out of the park with his incredible performance and became an instant international superstar.
Dimash is the greatest vocalist I have ever heard, you should listen to Stranger, Adagio, Sinful Passion, Ikanaide, Across Endless Dimensions, Love is Like a Dream, Olympico, Unforgettable Day(Gakku concert) and the list goes on. Enjoy the ride!!!

Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) TH-cam channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Dimash started training his voice at 5 years old. He never missed a class. His Grandmother walked him to the school. He to this day trains his voice for about 3 hours a day. I would suggest your next reaction of Dimash to be Sinful Passion with English subtitles. The best one is live performance Sochi. It is the performance that was the famous Igor Krutoy first heard Dimash. Igor Krutoy came out of retirement to work with Dimash because of that performance. He is the man you might see playing the piano for Dimash, if you continue to react to Dimash videos of live performances. Igor Krutoy is a music writer, producer, ect. This was the 2017 Season of the Chinese 'Singer" Competition, which I beleive is the bisggest most popular of it's type in China. The competition is not for new artists, but for already established Singers, and the audience is made up mostly of established Industry professionals. (So they are Tough Judges! } Dimash, ( here aged 23 - he is now almost 30 ) was invited on as a 'wild card' Guest Competitor from China's neighbour; Kazakhstan. He had already won every competition he'd been on in Eastern Europe, but was competely unknown in China. They gave him an enthusiastic and warm welcome for thier new 'guest' as he stepped on stage - but { Like YOU! } had no clue what they were about to witness... This was his 1st performance on Singer, of many subsequent in that season, and he blew everyone out of the water. You can see on the faces of his fellow competitors -back stage - that they realise they are 'Done'! Might as well pack up and go home! The night this 1st performance went to air - Chinese 'twitter' blew up' - and the next morning Dimash was shocked to learn he now needed a Security Detail for everywhere he went - which he didn't really quite believe until he stepped outside- to be mobbed by hordes of adoring new fans. So... It was absoultely clear, and became clearer still, as the season progressed, and Dimash's performances got better and better, who the Winner would be. So... just imagine the shock and fury of his, now millions of fans - when he Did NOT Win! 😲😡 { But that's a whole other whole story! }😆 # Flipping from this version of SOS - to his latest Music Video production - misses the stunning breadth of his talent and his whole progression til now. Reccomend you go back and see all his Singer performances, and then work forward since, in time.

So, the remainder of that story is ->>> that when Dimash was delegated Runner Up instead of the Winner, his Chinese fans went ballistic on social media. The Shows' producers then crept out and admitted that their 'rules' were that only a Chinese Citizen could be the Winner and that they'd only invited him on as a courtesy gesture to their neighbour, never expecting him to 'get anywhere'. They seemed quite surprised when their 'explanation' only poured fuel on the flames of Fury! It became almost an international incident and both Governments then stepped in and it was agreed that Dimash would be given the Honarary Title of "Kazakh - China Cultural Ambassador ". A role he takes very seriously. He has learned the Chinese language and regularly returns there to perform, where he is known as 'little brother'. Did this cool the fan's flames? Not entirely. You can still find plenty of Chinese fans who think he was robbed of his Win. >>> The next installment of the story is... Not long after this 'upset' a group of Chinese Astronomers ran a completely different National Competition. That was - inviting nominations, on-line, to name the next newly discovered Star. The Chinese Dears leapt on this great opportunity to "Make Dimash an Actual Star" and went on-line en-masse to vote for him, and that's why there is a Star named Dimash swinging around somewhere out in the Andromeda Galaxy!!! Thank you for this great reaction. Your response mirrors my own, when I first heard it - I cried, and still tear up every time I see this !! Because his parents were both Professional singers, as a child, he loved toddling onto the stage during their bows - and bowed along with them. He loved the feeling of connection and love the audience gave. Thus he knew very early that he too wanted to be a singer someday. His parents supported this, and he began training at the age of five. He is known to practice three hours every day, thus he is a Master of his vocal chords. He calls his fans
" Dears ", because they are as dear to him as family. He states that without them, he couldn't do what he loves to do. During European and Eastern concerts, the fans flood him with flowers. I've read that he gives those flowers to local Hospitals, to the elderly, and when possible, to his Mother !! Sweet guy !! If you truly want to experience Dimash, I would suggest you continue listening to his " I am singer" Chinese talent show performances. The next one being " Opera2 ".

This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer).
The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

Hi there, interesting, a reactor from Belgium… I am a Belgian Dear (Dimash calls his fans Dears, because they are dear to him like family). I have listened to him every day for the past few years. I have been to 4 of his concerts (Czechia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Hong Kong), number 5 and 6 coming in May (Hungary and Turkey). He is absolutely unique. He can sing any octave, any dynamic, any type of song. This performance was at The Singer, a competition in China for established, already popular singers (so not like BGT/The Voice and others where unknown people can participate). He got second place because a Chinese person had have first place. They changed the rules as of the following year. To get an idea of his abilities and scope: react to: Adagio (same The Singer competition), Stranger (composed for him), Ave Maria (composed for him), Ikanaide Tokyo Jazz, Omir (composed BY him and he wrote the lyrics), El Amor En Ti (composed BY him), The Pearl Fisher’s Duet (with Placido Domingo) and his latest release When I’ve Got You (composed BY him). All very different, all sublime. Besides the unmatched vocals, he is also the most pure-hearted, genuine, down-to-earth, peace-promoting human being ❤. Dimash always leave everyone speechless. He was only 22 when he participated in the competition. Everyone else were already famous (much older) Chinese singers. He was the “wild card”. They had NO idea what they were in for 😂He has a long history with this song. There are several performances of this song on his page. ANYTHING you pick is a winner. I agree going In chronological order so you can see his development as an artist over the last 7 or 8 years. One of a kind!!! Hopefully you will do more of him - you have a lot of catching up to do! @@SaeedReacts. I think what this person referred to by "SOS 2021" is the Digital Show version which is second best whilst the version you reacted to here was third best.
Out of the three major versions available on YT you reacted to his worst rendition of this song which is fine because A) Dimash's worst is still staggering and B) this singer version is often used for the context and background it provides.
2021 was during the corona epidemic and Dimash did a digital live concert without physical audience and a great version that this person is referring to, but it's not best (I will explain why).
So if you already did the one that provides all the context and you were to do another SOS if you even want to it makes sense to now look at how far Dimash can take the song which is a lot further than he does in the 2021 digital concert.

Basically the biggest difference between the digital show and the slavic bazaar versions is that in digital show every note is clipped and in slavic bazaar all those notes are persisted more; they are elongated.

Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Dimash started training his voice at 5 years old. He never missed a class. His Grandmother walked him to the school. He to this day trains his voice for about 3 hours a day. I would suggest your next reaction of Dimash to be Sinful Passion with English subtitles. The best one is live performance Sochi. It is the performance that was the famous Igor Krutoy first heard Dimash. Igor Krutoy came out of retirement to work with Dimash because of that performance. He is the man you might see playing the piano for Dimash, if you continue to react to Dimash videos of live performances. Igor Krutoy is a music writer, producer, ect. This was the 2017 Season of the Chinese 'Singer" Competition, which I beleive is the bisggest most popular of it's type in China. The competition is not for new artists, but for already established Singers, and the audience is made up mostly of established Industry professionals. (So they are Tough Judges! }
Dimash, ( here aged 23 - he is now almost 30 ) was invited on as a 'wild card' Guest Competitor from China's neighbour; Kazakhstan. He had already won every competition he'd been on in Eastern Europe, but was competely unknown in China. They gave him an enthusiastic and warm welcome for thier new 'guest' as he stepped on stage - but { Like YOU! } had no clue what they were about to witness...
This was his 1st performance on Singer, of many subsequent in that season, and he blew everyone out of the water. You can see on the faces of his fellow competitors -back stage - that they realise they are 'Done'! Might as well pack up and go home!
The night this 1st performance went to air - Chinese 'twitter' blew up' - and the next morning Dimash was shocked to learn he now needed a Security Detail for everywhere he went - which he didn't really quite believe until he stepped outside- to be mobbed by hordes of adoring new fans.
So... It was absoultely clear, and became clearer still, as the season progressed, and Dimash's performances got better and better, who the Winner would be.
So... just imagine the shock and fury of his, now millions of fans - when he Did NOT Win! 😲😡 { But that's a whole other whole story! }😆
# Flipping from this version of SOS - to his latest Music Video production - misses the stunning breadth of his talent and his whole progression til now. Reccomend you go back and see all his Singer performances, and then work forward since, in time.

So, the remainder of that story is ->>> that when Dimash was delegated Runner Up instead of the Winner, his Chinese fans went ballistic on social media. The Shows' producers then crept out and admitted that their 'rules' were that only a Chinese Citizen could be the Winner and that they'd only invited him on as a courtesy gesture to their neighbour, never expecting him to 'get anywhere'. They seemed quite surprised when their 'explanation' only poured fuel on the flames of Fury! It became almost an international incident and both Governments then stepped in and it was agreed that Dimash would be given the Honarary Title of "Kazakh - China Cultural Ambassador ". A role he takes very seriously. He has learned the Chinese language and regularly returns there to perform, where he is known as 'little brother'. Did this cool the fan's flames? Not entirely. You can still find plenty of Chinese fans who think he was robbed of his Win.

Not long after this 'upset' a group of Chinese Astronomers ran a completely different National Competition. That was - inviting nominations, on-line, to name the next newly discovered Star. The Chinese Dears leapt on this great opportunity to "Make Dimash an Actual Star" and went on-line en-masse to vote for him, and that's why there is a Star named Dimash swinging around somewhere out in the Andromeda Galaxy!!! True Story.
