That was that show “The Worlds Best” that most Dears don’t like to mention. One of his rules is he never competes against a child. TWB failed to tell him the last two contestants were children. One even from his country. So he very graciously dropped out, despite the horrible way RuPaul reacted.

You've been DIMASHED!!!
Opera singers can appreciate Dimash even more than others. Welcome to the Dimash world. As you mentioned the Dive Dance, I recommend the version from his Bastau concert, not the performance from this show! However, Dimash does not sing the original version, but a slightly modified one. The original score does have unsingable parts such as octave or even ninth jumps within a coloratura. He sings it a semitone lower than the original, which is still immensely high for a man. Yes. Like any Professional should, Dimash has kept at his training and practice. That is how World-Class people get to be World-Class in their fields and it is how they stay at the top of the game to remain relevant. He was also really young here, I think like 23 years old, right? His voice has matured since. His renditions of this song from when he was a teenager are pretty good too but he just could not hit the lows like he could in 2017.

This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer).
The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

The Starmania character that sings this song (Johnny Rockfort) has just lost his rebellion against a totalitarian regime, and his love has just been gunned down by the forces of the same regime. I discovered Dimash during the Pandemic and this was the first performance I experienced! I got goosebumps then and I get them every time I hear this song! Ain’t he just the bees’ knees? I’m a 72 year old dude in California whose Mum was a professional singer, so I was exposed to operatic arias and the voice lessons she gave in Hollywood. Dimash Qudaibergen (Dinmukhammed Qanatuly Qudaibergen) was born on May 24, 1994 in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. He is 1.91 m (6.3 ft) tall.
Dimash is a singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, actor, video director, screenwriter and entrepreneur who has received the title of Honored Music Artist of Kazakhstan and many other significant awards around the world.
Dimash Qudaibergen was very fortunate to be born into musical 'royalty'. Grandfather was a professional dombra player, grandmother was a teacher and sang. His mother Svetlana Aitbayeva has a classical education (not opera). His father, Kanat Aitbayev, is also a singer, songwriter and producer. His parents are known throughout the country and are “Honored Music Artists of Kazakhstan”. Both have been seen on the big stages and on television in Kazakhstan for many years.

According to Kazakh tradition, Dimash grew up with his grandparents. He calls them mom and dad and for a long time thought his parents were brother and sister-in-law. They all live together in one house.

Dimash wasn't a child prodigy, but he always wanted to be a musician and grew up surrounded by music. As a young boy (2 years old) he would often sit in the audience at his parents' performances and run onto the stage when they bowed at the end, and he did the same. While other children drew cars or princesses, Dimash drew a music studio and the instruments.

In his childhood, Dimash trained in taekwondo. Dimash did not fit into the traditional image of a singer in Kazakhstan and was heavily criticized. Even his singing teacher forbade him to sing in falsetto (interview with his first singing teacher - th-cam.com/video/V7hkcKYAnhg/w-d-xo.html ... but Dimash was undeterred.
As a child he performed at concerts and took part in various competitions. In 2012, Dimasch won the Grand Prix of Kazakh young singers “Schas Kanat” (“Young Wings”). In the same year he received first prize in the Ukrainian TV competition “Vostochnyi Bazaar” (Oriental Market), and a year later he won first place in the Kyrgyz international festival “Making Asia”. In 2015, Dimasch won the Grand Prize of the Belarusian music festival “Slavyansky Bazaar” (Slavic Market) - a milestone in the young singer's career.
The career jump to global megastar came in January 2017 after his participation in the Chinese singing competition “The Singer”.
In 2016, Dimash turned down the offer of an engagement at the National Opera in Astana (capital of Kazakhstan) because he wanted to go his own way. He created his own genre: neo-classical combined with classical, folklore and other styles like pop, rock, R&B and jazz. We lay people say “Popera”. Dimash cannot be pigeonholed. 😃
Dimash is independent and has full artistic control over himself. His father founded the company "DimashAli" with a friend (his son's name is Ali).
In 2017, Dimash surprised everyone, not only in China. His first album was certified 1x platinum in 37 seconds, 3x platinum in 47 minutes and 5x platinum in one day.
He opened the eyes of his critical compatriots. Today, Dimash is his country's "cultural ambassador" and a "national treasure" (no official title). He himself is a proud Kazakh and patriot.
Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in his family. He speaks 3 languages: Kazakh (mother tongue), Russian without an accent (second language in Kazakhstan) and English. So far he sings in 16 languages (phonetically). Dimash says dancing is difficult for him. But he moves great on stage and his hands speak. He is a grandios and sensitive story teller. Dimash trains his voice 3 hours every day...but he says: "You don't have to know how hard I've worked, you just have to enjoy the results."
In professional circles, Dimash is considered a lyrical baritone with a typically wide range. Some believe that he does not sing his high notes as a countertenor but as a natural soprano. He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, alto, soprano.
His current pitch range is G0 - D8 (outside the piano), 7,7 octaves! At least the Dimash shows us so far. 😃

Dimash's 'heavenly' vocal abilities, from bass to coloratura soprano, are difficult to classify. They are not only limited to the enormous range of over seven octaves and the mixture of all musical genres, but it is also the incredible command of his voice and the ability to touch people emotionally and surprise them again and again. Such skills are very rare and can only be acquired, maintained and perfected through relentless and never-ending training.
Dimash doesn't drink alcohol and of course he doesn't smoke, he doesn't drink iced drinks and he doesn't like socks. He loves fire and water on stage, of course only as stage sets. 🤣

Dimash is a very handsome, attractive man and is on the list of the most handsome men in the world. He is a popular model all over the world. The best designers in the world court him and are inspired by his music. He doesn't just wear her creations on stage.

Most Dears boycott the videos because they know the backstory: Dimash left the show before the finale and his assured victory, turning down a record deal and $1 million in prize money. Dimash just had a duet with Placido Domingo. They were both a jury of Virtuoso talent show and the Maestro suggest to have a duet with him. He sings in 15 languages but only speaks Kazakh, Russian, English and a little chinese. His concert reportoire are sung in Kazakh, English, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, French, spanish. He is from Qazaqstan, he was only 22 here and had never been away from home by himself. What u should do is watch all of The Singer competition till the end to see what he could do at that age. Then go to his Bastau concert, still only 23 before moving forward, or u will miss a lot.
He is now 29, 30 in May and his voice is soooooo powerful now, even better than this. So, if you jump ahead too much you will not see how he progressed. He trains constantly. He is also the most humble, genuine and generous person. A very beautiful young man with an old soul, and sings like an angel. Enjoy yr trip into Dimashland.
The Diva Dance: Dimash's best performance of the song was at his Bastau concert. And because that is quite short, I suggest to react to the duet version of Diva Dance (embedded into Drunken Concubine) with Chinese star Li Yugang - it holds a big surprise.
One of the things I love about this particular performance is the reactions of the other singers off stage as this is their first time hearing him and knowing that they have to perform after him. Note that they are all seasoned, well known, performers in China.
For most of us this was our introductory song to Dimash and although he has sung it a number of times since with increasing nuance accuracy and depth this is still my favourite for the rawness of this rendition.

He said that it is 1% talent 99% hard work. He practice everyday for 3 hours and still works with a voice coach. In this show he was 22, he will be 30 now in May. That’s not counting that his concerts are about 3 hours long. He sings in 13 languages but he only speaks Kazakh, English, Russian and Chinese. He is from Kazakhstan.

He is famous for having an unusually wide vocal range and his ability to sing in more than fifteen languages. Dimash was born Dinmukhammed Kanatuly Kudaibergen in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan on the 24th of May, 1994.
When he was only five years old, Dimash began taking vocal and piano lessons at the children's section of the Akhmet Zhubanov Music College. He continued his training throughout his school years and eventually attended the music institute of K. Zhubanov University. He graduated in 2014 with a classical music degree centred on vocal ability. He continued his musical education by studying contemporary music Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana.
He successfully received a Master's degree in Composition and was even recommended for the PhD program. Throughout his time at university, Dimash entered four major singing competitions in Kazakhstan. He won the National Zhas Kanat Contest with a perfect score of 180 out of 180, which was unprecedented in the competition's history. In December 2014, he was awarded a laureate of the State Youth Prize Daryn.
He released his first album in China the same year, and it went platinum in thirty-seven seconds!

I cant say he is best singer in the world because answer will be subjective anyway thats question like which one is better Vincent van Gogh or Leonardo da Vinci but as amateur vocalist I can say technically he is best vocalist who is still living in the planet not just because of he has amazing range but he mastered at every register and technics especially his flageolet register(his soprano falsetto voice) also his whistle register better then any male singer then I ever heard and his mix register technique incredible and he mastered at belt canto technics at level of opera singers.

You haven't seen anything yet that was the beginning of people recognizing his true talent hes a wonderful person as well as in my opinion the best vocalist that ever did it he doesn't speak fluently in those many languages but sings in them stay on your journey believe me ive been listening to him everday for about 5yrs now and I mean everyday he's jst the best and I'm 53 he's 29 what a blessing this man is to not only music but the world
